Definitely the nicest looking bike trailer on the market and that quick release mount seems pretty grand. It'd be nice if they also sold it without the bag and shaved off a hundred bucks. I'm working on a diy single wheel trailer - making a bracket to pivot at both the dropout (vertical) and after the wheel (horizontal) is more complicated than it seems.

how do these handle traveling over 15km coming down a hill fully loaded.. Is it true that they can jackknife or cause the bike to get out of control and crash..? Thanks

    I don’t know
    If it’ll be this
Particular model but I’m going with a single wheel trailer for my solo bicycle trips

Did you do any trips? How far and how did it work out?

I'd question the 29er. Maybe a 29x2.1 oe maybe 2.2 but it's already fairly close! I have Schwalbe Big apple 29x2.35 Balloon tyres. I suspect they'ed be really freakin close.

The Slide Lock Quick Release regarding theft. Is there a way to lock the trailer to your bike?

    • @PushysOnline

***** Hi, there is not a way with the slide system but I would just keep a small coil lock and lock it to your rear wheel and this should be sufficient.

Coil locks take less than a minute to cut. At $500usd, this trailer could come with a secure locking mechanism and suspension. It is also considerably higher priced than the BobYak with suspension. I will say, it does look nice. but cute doesn't cut it when your trailer is stolen. :) PEACE

@@rdkuless Maybe in America, In the rest of the world even the basic Yak is far more expensive and a lot heavier.

Cable Locks aren't worth the cardboard they come packaged in when you buy them.
They can be cut through in a few seconds.
They're better than nothing of course but a gold rated chain lock would be much better and you can carry it in the trailer.
Also, is the trailer wheel quick release too?
I presume it is. That's something a mischievous little sh.. vandal could pop off just to ruin your day.
I have a two wheeled trailer myself and it is a very real concern.

I emailed Topeak with this query but no response. I wondered if anyone on here had any ideas (I have photos). Good Morning,
I’m after a little advice with one of your products.
A customer has asked me to fit a through axle adapter to his new bike so that he can use his Topeak Journey Trailer.
The through axle he has bought is the TX Axle Kit P15.
Using the spacers, I installed the through axle. However, the length of the axle does not fit the trailer. The centre distance for the outer locators on the axle are 265mm but the openings on the trailer connectors are at 235mm centres.
I’ve attached photos showing the proble.
I can’t see anyway to make this fit and I can’t see a way of shortening the axle. Am I missing something?
I’ve assumed that stretching open the A frame on the trailer is not a good idea as this would stress the aluminium.
Is there two types of trailer? i.e. narrow A frame and wide A frame?
Is there a shorter axle with connectors at 235mm centres?
Have we got the correct through axle?
Is there a way of shortening this axle and therefore reduce the centre distance of the connectors?
    Please respond.

There's two types of yokes ( arms that fit the axel and attach to the rear wheel ) they might have ordered the wrong type.
