    It's hard to have a favorite. He was so different and so natural
    You never knew what he was going to do or what you were going
    to get.
    The man had it all.

    Elvis hair has just been voted (again) the most iconic haircut in the 20 century.
    His stile with the high collar or the jumpsuits in the 70' , his voice, the way he moved, his way of singing , his charisma, his way of blending singing stiles together , his good look , EVERYTHING came together in this man !!!!!

  • @kckirkify
    @kckirkify 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    He hated how they had this originally choreographed so they let him do it his way. Brilliantly. 💜

    • @honeysucklerose134
      @honeysucklerose134 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      His friend George Klein said in an interview that the dance was originally choreographed in a different way. When Elvis saw the arrangement he said “Man I’m no Gene Kelly I can’t dance like that” so his own moves were incorporated into the film and as they say the rest is history.

    Vintage, youthful aggression for 1957, for any decade, never gets old... his vocal not only off the hook but expertly straddling screech, squeal, & control, always using great phrasing & vibrato... a real innovator

    You guys keep playing Elvis, I will keep watching. I hope you delve into his Blues, Gospel music etc. Even if it's not a live performance. You can listen to his voice more intently. I enjoy your Elvis enthusiasm!! The younger generation need to know who Elvis is and was to keep his name, spirit and legacy alive!! I have seen Elvis in concert when I was 7 years old in 1976. It was like seeing God as a little lad. He was larger than life!! 10,000 women screaming and crying for him. So many camera flashes made it look like a strobe light in the Coliseum. A moment in time I will never forget. Thank you for not only enjoying his music but knowing what a wonderful humanitarian he was. Do more research. You will be amazed how down to earth he was and he was just like you and me. He gave his heart n soul to us all. All he wanted was to be our friend. Thank you lads

    C’mon guys! How the heck could we not enjoy your reaction! Bopping up and down & singing along..amazing! This was the first song I used to dance to when I was 7 years old, just like Elvis did and the floorboards would move so much that items would gradually work their way to the end of the shelf and fall off! His voice is powerful, the rhythm and base beat just gets you moving and the tune is iconic! Classic and timeless! Thanks geezers.. you rock!

    I love it...you young reactors reacting to a video that was released 62yrs ago! Do you think there is any new video today that will get reacted to in 62 yrs! I THINK NOT! When I was very young Elvis sang this live on the Ed Sullivan show! That was a variety show on tv! But because of his "obscene " gyrating dance moves (as the critics called them)...they would only show Elvis from the waist up! He may be gone ...but his music will never die! If you want a very heartfelt song from Elvis....react to Love Me Tender which was one of his very 1st songs!

    • @daveeller9708
      @daveeller9708 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually it was the third and final appearance on Sullivan that was filmed from the waist up. The first two were in all his glory. Also Love Me Tender was one of his first RCA titles. He had already been singing for a few years professionally before with Sun. Check out some of the Louisiana Hayride stuff from much earlier. You'll enjoy it.

    This is one of my favourites as well. So good that you have discovered how talented he was. Would like to put forward ‘New Orleans’ from the film King Creole for a more ‘bluesy’ style. (Liked the comment “He’s got the moves - which I haven’t got”).

    Check out this for reacting to:
    Here’s the scene from the movie “King Creole” (1958) in which Elvis sings “Trouble”.
    The entire scene is around 7 minutes long, but it gives a background and leads into the song itself.

    When Elvis first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show, he was only filmed from the waist up because his "gyrating" was considered indecent. I was young but I can still remember that performance.

  • @chadkeener1005
    @chadkeener1005 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I forgot how great this performance really is. As I've matured, so has my tastes in Elvis music. I prefer his 70s live performances and his late 60s bluesy numbers. When I first started dating my wife 20 years ago, the first thing I did to introduce her to elvis was make her watch this movie.

    I'm a very big Elvis fan. The age gap between him and me is exactly 30 years. When I was a kid of 5 years old I saw him for the first time in concert in Las Vegas. Later 4 more times. Now this song is of 1957. In the 50's there were 2 icons who made all the difference for the youth, and that's James Dean and Elvis Presley and they had a profounding effect on the lives of young people and they still do it is amazing. Now Elvis was also overwhelming because Elvis was the first male singer loved by boys and girls. Music was very big in these days and young people took it very seriously. They saved their pocketmoney for to go in the weekends to a pub, bar and they went to the jukebox. Before Elvis, boy would choose a female singer like Doris Day, Patti Page, and girls went for Frank Sinatra, Perry Como. Till Elvis came and he put them together. There was no hesitation for Elvis stuff. Believe me, he was and is still unbelievable. Elvis was revolutionnary, he changed the way of listening to music and had a profounding effect on our lives, emotionally, culturally, spirationally...

    You'll find that if you make a list of your favorite Elvis songs in running order from 1 to 700 and something, Put it down on paper, You'll have it made ///// However, As you listen to more Elvis songs, You'll soon find out that you need to move a few around, As you will soon find out that after a few other songs go by, You'll change a few again, Just because, Well, they'll just fit better if you do a new line up That's all,, Simple, RIGHT ?///// However you'll soon find out that after a few other songs you play he did go's by, You again will have to move a few around to fit your new line up. Very good, OK All set, NO WAIT, There is this one song that will not leave your head. Of course no list is correct with out making sure it all fits your, Lets say 1-50 out of the 700 plus favorite list AT-LEAST, RIGHT ? However to save sometime on this list thing, You'll want to shorten it to maybe your favorite 25 list As it should be easy to do 25 I mean after all he is only human.... RIGHT ? I mean all his song can't be that good, Simple. You should be able to get this done over let's say a weekend, HELL, That should be EASY to Do RIGHT ?, After all your just trying to list songs he did for {CRIME AND ITALY} RIGHT !!!!! But then the weekend comes and go's by so fast, Although you tried many times to get it done, At the last minute you realized it just does not line-up right. So you keep going and as you continue to try to put on paper this list, You listen to more songs of Elvis, While your doing your list as it seems you just for the Fu***** life of you, Can't seem to stop listening to this,This, This,This Insane man singing his ass off, As you start to realize you'll will never be able to make a perfect list from one to 700 and something.... As Elvis is singing in your ear making your moods change ,Then of-course your rhythm, Then he screws with your style and Elvis's ability to make you feel the song, As if he was singing it as you would sing it { IF YOU COULD SING LIKE HIM } HOLY CRAP, He just will not give you a brake!!!! Sing, Sing, Sing Is that all that man can do!!!! I mean He gets in my head and I can't get him out, So I play that song in my head and then of course some more to get it out of my head, But then I have more in my head, I MEAN IS THAT ALL THAT MAN CAN DO IS SING, SING, SING, HOLY CRAP !!! And I still have to get my list together,
    It looks like there is only on simple answer, And Elvis said it best. They asked him what was his favorite song, /////// HE SAID, { THE ONE I'AM SINGING } . many times you had said now { THIS IS ONE OF MY TOP 10 SONGS } So OK, I know what I will do, I will do a list of my 5 favorite songs of his, 5 favorite songs that way I will have a start on my 700 plus favorite song list of Elvis's RIGHT !!!! Hope to hell I can get a list even 5 favorite songs, Every time I decide yes this is it Nope then its not , I hear more songs of his. Even then I can hear the same song, I heard before but a different recording time and it throw's it all off again. He is the person that left the world his gift for all to see and hear , Elvis was a very humble man set to music and just wanted to share his God given gift with the world.The Answer is you can't make a top 10 or even a top 5 list. You can only flip from one song to another as it changes as Elvis changes your mood with his. 700 and plus songs by the time you get from top to bottom or bottom to top it all changes and it all-way will....... THIS IS ELVIS, Entertainer of the Millennium !!!! SIMPLE, forget the list there can be no particulate order as it all-way's changes no matter what !!

    So many trys to imitate his moves, some are close but NO ONE can now or ever move like "The King of Rock n Roll" Elvis Presley..he's a legend..i was 7yrs old when I first heard him sing and dance. Whilst all the other kids would go to the park, if their was an Elvis concert on or his movies I wouldn't go. I stayed home just to watch him, even if I've seen them a million times..and once I got married we went to Graceland, it was a dream come true for me..I've always wanted to go since I was a little girl..is you've never been it soooo worth going..my first record for my record player was "Blue Suede Shoes" I'd play it over and over again lol I never cried so hard when this amazing man died.. But he lives on and will forever. They're alot of good singers, but now there's alot of technology that singers use to lip sync, or to heighten their voices..Elvis Presley was pure natural..RIP Elvis Presley.

    Cockney greetings to you guys up north, love what you're doing. A couple of left-of-field suggestions for you: "Starnegr In My Hometown" and "I Got A Feeling In My Body". You will be surprised at what you hear. And then of course, maybe you might like to try the infamous "laughing" version of "Are You Lonesome Tonight". Good one fellas, keep it up!

    Elvis made this film age 22 in 1957 it was his 3rd movie sadly his 24 year old co-star judy Tyler died a week later in a car crash with her husband 3 months before the films release date.

    I read that Elvis was really worried about performing this dance routine. He needn't have worried imo, I think he made it his own and it's such an iconic performance that's only synonymous with Elvis!

    If you look at it closely again, you will see Elvis doing the "Moonwalk" *which was invented in Harlem in the 1930's) SIDEWAYS - not backwards as we are used to seeing it.

    Elvis took the brunt of criticism back in the day when you weren't allowed to move to much when you were singing. He was called vulgar and some television stations band him Lol can you imagine compare to what they do today?
