I mean it's the type of game where what you see is pretty much what you get. Go in, fuck around, have fun. Not much too it. Considering how sad the current state of multiplayer FPS is, I'd say a mindless fun game is good enough for me.

the abilities are from different ubisoft titles so it makes sense theres shield ands heals but since the game dropped the tom clancy title i think they can introduce new abilities.

I think things will be interesting when Black Ops 6 comes out. Xdefinant vs a CoD thats been in development for 4 years might be tough. Ngl
Xdefiant since the first beta has been a fresh breath of air... the games only going to get better if they continue to update and add content

This is so much better than cod. No tracer packs no bundles that are p2w just pure cosmetics. I love the ow inspiration as a ow fan. Tbh its an amazing game
There are already plenty of games that wipe CoD as far as enjoyment goes. CoD's issue is that it's the most basic generic shooter on the market, which is a good and bad thing. It's good because the ease of access and the fairly low skill ceiling (in casual) makes it so anyone can hop in and play. The problem is that you can only innovate on that formula so much before you just make an entirely new game at that point, so Xdefiant being a CoD clone (generic shooter countering a generic shooter) isn't really that appealing to me.
9:39 there's a faction that can make opponents abilities work for your team or disable all opponents' abilities using their ult, there's another faction that can go invisible, another faction that has higher base health and lastly, the faction that has incendiary rounds. He could himself play as the faction with the shields, they also have a mobile shield. Moreover, there's EMP grenades that disable all abilities within affecting radius.
If all of those don't make him be able to counter the barrier shields, then I don't know what exactly these "pros" think is a better game design. Dude hasn't even seen the most annoying ability yet and starts complaining about shields and heals. I don't follow CoD and popular FPS content creators for this exact reason. Only FaZe Jev and M3RKMUS1C seem to be decent guys, whom I discovered thanks to this game.

They should definitely add an character who can emp those shields with an op gun
There's already a faction that can switch the shields so they become your team's shields.

Proximity mines and shields ruin the game for me. The opaque recoil on automatics is really lame too. The camera recoil is fake, and the actual recoil is random

No SBMM automatically elevates XDefiant above other FPS games for me. I'm so sick and tired of gaming companies trying to design every aspect of a game around addiction and hyper controlled experiences

@@LordAtlas10 CoD is a casual shooter, it is designed for casuals through and through. Every single thing they implement is to keep people interested in the game and keep the money flowing in, they have never made a change to CoD to positively impact it's competitive integrity since the day that it was conceived. SBMM was implemented into games to benefit casuals specifically. So they don't end up in games with sweats and still have a good enough time that they want to get back on and play it the next time. It wasn't done for competitive reasons lol
For me it isn't even a question, because I refuse to play even one frame of any Activision/Blizzard product. Why would I if they're just going to leverage my engagement or take any money that I spend and use it to sexually harass their female staffers? CoD is copy and paste geometry viewed through a 15 year old game engine. They have no talent left, all their best developers have moved on.
Activision/Blizzard cannot get a dime out of me but I'm poised to drop a couple of hundred on Ubisoft because, to the best of my knowledge, the folks over at Ubisoft aren't chasing skirts around desks day in and day out.
