Thank you for your video! I visited Korea last year and bought a male thumb ring, I didn't know how to use it, your video helps me understand the technique.

nice video, thank you. question on the 'fastening belt' for male thumb ring. does it work only to fix the thumb ring so it won't move or what's the exact purpose of having it? It's king of big and I'm thinking whether you won't be able to use it without it .. thanks and have a great day!

Thanks for the comment. Yes, you are right. That fastening leather is for shock-absorbing from hard horn material and spacer between thumb and ring. Whenever I feel the thumb ring, human-beings are very intellectual animal!!

Great Video! I didn't know that there are male and female rings.

Greetings from Australia. Thanks for the great video. One question. Did Mongols and other peoples who use the thumb draw use a ring or just have tough thumbs?? I tried without a ring and it hurts pretty badly.

As far as I know and when I have seen Chinese and Mongol traditional tournaments, they seem to shoot wearing recurve finger tab. Of course some archers may use thumb rings. Any comments from Chinese and Mongolian traditional archers is welcome.

Historically speaking, Koreans, Mongols, Manchus, Turks, and Chinese all used thumb rings. And they all had their unique designs.

Thanks for sharing. Can you explain the nock on the string. Is it just one? What is the wrapping on each side of the arrow?

    • @KpopLyrics365

Thanks for the message. The nock is normal insert nock, but its groove is a little larger than that of normal recurve(compound) arrows. So, we put additional serving on the nocking part. The point of the arrow is not pointed, but rounded for bouncing on the hit or miss target. Enjoy it!!

@@KpopLyrics365 Thanks for the reply. That does help me. I have been using regular nocks and the new Vermil U-nocks. I think I need to order some of the traditional Korean Arrows. I have noticed they have wider nocks. I think those would be fun.

How can one order the sugakji (male thumb ring) that was used for demonstration? I really like the design, but can't seem to find it online. Any way to purchase for delivery to USA?

Try “Ace Archery” or “Kaya Archery” (Korean website).

That appears to be more twist of the string than I had expected.

You are very much right. My wife is drawing the string too much twisting it. In spite of my advice, she cannot amend it.

@@ronsarchery6378 Twisting too much while drawing is not recommendable. So, in my opinion, you'd better not try nor think of it.
