I'm like 8 years on my pair of Tech 7s. Absolutely love them. You can't find a more comfortable boot. I'm not an AMA Pro so I'd take the comfort and flex over the stiff Tech 10. Can't wait to get myself a pair of these.
@@rmatvmc Lol 8 years ain't anything to brag about. My original Tech 3s from 1990 went well over 10 years (the first three years were 4-6 days a week riding or racing) and the leather and soles are still good. Only the straps broke down and by the time they did they weren't available anymore. If I could have replaced the straps I'd still be wearing them today. I have a pair of Gaerne SG-1s that had about a season on them and they are as worn out as my old Tech 3s. I expect my current Tech 7s (with much less riding at my age, 62) to outlast me.
Go up one size or one half size from normal. I wear 10.5 in street shoes and 11s in A stars and the A stars fit perfectly. (And my feet are a bit wide as well.)
A stars are like nikes in the fit department. If you get wide enough you have way to much room in front of the toe, if you get the length right it’s just not quite wide enough. It’s to bad really. The tiny calf opening bothers me more though.
Wore the 7’s for many years still have a pair, great boots all around and especially for enduro / trail riding. But after owning the Tech 10’s with their infinite level of support I struggle switching back. Riding with the 7’s feels like Timberland’s at first after wearing the 10’s for a while.
Just when you thought AStar couldn't improve this boot any better....shazam! here they are! Love my Tech 7s a lot, I have both MX and Drystar models, they are my go to boot for riding in any conditions! Do these 2024 updates make their way to the Drystar Model for us Enduro Riders? I got a pair of Tech 7s Enduro Drystar in Desert Sand, but would absolutely welcome the Drystar in a bright white (that is my go to color)
I have ridden with Astars since 1990. I love everything about them, with one exception...no matter what, they stink bad after only a few rides. Other riders with them say the same. But if it comes down to great protection vs. smelly boots....I'll gladly put up with the smell. 😂 And yes, I've tried all the options like powders, inserts and boot dryers.
Sounds weird but to me these look similar to the old tech 7's, yet they also look 10X's better at the same time haha. Hope there's more colorways coming down the pipeline soon!
They do look close to the older tech 7's. The gloss look of the newer ones really pop. As of right now Alpinestars only has the four colorways. Thanks for watching!
last major update to the Tech 10 was around 2018(ish). That boot will probably be updated pretty soon too I would guess. And yes, I would say the Tech 10 has slightly better feel than the Tech 7. - Chase
Looking forward to the new Alpinestars Tech 7 Drystar boots vs the new Gaerne SG-22 Enduro Gore-Tex boots. :) What can I say? I live and ride in a rainforest!
I'm confused about sizing? You say true to size but there chart doesn't measure up to my feet ? I am a 10.5 us/9.5 /44 eu but the chart says a 9 US. Some reviews say come up small get size down others say size up or true to size ? Any advice would be good thanks !
Yes, they'll work with knee braces, but they do have a smaller calf opening compared to other premium boots. If you have a "normal" size calf, you should just fine. - Chase
If I was choosing between those two, I would have to pick the Leatt simply because they calf opening on the Tech 7 is too small for my legs with a brace on. If the Tech 7 had a larger opening, I would probably go with those. - Chase

I might have to pick up a pair of these. Alpinestars always has the best colorways.
Can confirm, these are the most comfortable boots ever.
I wish they would do half sizes or wide versions

Yeah but some prefer for flex and comfort

I'm not sure when, but I'd assume they plan to make a WP version of this boot eventually. Glad to hear your like your Tech 7s so much! - Chase

6:08 sounds like Levi kitchen needs some tech 7 (his boot came undone during supercross this year)
Too bad PC riders have to wear Fox head to toe
Astars make the best mx boots period
They make some great boots for sure!

Wich it's your the top once confortable boot?
Looks similar to a 10 year old Sidi Crossfire SRS. Guess that’s a good thing.
I’ve tried a pair of these and the top of the boot sits right below my knee.

@@rmatvmcis the tech 10 better for calf opening? The old tech 7s where difficult for me to get the Velcro to touch and do up properly

Alpinestars has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Just a heads up. Love my Gaerne SG12s though.
