I used this strategy my second time playing the game first i used shining so when crow attacks he may miss then i used gale slash and make the gale slash go to the maximum distance because this causes crow to waste his turns moving towards me instead of attacking. In the turns where he wastes his turns i use shining, impassion and attacking him with arts and also using gale slash again when he gets close to me
Kinda wish to a similar vein of crow and joker's "duel" in P5 royal, I wish in cs 1 crow and rean had a lovely "gamble"(maybe even over the 50 mira that crow... "Lost")

I redid this in a few months back in nightmare with only a starer set.. here'd the catch a fully quartz rean using rebellion MQ with and spamming arc slash
What all the other guys said, it’s called Evasion Tank. A strategy created since Trails from Zero. Shining didn’t exist yet, Evasion Tank isn’t broken it’s a MUST have to survive in Nightmare in the Crossbell Arc and Cold Steel forward, because you cannot tank the damage regardless of defense
PopCanMan2 busted is a exaggeration you NEED Evasion tank to survive in Nightmare period. If you fought Steel Maiden in Trails to Azure you definitely know what I’m talking about

Guess you played on normal since it doesn't require much strat to beat it, but shining is one of those arts you should know very well otherwise. Still I would advise you read what every single art can do in order to take advantage of what the game has to offer.

I kinda assume in my head canon that this was how this fight played out(to empathize how op rean could be if he could fully harness his "hulk" mode)
Whoa! Rean is stronger against Crow with his power! This became a 1v1 battle. A fair one too.
Fair if you don't count the Power Boost from his Ogre Power as a Bonus.

Murakumo (mostly) + raise evasion to 45/50% and critical as high as possible.
