      Brit here. Noah's literal job is to be funny, which thought he did very well. I laughed out loud a few times. I agree racism in the UK, is different to the USA or South Africa. The novelist Will Self, who self-identifies as half Jewish says, the difference in the UK is, if you're minority ethnic, they don't like you *personally*. I.e. apart from nutters who call radio stations, it's much more subtle. Having said that, I genuinely don't like Sunak personally. I think he's an incredibly right wing madman, like all his predecessors were, for the last twelve years. That's including the women.

The German origin British royal family did not earn their own wealth. The Johnson and Goldsmith family did not face discrimination for their skin colour, yet Sunak has still superseded them in wealth. It’s important when one is so privileged, to use their wealth wisely, Prince William is starting to do that with his recent project to tackle homelessness in the UK. Maybe Sunak could be more charitable, but I don’t resent him for the fortune his family has amassed as it was through their own hard work. Imagine someone correcting a racist that Sunak is British, then less than 60 seconds later calling him Indian. Can you imagine that? What would you call a person like that? Hypo--something? hypocri. . .? Oh yeah, I remember, they are called Trevor Noah

  • @meh3247
    @meh3247 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You can make it all about race if you want Trevor, but you're missing a few key things that are the real reason why many of us non racist British don't like him.
    1) He was a hedge fund manager during the 2008 financial crash and made obscene amounts of money from the misery of millions of other people.
    2) He said, as you showed, that he works for his party - but the man is supposed to work for his country.
    3) This man represents the banks that run all our governments now, not just here but in America and many other countries too - and this is not just an erosion of democracy, _it is an hostile take over._
    Let's not celebrate just because he's brown, eh? He is brown by a complete accident of birth, it signifies nothing to a non racist. Let's not celebrate because he is obscenely wealthy eh? Wealth is a signifier of inhumanity (A pound hoarded by a millionaire, is a pound denied the use of by a working, yet starving family.). These things would be short sighted, weak and populist.
    I say watch the man do something first, and let's not celebrate the fact that a notorious bunch of right wing racists tories were forced (against their will) to choose the loser of their latest leadership contest. Jacob Rees-Mogg resigned rather than serve in the Cabinet under a brown man, he is obviously a right wing racist.
    This man Sunak is Prime Sinister by default only - and he hasn't done anything yet. What is to celebrate? The fact that he was accidentally born brown, and his party were forced to choose him? Seems like an odd thing to celebrate Brother.
    Watch the mans actions before you leap to mere, cheap populist entertainment.
    I know I am.
    Peace.

In other words, Sunak has inherited an economy in the same position as he left if when he left office as chancellor. Therefor to blame Truss is complete nonsense.
