    I need help Hello, I am a patient who underwent laser vision correction using the TransPRK StreamLight method, during which the Bowman's membrane is removed, does the lack of this membrane affect my life? Before the surgery I asked my doctor about it and said it was irrelevant now after reading various articles and research that making the eye right, preventing corneal fogging, and filtering the UV light entering the eye. Do you know how until then? Regards

    Thanks for the video! Ive worn ortho k lenses for 15 years and have mostly astigmatism with some myopia. Hoe long would you recommend i wait until doing lasik or prk, and would you recommend one or the other in this situation?

      I would recommend waiting a full two weeks without ortho-K before you have a comprehensive eye exam with your optometrist. Have them then refer you for a laser vision correction consultation. The eye surgeon will usually recommend LASIK unless your cornea is on the thinner side or there is a irregularity detected on your corneal scan that you may benefit from the PRK procedure instead. In other words, go with what the surgeon suggests! Best of luck ☺️

    Thank you for such an informative video.
    I am 26 year old with shortsightness and astigmatism, been wearing Ortho K for 14 years. I am deciding between TransPRK and PRK (I have seen 2 different clinics that does them), but I don't know which one is better in terms of success rate (better vision) / less long term side effects / regression. Do you know much about TransPRK vs PRK?

      The short answer is that there are no clinically significant differences between the visual outcome and safety of the TransPRK and the PRK techniques. To read up on the minor differences of the procedure and the recovery between the methods, you can refer to the article below:

      I've had PERFECT EYESIGHT MY WHOLE LIFE😍👁👁, so maybe I'm not one to answer. But, in MY naked eyes😳👀, it's probably best if you just get glasses.😇

    Is lasik better than PRK?

    • @wearetheborg
      @wearetheborg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      result is same, prk littlebit safer but it has longer recovery time

      PRK disrupts corneal structure affecting epithelium, Bowman's membrane, and anterior stroma. Corneal wound healing is a very complex process. Post-PRK corneal regeneration might occur with many inflammation and complications.

      @@user-of4lq6sz1c So you think lasik is better than PRK? doesn't lasik have higher risk of dry eyes, halos, tissue gets destroyed, etc?

      Any type of refractive eye surgery is dangerous and will most likely cause you some type of complications. You may end up with life altering complications that will effect every aspect of your life. Just stick with your glasses or soft contact lenses. It’s 100% not worth getting your only pair of eyes sliced open. She doesn’t care about you or she wouldn’t be promoting these surgeries and would actually tell you the truth about what they are really like.
