That's a really beautiful solo violin! It's awesome that there are 5 different moods for the legato, I think I especially like the emotive style! This would fit really well into the music I like to write. It's also great that it includes other articulations as well and I actually really like that it comes in a dedicated plugin. I'm 61 years old now and creating a stunning rendition of Danse Macabre by Saint-Saëns is on my bucketlist. The whole backing track is finished but no virtual solo violin has cut it so far. I have this sumption that the Bohemian Violin could finally help me out..🤞

This library sounds so good! I'd honestly use it for most of my stuff, its very versatile and would fit in well with many moods and styles.
I heard this in someone's piece a few months back and its was incredibly impressive. I've wanted it since to use in some of my more mellow, lyrical compositions. Great review as always!

Switching between fingered legato and rebow with up and down bow samples is a great feature and sounds super convincing! I've been looking for a violin vi that can do this. Thank you for the review. :)
The versatile articulations sound like a great addition to any template. The clear sound would be great to add realism to a string ensemble, making it appear more lifelike.

I would love to use this for a symphonic suite - like you say, the Joshua Bell solo violin is great, superb even, but very specific and I agree, sometimes simplicity is king - this was a really nice walkthrough and the musical motifs you sprinkled throughout this video were also really enjoyable! My go-to solo violin has always been the Emotional/Intimate Violin from Harmonic Subtones but, this may soon take it's place. Thanks for the review! Sounds amazing!

This is definitely one of the best violin solo library out there ! Since it sounds quite dry, with just a bit of mixing, it should allow it to blend in any orchestral piece very nicely.

A good "all purpose" violin library! Even when using chamber formation, it sounds very nice.
This violin has an incredibly clear tone. It reminds me of something from Lord of The Rings. I would definitely use it in an orchestral or solo context, it certainly has that flexibility.
Love this! Would use it solo melodically in front of a piano accompaniment!
One thing that my template is lacking.. a good solo violin. The sound quality of this instrument will blend perfectly with my orchestra and would put that extra splash of color when needed! Thanks for this giveaway and overview!

There is no one solo instrument that replaces all solo instruments, but this would be a nice addition to my library. I don’t really have a dedicated solo violin library yet.
Sounds nice, with some nice variety in play style. Obviously I'd use this as a distinct solo instrument. Probably in a metal or ambient drone setting.

I've discovered this library a few weeks ago, but it's still a little outside my price range since i am mostly using free libraries. I'd love to use it for all kinds of orchestral pieces, or just as solo violin with a piano accompaniment.

A solo violin always comes in handy, hopefully it would be a go-to when needing a violin.
These are amazing. The violin is the only library that has been able to impress my violinist friends.
Bought them on release and they were amazing then, even better now.
The most realistic results with the least amount of effort compared to other libraries.
But it does have some quirks of course, and it is a bit over the top in some settings. But it’s worth the money many times over in my opinion.
Waiting for the viola. But they are quite slow with their development so I might have to wait for some time. But with the result they get it is truly worth it.
Funny that you were scared of it not being a Kontakt library. To me that’s a big plus. 😄
They actually said that they would not be able to do this in Kontakt.
I’m a bit sad that they left UVI, but I appreciate the much improved loading time.
The amount of sensitivity you can reach on this solo instrument is pretty impressive
This is a library I've been looking at for a long time, but the price always made me hesitate as I don't have a ton of pocket money at the moment. However, I couldn't pass up on the chance to win it for free. It sounds amazing!
Simply the most "fool me" violin sample library and also it seems super easy to play and program.
What i would use it for?......every solo exposed violin part most likely...like every one of them.

First of all, thanks for these giveaways. I’m going for this one and if I were to win it this would be my very first solo violin library. Seeing that it offers so much I guess it could even be used as an all purpose solo violin library that would fit well in various genres.

This would just be my workhorse solo violin. The expression is amazing.
I looked into this a long time ago it looks really nice how the performer works similar to josh bell violin, different tone completely, I like how this library can turn into an ensemble as well. Very useful library that I think anyone into this stuff would love to have. Their Cello is supposed to be upgraded sometime as well isn't it?
Cello is upgraded. Viola is soon to come out and available at a very good price at this point. They are by far the most expressive of all instruments. I spent many thousands on string libraries. This is in a class by itself
I first learned of this library in 2020 & that early version sounded great, so it's mind-boggling how such the perfect sounding solo violin sample library has flown under-the-radar for so long, maybe due to it being non-Kontakt or Joshua Bell sounding like the end-all be-all so no need to look for anything else, but in this case that's the wrong mindset!
I really like to write for solo violin but it is very hard to get even mediocre sound with cheap libraries. This looks very versatile and would be a huge leap forward!
So realistic the best bank in this category with their cellos. I would use for many styles but right now more for wedding music. ^^

I would use this for passionate solo performances that I want to stand out a little bit in front of everyone else.

It is easy to use and sounds good right out of the box. The automatic articulations are a breeze and one can just focus on playing. I am looking forward to the viola and I will get it with the cello on the same time.

i would really love to win this and have it become my new go to violin. its so deep and theres so much you can do. I currently have spitfire solo violin, i dont love it and i dont find the tone to be super great. This would be a big upgrade for me

Hey Chris. I am enjoying my new Bohemian Violin very much. Thank you for your demonstration. My only disappointment is that it does not appear to be 'NKS compatible' (works with Native instruments). I have the new Native Instruments S61 Mk lll Keyboard on its way which has very powerful features for working with not only its own N.I. libraries but also 3d part libraries. The only catch is that they must be 'NKS compatible'. I wondered if you had any insight into this.
Hello friend, one question, can you select, for example, legatos, and have them remain permanently marked? I would like to play the selected legato, but without having to hold the key down with my finger all the time, do you know how to keep it fixed?
Hi Chris, I'd really appreciate it if you could answer this - Does the Bohemian violin have multiple dynamic layers? Has Virharmonic recorded the instrument at different volumes, so it has a silky soft feel when quiet then a more sharp and bold feel when louder? This is my only gripe with some other solo libraries from other companies, they have excellent legatos etc, but either no authentic dynamic layers or dynamic layers which aren't smooth, so you have less control. So my question is does this violin have smooth dynamic layers? Many thanks!

It's the best for long notes indeed! But the best violin sample library for short notes is Solisti from Salm Audio Tools! Three short articulations that flow together perfectly! 3264 real samples, 16 round robins and a purely dry sound! 😎

Yes.... Joshua Bell is pretty close but for ultimate expressiveness... THIS is the one. Virharmonic has continued to refine and update their products over the past several years. Updates are free! It's an amazing small company creating wonderful instruments like no other.

Pretty good - but I still think Vienna Instruments solo violin is the best. I bought it way back in 2013 I think
don't you feel the legatos are a bit out of tune? .. the Bohemian Cello is perfect.. I just don't know why the violin and viola can't be the same !

I almost feel like I would actually need to learn the violin to give this library justice 😅 I don't have a solo strings library yet haha but I would use it to create softer more intimate pieces.
