Hits Radio rebrand in the North East - 17 April 2024

At 6 am on 17 April 2024 a number of Bauer owned UK radio stations rebranded as Hits Radio including, as in this recording, TFM and Metro with Steve and Karen

Talking as if it is something new and exciting that is just launching, but it's the same as the previous day and the way it has been for the past 4 years or so, the opt out breakfast show and the other Hits Radio shows that used to air just with the local station names dropping in.

Further to this the remaining presenters are required to have a love in with the takeover of their station and talk about it on air as if it is the second coming, yet their remaining one local slot will also be gone as soon as OFCOM rolls over again.

Such a shame that a brilliant north east brand has been destroyed by this complete rubbish. Metro back in the day was superb with Tony Horne, Brian Moore, Wayne and night owls. The new brand is just constant repeats and pushing that awful cash competition.
