I think it is quite save to say that the Alphas are their friends who died and got reanimated by some probably nanobots. You can actually look close to the design of the first Alpha they faced in the demo and compare it with the other fallen soldiers.
Fun fact her Naytiba design is based off of Mary Magdalene skull statue. This game has a lot of biblical references. Eve and Adam, the most obvious one.
I wished they made the eyes more cybernetic because her face is normal but how cool would it have been if her eyes were glowing yellow before she puts the mask on.
I saw the gameplay trailer and the other trailer when it was still called Project Eve... Back then... No one care about this part of the trailer... But after the Demo came out... I was like...
