Love this gun, I have one and love it. I don't care much for the 3-point sling so the absence of the 3rd sling swivel doesn't bother me. However, one thing that does is that it can't be loaded via stripper clips. Yes I know it's mag fed, which is great, but having the ability to load the mag through the breach of the gun with the mag in place with a stripper clip would be a great option. This is a feature that I believe a true scout rifle should have
It's not 1914 any longer. If you have spare mags, what's the point? Stripper clips overall are fragile things that require a special pouch or way to carry. Practically every service rifle that used strippers had a fixed magazine. The SMLE had a detachable mag, but the rifle was not issued with spares. (It was removeable for servicing and cleaning only). The M14 had both, but the guide was primarily intended to make it a little more convenient, when you had to repack your mags. Seems this scout rifle craze is just a commercial marketing ploy. Certainly 90% Make-Believe. I just see a scout as a handy hunting rifle of a different flavor.
i agree with you on rule number one ; all guns are loaded i drill this rule into my son and grandson constantly ; so many unloaded guns have hurt people ; good video
When I have my bolt back all the way there is about 1/2" play either way. Ruger has assured me that this is "normal". However every video I have watched with the Gun Site Scout, including this one, your bolt, when all the way back does not appear to have any movement. Since you are from Ruger, could you advise me what to do with this newly purchased, unfired rifle? Thanks
Currently I am using the vortex strike eagle traditional style mounting on my Ruger gunsight scout rifle chambered in .308/7.62 NATO. I have the model with an 18 inch barrel all stainless steel with a wooden composite stock. My question to you would the rifle be more enjoyable to shoot if I was to get the Vortex scout scope and do the forward style mounting which is half the cost of my current vortex strike Eagle ? The Strike eagles magnification is 1-6x & I believe the Vortex scout scope would be 2-7x I'm also trying to teach myself how to shoot both of my handguns with both eyes open. I was told that's the best way to shoot especially in a critical self defense type of situation. I am led to believe if I do forward style mounting and set up my gunsight scout rifle the way it's intended to be used I can also keep both eyes open which would mean much faster target acquisition is this true ?
I'm going to start off the video with safety rules, especially know your target and what's around it (aka what lays beyond) and then load my rifle while it points over the back stop...... They kill me.
No hizo ningun disparo con el rifle....solo hablo apresuradamente como los que venden comida en los restaurantes para autos. Muy pobre video...raro en Ruger

THere is a video of a guy loading with stripper clips on into a five round poly mag. Search the channel "TheKirbyCreekOutfit"

She's amazing, what's her story?
I think she fought American GI's as a little girl in Nam.
Damn she don't mess around when working that bolt! 0_o
I'm in love.
Yeah, that firearm is beautiful.
Should of published these videos when the Scout came out.

WE'RE AT THE RANGE
Thanks for the super video. :)
Good video
I cannot get past those huge ear muffs.
Can anyone tell me the make and model of the optic on the rifle featured in the video?
Where did they get this guy?
L.O.frkn. L Thank you so much for the L.M.A.O moment. My question is, can He even shoot? It's odd they left that part out of the series of video's.
Y'all do realise its a woman in the video.
@@1991jarhead WHOOOSH
cool rifle.
Be careful. Not sure thats enough hearing protection
Has ruger fixed their magazines? It seems that all sorts of people are having loading problems and blame the rifle when it's the magazine.
Has Ruger fixed the 77 based action yet?
Trying to be an SKS?? Are you crazy? This is such a higher quality rifle...there isn't any comparison.
Holy anal moly. Mild overkill no? Unfun girl she is.
What’s not to like about this video?
Wow that was painful...
What a tease. All that fondling of the gun, but no money shot.
Extreme safe ........LMFAO
She needs bigger hearing protection lol
My opinion was that this rifle was useless, but the shooting public loves it, so do i know

Looks like this rifle is trying to be SKS ..
Jungle Carb.
those earmuffs...
I want my 2:36 back....
Geez,,, the SKS is a semi auto, the Ruger Scout rifle is bolt action. Your talking apples and oranges!
