Awesome podcast as always... I wish everyone on 22shots of moodz and horror podcast a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year 2025... Happy New Year... much love and respect.. Thank you for a great 2024..
Me and my girl do this countdown every year starting in June and each week is a different sub genre, like for instance we're do G is for Giallo and B is for Blood week and we will do this for 13 weeks straight. Then come October we're watch close to 200 movies and then Christmas horror come December. So yeah a ton of horror films. And yeah it really messes with you after awhile. Great show lads. Can't wait for the top ten of 2024.
Greetings from Belgium. I love your podcasts. Keep up the good work. About the movie "Deadly Games" (French title: 36.15 Code Pére Noël) a bit of information. In the eighties in France, their was a sort of internet before the internet that we know today, called 36.15 Minitel. You had to buy a sort of computer, plug in at your phone connection, and you could talk to people who had the same device, and also could find some information a la Google.

They have become annual watches and even reading the original MR James stories. Great show guys. This was such a great idea for an episode. I hope ya’ll have a happy New Year!
I agree with JP, Gremlins is the #1 Christmas horror, and for those who accused him of picking a comedy, they probably forgot that they picked Beetlejuice as their top 1988 horror movie or best of the 80s horror or something! 😄
To be fair I'm the guy who always says it's very hard for a comedy to be my #1 horror film of any year This may actually be the first time this has happened to me. I honestly didn't even think about it until we mentioned it on the show. I just knew my #1 going in
@@Moodz616 well if you remember correctly I decided to make the definitive best list for my favorites. Thought about doing it the other way but decided to just have the best list anyone could make instead.
One of my favorite episodes, calling Tyler pretentious all episode was hilarious. "How am I pretentious?" "So this movies juxtaposition, and the allegory between the scenery. Hilarious shit
I live in Los Angeles and have gone to the New Beverly Cinema to see their annual double feature of "Black Christmas" (1974) and "Silent Night Deadly Night" for the past several years. It's not only the best fun to watch these films with an audience but to also see Robert Wilson come out and speak before us. Yes, he is truly grateful and amazed at the continued popularity of the film even though he said his neighbors have no idea he was in the film.
Man, Gremlins is a twice-a-watch every year. Of course I was 9 when it came out and carried a plastic Gizmo everywhere with me. Great gateway horror film. I might attribute it to bringing me a love of being scared.

I’m actually curious what this is, I think you might actually be talking about Happy Hour cause it’s 5 hours long, really popular, and it has an explosive dinner scene. But the entire movie isn’t a dinner scene
@@mikeyfishhorror3635 Ya the movie sucks then cause it’s unintentionally funny then. There is just noway the directer didnt know what he was doing with those scenes hahaha!!!

I have no idea how Tyler is defining the horror genre here. Psychological thriller at best, more of a character-study drama. Imho Rare Exports is extremely overrated, I do not need to see a mob of naked old men running around ever again.
It is simple really. I find Wake in Fright to be scarier and more disturbing than any other movie on my list or any other film mentioned throughout the show. I’ve always been charitable to the idea of being alone isolated in a place where “the civilized find themself trapped with the uncivilized” in regards to the horror genre and I do think there’s several scenes edited and presented in a way meant to be frightening.
I could see how Wake and Fright could be a horror film. I agree with Tyler that there are many parts of the film meant to be scary. It’s a different kind of horror but it’s a person sinking further and further into their own personal hell.
@@tylertadeo8336I'm all for defining the horror genre loosely, but this is beyond a reach. See this is why you get called pretentious lmao. It's not because the movies you pick are pretentious. Wake in Fright is not a pretentious movie, it is a very very good movie full of cogent commentary on the human condition, but you are putting it on this list because you are pretentious as a critic. You're putting it on a Christmas Horror movie Top 10 despite it not being horror and barely Christmas-related in order to create the pretension that you have more sophisticated and cultured and unique tastes than most people. And also to be a contrarian troll for your own amusement, I get it. In addition, you rate movies WAY too low. Like you give Inside a 7.5?!? That's 3.5 stars out of 5 Tyler, do you even like the movie? You can't bring yourself to give arguably the best French extreme film a nice round 4 stars out of 5 ffs? No, because you are too pretentious to do so. You lowball every damn rating to create the pretension that you only give high ratings to the absolute best movies, but you just end up literally underrating almost every movie. Like Inside is not 7/10, 7/10 is "average good", Inside is not average good, it is exceptional, a singularly visceral movie, stop being so pretentious and give it the credit it deserves, which is 8/10 MINIMUM damn you!!
