  • UPDATE: Should probably point out WHY you may want to do these mods, forgot to mention in the video...duh. Per Jeff Perrin over at Perrin, the OEM turbo inlet can have a crazy boost leak from the venturi system used to suck out fuel vapors. As well as doing a coolant bypass as the stock system runs hot coolant through it.
    As for Diverter valve, stock bypass valves from Subaru can tend to leak and this makes it a manual system, so it sounds and performs much more snappy.
    Here's me and David bumbling out way through the Diverter Valve and Turbo Inlet installed. Both available through Perrin, If not on their website yet, shoot them an Email or Phone Call!

    I'll be bumbling through this one soon, myself. Thanks for some insight!

      Its not too bad of an install. But it may be wise to pick up some 3/8 vacuum hose or even SLIGHTLY larger as the t fitting is TIGHT. My stock line that we cut into split within 60 miles and I have to replace it. This would be the hose with the pink line on it.

    Man thanks for adding this video. Is this diverter part not out for sale yet? At 8:27 min that just looks like such a headache mess of hoses...

      You can get the valve by calling or emailing them. They are not on the website yet. The hoses arent too bad once you figure out the proper one to tap into. The pink/yellow line if i recall right.

    No clamp on the hose coming out of the nipple? I would put one myself. Otherwise good video and good info, thanks!

      Does not call out for one, but I did end up tossing a zip tie on there when I was tossing the skid plate and dust shield back on.

    Hey man its been 3 months; so hows it been driving the car? And tuning wise, have you or your tuner observed anything? Im thinking of switching TO this from the GFB DV+ which im starting to see several complaints about from Audi and GTI owners that it fails and sticks over time.

      Zero issues to report. All has been strong and it still sounds great!

    Mine doesn’t have brake booster lines I think it’s all electric. Kinda panicking is there another line I can route this to?

      Do you have an automatic? If so I am not sure the answer there. You can reach out to Perrin and they should be able to sort you out.

    How hard was just to install just perrin inlet>? and you have to cut in all those lines just for inlet

      @DarkWolfWRX  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You tap onto the upper evap and brake booster hose for the turbo inlet(as you are deleting a venturi for the fuel system that tends to leak on the stock inlet, forgot to mention it in video).

      What does this do?

    • @DarkWolfWRX
      @DarkWolfWRX  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jedwin4816 the turbo inlet replaces the stock one, which has coolant running through it heating up the intake air(useful if you live in freezing conditions though) but also eliminates a venturi in the fuel system that is prone to leaking.
      The manual diverter valve replaces the stock valve(which can leak) with a much more snappy manual valve(hence tapping into the vacuum line) that will not leak and has more neat sounds(when combined with an intake).

      @@DarkWolfWRX how often does the OE one leak? How do you know if it does?

    • @DarkWolfWRX
      @DarkWolfWRX  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jedwin4816 i cant really say as to how often, mine hadn't shown signs of leaking prior to doing these(im still under 15k miles). As for how would you tell, on a stock car you probably wouldnt much, but a tuned car would be seen by the tuner or you would see the car not holding boost like it was prior to the leak.
      Ive been working with Perrin hence why I jumped on installing these now.

    Do the blowoff sounds change after the diverter valve install? Can you tell a difference in peak boost pressure? I got a measurable difference after installing the inlet.

    • @DarkWolfWRX
      @DarkWolfWRX  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The sounds do change a little. Its a more snappy crisp sound. As well as cruising at low vac numbers right before boost the valve will whistle a bit(normal) and sound cool as well haha. I have not really paid attention to peak boost pressure but I can take a look at the logs I sent over to Anthony.

      Thanks! @@DarkWolfWRX You mind sharing a link to the diverter valve? Not seeing one for the VB specifically.
