  • Returning to Lancashire to visit one of his all-time favourite contacts, Drew uncovers scores of great pieces. And while owner Eddie has a rock-solid negotiating strategy, Drew counters with a winning tactic of his own.
What would be your best-negotiating strategy?
From Season 5 Episode 5: Down the road in Cheshire, a 500-year-old Tudor manor is home to an impressive collection of furniture and artefacts. Drew vies for a pair of intriguing sculptures in the summerhouse. And, hoping to fill the van before heading back to the shop, the chaps stop in at a salvage yard in Kent where Drew uncovers a ragtag collection of rare finds and Victorian-era gems.
Salvage Hunters - Meet modern-day treasure hunter Drew Pritchard. With demanding customers, high turnover, and one of the biggest decorative salvage yards in the UK, Drew is constantly on the road, crisscrossing the country in search of derelict gems and forgotten remnants. Drew loves the thrill of the hunt and while he gets his hands dirty in the country’s architectural backwaters, his crack team of restorers is back at the shop giving old and rare finds a new lease on life.

That Eddie guy is a hoot. I love the way he deals with Drew- they really get along great.

As a long time watcher of Drew, it is unmistakable the difference between when he sets a price with a dealer and a civilian, he becomes a sort of a different person in dealing with them.

Много са досадни рекламите, когато гледаш със субтитри. На всяка трябва да ги включваш отново!

39:26 That’s a bookbinding press, not a printing press. It’s worth something because of the nice wheel, but not £400.

I love this series. It's humorous, educational and very entertaining. I must admit I would not buy any of the things but love to see what Drew buys and what he turns them into.

Does anyone else wonder about the lead content of the old paint on these pieces? Toxins?

That's what I thought. Way too small for a printing press.

Love love love your show, Drew, but it’s pretty unfair that the mariner’s light can get £1,200 after an afternoon’s work and you won’t pay £300 for it. I understand that you want to make a huge profit, but this guy wants to make a profit too.

You have no clue how expensive it is to run a business. Try it yourself and you will learn something.

costs: hourly wage for him and Tee, wage for the restorer, parts used in resto, petrol and food from the day's journey, taxes etc, misc business costs, and enough profit on the other side of that to fairly contribute to everything else (rent/rates/staff/utilities etc).

Bad teeth are all I can think about! Why are Brits so enthralled with this? It's very distracting for folks watching. I can't focus on the show because I'm waiting on another person with really bad teeth to show up. I'm just weird that way. I'm thinking a good dentist could make a million in Britain!!!!

I've known folks that visited Britain, and Brits don't like to bathe and use deodorant either. Bad BO everywhere you go isn't an attractive thing??? I'm not sure I understand that?????? Probably wouldn't visit it, similarly Grand Bahamas that I did visit and wouldn't EVERY go back. UNFORTUNATELY 😢
