It's wonderful to see 'living history'; architecture and landscape all preserved for hundreds of years with strict regulation alongside the dedicated care of sympathetic, educated, intelligent custodians. My husband and I will never tire of driving around the UK and just marvelling at all the hidden hamlets, gardens and grand homes open to the public. We all know there's some appalling history there but guess what: that's world history for ya, all over the globe. There's always complexities and horrors. It's important to see history for what it was, to keep learning and to maintain tangible things as a connection to the complex past, to learn and to enjoy things aesthetically for what they are too. I also get a kick out of knowing that for hundreds of years in the UK the average person (like you guys and my husband and I) would tip the housekeeper and be given a tour around a grand property when the owners were not in residence. I love it! In Jane Austen's time they were doing exactly what you two did here. I find that charming. England in the summertime...glorious. Glad I found your channel. 😊🤝

What a nice man, lovely family. So nice to go to a beautiful place to eat breakfast. Hands down, it's a great idea. Never have been attracted to funky places with questionable food. Rather go somewhere great, than just anywhere. It looks perfect starting with the coffee, presented UK style. And TY soooo much for the wonderful tour.
