Did you have any issues with elevated liver enzyme levels at the start of your journey?

Not that I remember. My naturopath ran all kinds of tests, and I had some issues come to light, but I don't remember that specifically. I'd have to go back and look at my labs.

@Olive Oil Hi! Yes, so that was one of my symptoms and very occasionally still is. When it happens, I tell my husband "it feels like my legs are a thousand pounds!!" So some of my symptoms simply took longer to improve. And I tried to remember it took me years to get as sick as I was and took years for symptoms to pop up so it's unrealistic for me to think that all my symptoms will go away at the same time as soon as I start eating and living differently. I recommend keeping a symptom journal with that symptom. It doesn't have to be anything fancy - just each day marking down your level on a scale of 1-10 severity, and making any notes and including notes of improvement, no matter how gradual. Also remember AIP lifestyle factors - sleep, stress, movement, etc. Generally speaking, if improvement isn't seen in 90 days of starting AIP, it's recommended to start troubleshooting. And of course, working with your medical team is important to monitor labs, and medications, etc.

@Olive Oil You're welcome! So happy to help! Living with Hashimoto's and autoimmune disease can feel so lonely - it's comforting to connect with others like us and know we are not alone. Reach out anytime. Big hugs! You got this! Xo, Shanna

I love how informative your videos are! My TSH was always above 4.5 but gradually got worse in the past 6 years and no one told me until i met a different doctor because i was never given my results. I always trusted them to tell me if something was wrong. It was 9 last year, 8.4 three months ago, and 7.7 just last week. It’s still sub clinical but i have great fatigue and have had brain fog for a while and memory loss that is getting worse. My t4 is normal so i was hesitant to go on levothyroxine but maybe it will help, I have not been tested for t3 levels. My endocrinologist listens to me and is very patient, I’m glad I have her.
Definitely gonna buy the book! Thanks shanna :)
