- Get ready for Thomas The Tank The Great Race with this rocket powered Super Fast Trackmaster Thomas toy. This Thomas Tank how to toy mod is pretty easy and once your Thomas is 9 volt battery rocket powered the fun really starts. Tender engines like Gordon, Edward, Henry, James, Hiro or Spencer may be perfect for this mod, but I'm pretty sure to win The Great Race Thomas needs to go super fast. Hopefully by seeing the way I troubleshoot problems in doing this rocket Thomas conversion you can see there is many ways to solve a problem. You don't need to do your mod exactly as I show. What is amazing is the simplicity of design of the Thomas & Friends Trackmaster 2 power core. There is no wiring and very few parts, it's very easy to troubleshoot if there was ever a problem. If your going to do this train mod just remember you may be shortening the life of your Thomas The Tank. My son has had a few weeks of play with this Thomas before this video was uploaded to TH-cam and it's still going strong. In fact my son wants me to convert all his Thomas trains to being super fast!

Hey Leokimvideo, I’ve been a fan for a long time for about 5 or 6 years I really don’t know, but watching some of your videos again, I realize you talking about demonetizing, personally I’ve never experienced Demonetization as I have never been Monetized on my main account Collin’s Tv Tube but feel bad for you, from what I can see nothing should be demonetizeable (I know that’s not a word.) in this video.

Thanks I modified one of my kid’s trains, it really works, and yes thank for for that tip on sanding down the positive terminals, it really made a difference when soldering.

I managed to make 2 trains with this mod, and while they are not nearly as elegant as this versions, it works quite well!
Wow! What a fun video! That is the honestly the fastest TM Thomas I've ever seen! Man, the speed is amazing haha. I think you've given the 'faster' on the TM2 description a whole new meaning haha. Incredible mod Leo! Now if only Mattel make something like this... Mmm, they should defs give you some royalties haha. Btw, where those Thomas Mini Launchers I saw during the end of the video? Personally I didn't like them, they didn't work for me. Ended up disposing of the launcher but keeping the awesome Minis themselves haha. Probs the only reason to buy the set IMO for those exclusive Minis. New Wave1 (2016) are gradually making in Australia. Coles I've heard are currently stocking. Codes from No. 1-19. Be mindful few are repeats from last year but there are awesome new ones too!! 😝

Hello Leokimvideo, thanks for the mod. I did this with my son who is named Leo. It was so fast it kept flying off the tracks. So I grinded off the ridges of the back tires and put a thin strip of hot glue on each back tire. After that it ran on the tracks pretty well and very fast. Thanks again!
I would of added more weight to the engine
I discovered that with the new Thomas, Annie, and Clarabell pack that is being sold, you can mod Thomas, and then hide the battery inside Annie! You just have to thread the wires through and cut parts of the seats off to make some room. But it does work!
(Technically if you did the mod on the 75th anniversary chrome Thomas and added the Annie and Clarabell coaches to it, it’s basically a modern remake of the fast chrome Thomas from years ago!)
I remember doing something similar to an RC car years ago. That Thomas sure can chug! Maybe a higher level mod will be to solder a potentiometer on the circuit to lower the speed when needed. That was a fun one, just like old leokimvideo ;)

Thanks goodness I can get back on TH-cam again after a massive school change. I was actually wondering able it how to do this mod and well. Now I know how. By the way Leo, where did you get the 9 volt battery connector from. I've been looking for those everywhere. Either I'm completely blind or it's nowhere around me.

Oh man this really is vintage Leo :P What a cool mod! So fast, but curious to see how long the motor lasts. Very nice internal design; certainly cuts costs on Mattel's part (but should also make them more durable). Makes more sense why they've gone with the standardised chassis now...Maybe add some of those bumpers from the bigger sets to the curves to keep Thomas on the track?I imagine the weight of the 9V hinders his ability to jump somewhat, esp as it drags behind. Still, a lot of fun!!!!

Man, this video was amazing. Why is TH-cam stupid? To properly demonetize a video, you need to know what the community think’s is kid friendly, watch the entire video, and properly think about what you see. TH-cam must have gone wrong in at least one of these on most demonetized videos.

I'm also surprised how simple this thing is, since I grew up with the original motorized thomas stuff (back when it was Tomy and had blue tracks). I feel another way to modify it is to replace the motor in it.

This is actually interesting to watch, plus i do love to see thomas that fast like the episode of Thomas and the jet engine.

I know that this video did cause some problems for your channel... BUT, I really think you should make a super fast James. That mod is very fitting and I actually made a super fast James myself! (It wasn’t nearly as elegant as yours since I didn’t have a saudering iron and was mostly held in place by hot glue.)

I'm familiar with nerf mods, so i could probably just thrown some aa lipos or IMRs. But this is a really good video and that mod's probably making it faster than just special batteries.

Go Super Thomas, Go! Another classic Leokimvideo MOD tutorial video. This is what makes this channel great. I wouldn't have thought of using a 9V battery to supercharge Thomas, but what an awesome toy that creates!... the only downside would be the cost of the 9V batteries.
...and so many tool shots! #tingles haha
On another note, I wonder how many toys you've had to fix or tweak to get them to work better (like the switch MOD you performed off-camera)
+S3ISOR There are others who have done this, but they fail to use the switch in the circuit. I have shot another video to explain the switch mod and I go and fix a Diesel10 that had a faulty switch. Sadly the switch in these toys is the weak link in the circuit.
leokimvideo I'm be interested to watch this one. I always like educational videos that involve toys. It helps stop waste, and keeps smiles on kids faces.... just don't forget the minion in the video ;-)

Have you seen this years new "trick" set? It's set up for Thomas to do a jump, but I wonder how this Thomas would do on that set.... If you ever get that set for review, can you test that theory...
+Thomas Blue I steer well clear of the one trick pony 'trick' sets, all we want is sections of Sodor Island in playsets, not roller coaster rides. There was that Thomas 360 degree spin set with the boat section. That's a classic example of a playset thats a no go. I now notice it's been heavily discounted, i'm not surprised.
Yeah that's true, I don't care for the trick ones either, I like a long stretch of track with stations and inner/outer loops or at least that is what I have set up... The last tick one I got was the misty Island but it don't do well with many train cars being pulled.
