When you said about final year, I burst into tears. I'm in my final year at the moment. Had to leave uni at such short notice, didn't get to say goodbye to any of my mates who I don't know when I will see again, if we will have a graduation, if we will have our exams, and how they will be done, no library to complete any work. Just so stressed and broken. Such a bad situation for everyone.

Can 100% relate with the whole work experience issue. Felt so selfish being upset about it when so much else is going on, but I have been all over the place for the past 2 years with personal stuff and trying to find my ground and finally got to a point where I felt like I had my life on track (at least a little). @@laurenbisiker3687 I think they're using the method for us Y11/Y13 to award the grades. So teachers would have to take into account of range of evidence such as NEA, mocks or other set of data ie if a student was re - taking GCSE maths for example, they'd look at what you've done on Hegartymaths and scores you got as a way to calculate the grade you would've gotten on the real exam. Or, if it dosen't work out, candidates can sit the exam in the summer of 2021!
“i’ve stopped eating out because I can’t eat out” the tone of this made me giggle. also hard relate to all of this being a second year. Hope this works out for you, hadnt even considered how awful it is for language students.
Yes Eve it's Vitamin D lol You looked so confused. Also maybe try witch hazel on your face after you wash it but before you put on moisturiser. Hopefully that may help the stress break out :)
I’m a first year maths student at imperial college London and Im sooo mad right now,,,,i hate the way imperial are handling things so much,,,the students and the maths dep have been trying to get fairer terms for our summer examinations but the uni itself has decided to ignore us all and is making us sit timed and weighted exams remotely in may, so that means i have 5 3 hr maths exams to sit in my house which counts towards ≈8% of my overall degree?!??! I don’t understand why they don’t cancel first year exams or make them not count?!! But my heart honestly goes out to finalists like this is a whole other kind of stressful
This whole video is a mood. We all had something special to look forward too 😪 Was supposed to be seeing my long distance boyfriend tomorrow (26/03) but obviously postponed. Nonetheless every cloud has a silver lining, and something good should be coming soon for us all..🖤
mercedesEmz my sister was supposed to visit me where I study before Easter, and then we were supposed to travel home together. Now I don’t even know for sure when I’ll be able to get home, because I’m from Norway and study in England
Hege Kristin Hagen Hege Kristin Hagen I’m so sorry to hear that, must be difficult for you both and also a little bit scary!😪. But hopefully you two can travel in the summer when all this is over ☺️
I'm at the uni of Edinburgh and they've cancelled all pre-honours exams and assessments and turned marks into pass/fail for this semester! I honestly feel like they've been so supportive throughout this whole situation
Lucy Gerrard I’m pretty sure Scotland have a different system where they have like half their degree that doesn’t count too much bc they use those first two years to pick a major
@@MsLivinglegend19 yeye scotland largely does 4 year degrees, where only the 3rd and 4th count towards your final grade, and in the first two years you can take a few different subjects and work out what you wanna stick with :)
If you're enjoying The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, I would 100% recommend Agnes Grey by Anne as well! Another delightful read that's a real comfort for times like these. X
You sound really passionate about Latin America so definitely definitely watch Race Across the World which is currently airing on bbc two! It’s such an amazing show anyway but this series the teams have to travel the length of Latin America so you would absolutely love it, it’s 100% getting me through this scary time.
For reference/comparison if anyone wanted to know- I go to Uni of Leeds and they’ve been basically inundating us with emails since the first case in the UK up until now, final term is cancelled for us and (as I’m a 1st year) every single one of my assessments (essay, exam etc.) has been cancelled. I do Sociology and the Sociology department have been really good at emailing us, they and the accommodation teams have emailed us and asked us to tell them where we are and if we’re safe and I have to admit their communication seems a lot better than what you’ve described you’re getting from Oxford
I needed this video just to let you rant all of my angers towards dealing with uni right now for so many reasons. Thank you and I hope that this is all sorted for us quickly x
hope you're doing okay. please put your mental health first. i know it's hard not to stress and it's super hard to work and focus with everything going on, but remember to breathe and take time to relax :)
That’s such a joke!! My uni have sent emails every single day keeping us updated and most things are sorted now so we know who’s doing exams, who’s not, online classes are decent etc. I feel so bad for you hope you’re ok, please take care of yourself ❤️
I'm shocked to hear about Oxford's lack of communication, it honestly sounds ridiculous. My uni (Portsmouth) has been very supportive, and we've received regular emails from the uni, faculty, students' union and individual lecturers, keeping us informed about every decision that's being made. I'm really grateful for my lecturers in particular, because they've all gone out of their way to make sure that we're all coping. (I'm first year btw) I really hope you get some answers soon Eve 💖 x
Oh my god. I’m so glad to hear that as I am hoping to go to portsmouth in September(well October now cuz of this whole lockdown mess). But yeah even though I’m not even at Portsmouth yet I have also found that their communication has been great.

Hello Eve: We are all here with you and we are all going to get through this space in time, together. First of all, may I recommend: 1. Take a slow, intentional deep breathe in 2. Then, as you slowly let it out, tell yourself: I am healthy and I am with those I love. This is important to me because many, many others are not as fortunate. 3. Another slow, purposeful deep breathe in. 4. Slowly release and: It has only been a week since my university was suddenly and unexpectedly thrown into turmoil, not by anyone’s fault but by something we, as people, cannot control. 5. Another slow deep breathe in 6. And slow release: It is not any member of my universities fault that plans have not been sorted in such a short time 7. Another slow purposeful deep breathe in 8. And slow release: I am fortunate to attend a well oiled machine of a university that has been around in times of crisis many times before. 9. Another slow, purposeful deep breathe in 10. And slow release: They, like me, have a million and one unanswered questions right now, including if and when the virus will no longer pose a threat to me and my fellow students nor to they and their families either. 11. Another slow, deep breathe in 12. And slow release: I am still healthy and with people I love. So far, I am very fortunate. There are thousands more around the world who are not. 13. Deep breathe in 14. Slow release: Since it has only been a week, I need to remind myself that things will get sorted but I must be patient as the greatest priority right now is my health and security 15. Deep breathe in 16. And slow release: I know there are those from my university who are struggling far more as they tend to their elderly family members or their younger children, who are frightened and possibly alone or, worse, in need of medical care they cannot receive right now 17. Deep breathe in 18. And slow release: I and my stability are a priority as well but I am a priority that will get sorted in time. I must be patient. It has only been a week. 19. Slow deep breathe in 20. Slow release: Let me take the time right now to enjoy being with my family and having fully focused time to make lifelong memories 21. This will be sorted. I must be patient. Lives are on the line. I am healthy and I am safe. I am well looked after and my family and friends are so far ok. 22. Reaaaaaaaly slow, deep, purposeful deep, deep breathe in 23. Extremely slow release: Oxford University has survived two world wars, the Great Depression and much, much more, as a united front. This WILL get sorted, on that I can count. My student life in not over, I will get to do my year abroad, life will carry on again. I just need to be patient. It has only been a week. Eve, I PROMISE things WILL get sorted!! There are a million and one uncertainties we are ALL facing in this present environment but we must ALL learn to slow down, not panic, focus on the things we can control, be aware of the actions we can take, spend quality time with our loved ones, if we are so fortunate to be with them, and let time do it’s thing. It will ALL be sorted, in time. We have seen worse, perhaps not in our lifetimes, personally, but this country has gotten through far more tragic events and bounced back, so has your university and your own college was formed in a time of oppression against women. It WILL get sorted, I PROMISE. Take a deep breathe in, slow down and focus on the here and now. Life is still happening all around you and there is beauty and glory and joy in the small things. You are healthy and you are secure with provisions you didn’t have to suffer for to obtain. Life is going to be ok. I PROMISE. PS: Brand characteristic: Basically (I say smiling only)
Am a third year psych student and a part time hospital HCA. We still have to do all the work for the set deadlines with only online content which is hard, especially the dissertation part. I want to do more shifts to be useful, idk what to do. and it’s stressful with 70% of the degree riding on work done in this horrific time we’re in.
I’m still doing work everyday - sticking to my sixth form timetable. I’m in year 12 and my corses are worth 50% this year for my overall grade at the end of year 13. I’m just learning the content myself. Finding that I’m actually getting more work done. However I am quite stressed that if I don’t get the grades that I need off my teachers which is unlikely but if it does happen I’m concerned as to when I’m going to re-sit the exams. With finance for example you can’t start the year 13 diploma until a grade has been submitted for year 12 and it can’t be changed after it’s been submitted. Ahhhh 🤭😱
I'm second year French and Spanish and I'm so stressed about the year abroad. I was supposed to go to Peru for 3 months at the end of May and then France after that but who knows. Our uni are focusing on those who are currently on their year abroad first which makes sense, maybe that's what Oxford's doing too x
My uni has been the total opposite. Updates most days not just from the university but from the department. Extensions on assessments as they understand working from home is hard I’m so struggling for motivation which is bad for a final year student and online lectures are awful. Think it’s going impact my final grade
I'm in final year and I was supposed to have six 75-100% exams in the May-June exam period. Yes, the university needs to get things in place and I understand that but I really have no idea what's going to go ahead and this could really make a difference to all of us in terms of final degree classification (final year here has a 75% weighting). On one hand, I've got the university telling me they can't give us any details until April. On the another hand, I've got lecturers uploading mock exam papers. Who knows at this point?
I was on my year abroad until 5 days ago and my home Uni didn't contact us at all until a week and a half ago because the lecturer in charge of the year abroad was on strike. It was absolutely ridiculous, I was in a city that was considered the epicentre of that country's outbreak and was basically abandoned. I'm still fuming about it, everything is an absolute mess (for everyone really) at the minute!
Isolation is expected to go up to 6 months, so it is best to be prepared for your year abroad being postponed. It seems highly unlikely travel restrictions will be lifted by then. But, if they expect you to finish your degree without your year abroad you should definitely fight back on that. I'm sure many other students will be furious.
not going to lie I'm in 8th grade in The Netherlands! I love watching your videos even if I don't understand the Uk educational system. right now, I'm doing online school and I'm really distracted with this Corona pandemic! sending lots of hugs n love 💛💛💛
How did you choose which parent to live with? I'm currently at my dads and don't know whether to still go and stay at my mums :( I know they say its fine for children under 18 to go between houses but no guidance for adults. I know I should stay at one home really but it's so hard to make that decision
I feel so bad for all of you uni students, can't imagine how confusing this must be. having my nat 5 (think they're like GCSEs in England?) exams cancelled is bad enough but to be uncertain about your entire future just sucks. hope you're doing okay Eve, sending lots of love from Scotland xxxx
My daughter arrived back in Greece a week last Monday but she's still in quarantine and even before this she was incredibly stressed - she's in her final year and like you have said several times it's the not knowing that is so incredibly HORRIBLE - hoping Oxford will get their act together extremely soon.
Please try to stay positive - try to focus on how much you have already gained from your time at Uni and know that things will get back to normal sooner rather than later - take care and stay safe and strong - 😍
Taking your mental health into account Eve, they should let you take a year out given the circumstances. Oxford will want you to perform at your best, so if you emphasise the disadvantages with continuing working from home they will hopefully be sympathetic. It might work for some people (I’m a huge introvert so I wouldn’t mind!) but if it would be a hinderance, you will likely be eligible I think.
Currently a final year uni student studying my law degree. 5 deadlines , an exam and a dissertation to do all with no teaching or access to the library. A lot of other uni’s implementing safety net policies for assessments but mine is refusing to do so. Unsure of if our graduation and ceremony ball are cancelled. Government have definitely neglected us uni students😢
This has been my problem with Newman University (Birmingham), there is a lack of communication which is a shame because I am halfway through a teaching degree... which is super important... what are you waiting for? Just please, tell us what we need to do for our final modules!
Somehow so reassuring to hear that others are struggling in different ways - my assessments have been cancelled and it's completely awful to have no purpose anymore (and nothing in term 3) but still be paying 9k??? Anyway thanks for this video - love it.
I'm supposed to be going on a year abroad with Erasmus in October for 9 months for my third year but still don't know what's going on. Not knowing is really stressing me out too 😂

Hello There, a great and well detailed/decent Q and A Video throughout, keep it up, it's good to hear that you're making the most of the sunshine. Kind regards Peter :)
I completely understand you about uni I am in my first year and I have been so stressed these last few days got a 4,000 word case study due in next week then a couple of weeks after that I have a 2,000 word essay then after that I have a 3,500 word padlet and then after that a portfolio they is just so much due in but not having the teaching on the modules is hard as they still want high quality out of us I understand it can’t be helped but their is no way I can produce high quality of work with all this going on and with my mental health on top xx
Uni of Leeds have cancelled all exams/essays and 2nd years automatic progress to 3rd year. I've not hear anything about if Study Abroads are still happening though😭
I feel you about the year abroad. My uni have been good when it comes to academics but the actual year abroad next year is all up in the air. I have not heard anything about it and considering I'm supposed to be going to China in September, this is a little worrying. We didn't even have any updates when corona virus first broke out in China, so I've been in the dark for about 3 months now 🙃
I'm also a 2nd year languages student and have been dreaming of travelling to Latin America since I was a child and I was meant to be going to university in Argentina for third year. I'm so desperate that I will definitely be taking the year out if they don't let me go cos I have worked way too hard to get here as for this particular university I'm going to requires a 2:1 and I scraped it in 1st year and have managed to go from 44 last year in Spanish to at least mid 60s this year if not higher to just get my year abroad thrown away like that
I am doing my masters and I am finding it so hard to focus. We are meant to be starting our dissertations now and focusing on the last few assignments for modules but everyone is struggling so much. Most of my coursemates are from other countries too, and so they are worried about their families/being unable to get home. It is such a tough time!
Amazes me how you remain so positive through all this because it's massively affecting your degree! :) my boyfriend recommended you to me because he knows you! His name is Ben Gater and he says you were friends with his ex? But anyway I love you and your videos so much! They always brighten up my day so thank you! Much love X ❤❤
I am a third year student nurse and at moment I don’t know what happens if I opt in or opt out into emergency register... atm what I know is if I opt in but don’t know nothing about opt out yet, if the degree will be delayed or not whatever decision will be from opt in or opt out 😭🙈 is not too much information about it :( hopefully the uni will let us know about everything soon 🤞🍀 good luck with everything
I'm a first year at York University but all our exams have been cancelled and we can cancel accommodation for next term to not pay for it, as most of the uni has gone home... but it still sucks and I should of been on holiday this week and it is just shitty xxx
My uni have been lovely but like you say, no one really knows what's happening, even the lecturers all seem to be doing different things and I've heard from some and not others, some stuff cancelled, some going ahead etc
Trying to be productive with coursework deadlines tomorrow and next week for a levels but having absolutely no motivation to do any of it (knowing how important coursework is bc my mock grades are not what I wanted is causing more stress than it really should)
In the Netherlands it was decided on a Thursday afternoon that groups of more than 100 weren't allowed anymore. We got an email from the uni at like 6 saying that Friday classes were cancelled and that they were going to talk about what to do. We get an email pretty much everyday for updates, and they've been trying to switch everything to online so that we can finish this term (ends in 2 weeks). I do think that it's quite strange (and really upsetting) that you haven't heard from Oxford?? That's not how you should be treating students during this term.
My uni have actually been OK with communication. The lecturers switched to online learning and they try to keep us updated. With exams, I have no idea, I think they're changing it to coursework but 🤷♀️. I find it difficult to try to study as well, all of my time is with my son.
I’m in my first year at uni and we’ve had to finish off this term with all of our teaching being online. It’s not easy but it sounds like we’ve had much better communication than some
Im a first year medical student and it is so stressful .... nobody knows what will happen to our exams and we're just sitting home revising without a purpose. nice

Have you thought of doing some work experience with a translation company? Of course with Corona they may not be open but possibly next year at some point?
It seems like a lot of uni students are in a similar boat with uncertainty over exams and next term's teaching etc. All we can do is hope for more clarity sooner rather than later. 🤞

I did find this page eur05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gov.uk%2Fgovernment%2Fpublications%2Fcoronavirus-covid-19-cancellation-of-gcses-as-and-a-levels-in-2020%2Fcoronavirus-covid-19-cancellation-of-gcses-as-and-a-levels-in-2020&data=02%7C01%7C%7C8124beb9e13e4af2650108d7d097f23f%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637207223322871567&sdata=9JKbAOoEgYjgwJ32S3dnNyj5ke46fPf3EBvfwL0SSrA%3D&reserved=0 helped though

I understand. I was meant to be sitting my A level exams but they were cancelled. I literally cried when I heard the news lol!
@@RosemaryTurner2002 me too. Do you know what is going to happen for resitting candidates?
@@laurenbisiker3687
I think they're using the method for us Y11/Y13 to award the grades.
Loved the idea of a half and half Q&A! Watched the whole thing 💕
Yes Eve it's Vitamin D lol You looked so confused. Also maybe try witch hazel on your face after you wash it but before you put on moisturiser. Hopefully that may help the stress break out :)
Yep vetumin D important
I have OCD and anxiety and I’m struggling so much with everything being so uncertain, i know how you feel so just stay strong !!
But my heart honestly goes out to finalists like this is a whole other kind of stressful
thats mad honestly
Eve Bennett just hoping that me, my family/friends and everyone else can come out the other end physically and mentally healthy
I am going to miss mathes because I am in year 11 going into year 12 going to miss mathes and English
This whole video is a mood. We all had something special to look forward too 😪
Was supposed to be seeing my long distance boyfriend tomorrow (26/03) but obviously postponed.

YES BRONTË FOREVER!! I’m so rereading Jane Eyre during all this. I’ve also started an EPQ to keep myself occupied.
eve: I’m here for a good chill video :)
also eve: stressing about oxford for 8 minutes straight
i hope you guys are all doing well! use this time wisely and don't leave the house unless necessary !!
I'm at the uni of Edinburgh and they've cancelled all pre-honours exams and assessments and turned marks into pass/fail for this semester! I honestly feel like they've been so supportive throughout this whole situation
how are they deciding your year grade?
@Nicky L my final degree grade is partially based on second year
Lucy Gerrard I’m pretty sure Scotland have a different system where they have like half their degree that doesn’t count too much bc they use those first two years to pick a major
MsLivinglegend19 oo okay thanks!
Really like every single day
slick jumped over the lazy dog can’t really remember now but yeah I’m pretty sure everyday
I would recommend 'Las chicas del cable' on Netflix if you're looking for something to watch in Spanish :)
Naomi 1234567 wow I just started watching this for Spanish and I’m already addicted 😂
Or money heist!!! It’s Spanish and soo good omg AKA la casa de papel
Audio outside is great! Thanks for the sunshine as we are lacking in my part of the country xx
(I'm first year btw)
I really hope you get some answers soon Eve 💖 x
Oh my god. I’m so glad to hear that as I am hoping to go to portsmouth in September(well October now cuz of this whole lockdown mess). But yeah even though I’m not even at Portsmouth yet I have also found that their communication has been great.

Lovedd this video Eve, love how honest you are! Its so true about uni students, we have been given no support!
Hello Eve:
We are all here with you and we are all going to get through this space in time, together.
First of all, may I recommend:
1. Take a slow, intentional deep breathe in
5. Another slow deep breathe in
6. And slow release: It is not any member of my universities fault that plans have not been sorted in such a short time
7. Another slow purposeful deep breathe in
8. And slow release: I am fortunate to attend a well oiled machine of a university that has been around in times of crisis many times before.
9. Another slow, purposeful deep breathe in
10. And slow release: They, like me, have a million and one unanswered questions right now, including if and when the virus will no longer pose a threat to me and my fellow students nor to they and their families either.
11. Another slow, deep breathe in
12. And slow release: I am still healthy and with people I love. So far, I am very fortunate. There are thousands more around the world who are not.
13. Deep breathe in
14. Slow release: Since it has only been a week, I need to remind myself that things will get sorted but I must be patient as the greatest priority right now is my health and security
15. Deep breathe in
16. And slow release: I know there are those from my university who are struggling far more as they tend to their elderly family members or their younger children, who are frightened and possibly alone or, worse, in need of medical care they cannot receive right now
17. Deep breathe in
18. And slow release: I and my stability are a priority as well but I am a priority that will get sorted in time. I must be patient. It has only been a week.
19. Slow deep breathe in
20. Slow release: Let me take the time right now to enjoy being with my family and having fully focused time to make lifelong memories
21. This will be sorted. I must be patient. Lives are on the line. I am healthy and I am safe. I am well looked after and my family and friends are so far ok.
22. Reaaaaaaaly slow, deep, purposeful deep, deep breathe in
Love these type of videos! 💕
same my favezzzz
Why don't you split your time between both places. You can check out my vid on UNCERTAINTY: th-cam.com/video/lrsj94ljNHg/w-d-xo.html
Omg hearing you say that you've done like an hour during these times makes me feel a bit better. At least my test is open book since it's online now
I feel so bad for all of you uni students, can't imagine how confusing this must be. having my nat 5 (think they're like GCSEs in England?) exams cancelled is bad enough but to be uncertain about your entire future just sucks. hope you're doing okay Eve, sending lots of love from Scotland xxxx
just what I needed💛💛
My daughter arrived back in Greece a week last Monday but she's still in quarantine and even before this she was incredibly stressed - she's in her final year and like you have said several times it's the not knowing that is so incredibly HORRIBLE - hoping Oxford will get their act together extremely soon.
Please try to stay positive - try to focus on how much you have already gained from your time at Uni and know that things will get back to normal sooner rather than later - take care and stay safe and strong - 😍
Eves brand- A Line skirts x
Taking your mental health into account Eve, they should let you take a year out given the circumstances. Oxford will want you to perform at your best, so if you emphasise the disadvantages with continuing working from home they will hopefully be sympathetic. It might work for some people (I’m a huge introvert so I wouldn’t mind!) but if it would be a hinderance, you will likely be eligible I think.
I hope so :( although there’s so many ppl who have similar problems I hope they see sense
Eve Bennett Also I’m wondering where your keyboard/piano books are from? I’d like to get into playing keyboard again 😌
Dows anyone else think that eve’s accent is more emphasized in this video

Not knowing is really stressing me out too 😂
Im sure Camilla they will at worse rearrange this but I think by October in all honesty things should hve settled down by then. It's a time of uncertainty and you can go check out my vid on this: th-cam.com/video/lrsj94ljNHg/w-d-xo.html

Hello There, a great and well detailed/decent Q and A Video throughout, keep it up, it's good to hear that you're making the most of the sunshine. Kind regards Peter :)
Just the distraction I was looking for 😁
Have you watched Druck? Its a german series online, it is really good! 😊
We didn't even have any updates when corona virus first broke out in China, so I've been in the dark for about 3 months now 🙃
My skl shut last week on Tuesday and I’m really bored

I've just started learning Russian! Thought I may as well given that I'm apparently not doing A levels anymore, but I'm really enjoying it!
I've applied for an internship at Oxford, imagine if I get in and then they cancel it! I'll lose it
I’m in my first year at uni and we’ve had to finish off this term with all of our teaching being online. It’s not easy but it sounds like we’ve had much better communication than some
Im a first year medical student and it is so stressful .... nobody knows what will happen to our exams and we're just sitting home revising without a purpose. nice

It seems like a lot of uni students are in a similar boat with uncertainty over exams and next term's teaching etc. All we can do is hope for more clarity sooner rather than later. 🤞
Our uni are making us take the exams online which are essay based with a maths part which I think personally is going to be awful doing it online
