Women in Orthodox Christianity, which sadly Tamara knows very little about (I.e., thinks that Christmas is all about food) are expected to dress modestly and respectfully. There's a time and place for everything.
P.S. Look up icons in Orthodox Christianity - Virgin Mary, St. Petka, St. Nina, etc.; you will quickly realize where the head covering and modest dress code come from.

I love that he will sit there and really be honest with you because he knows you can handle it and he really cares.
