I was thrilled to see James on this last year but I could tell he was a little low energy, as almost everyone was that year. This year he's absolutely in his element and it's such a joy!!
Apparently the last one wasn't filmed in front of a live audience, a laugh track was added in post. Must have been difficult for them not knowing whether the jokes were landing or not. They did well under the circumstances.
@@MobioDEN The way I see it, it should be the other way around: Richard does silly very well and he does serious very well, but he does not mix the two well, whereas James has the ability to make serious things seem silly and silly things seem serious, so with Richard we would get someone more like the twelfth Doctor and James would be more like the ninth - the only thing is he would have to something about his diction.
When Sara Pascoe called the The Children of Mitchell Brook Primary School "very very good" I could only think of the late Sean Lock "I thought they were shit, really bad. If I was their drama teacher I would be absolutely ashamed, I'd throw myself in the canal. It was some of the worst acting I've ever seen". Damn do I miss that man. Hopefully we can get some more Frankie Boyle on panel shows to fill some of the void he left with his brutally honest comedy. Also, I would definitely have given Sara and James points for their James Bond answer and on the Candyman question either giving them points for just getting "saying his name in the mirror", not having the amount of times as a criteria for getting it right, or not giving Guz and Sarah points because they put down both answers which is kinda cheating. So it would've either been a split win or Sarah and James would've won if I was the quizmaster.

Fucksake, mate, get a hold of yourself.
@@AlanHope2013 No, expressing happiness and appreciation shouldn't be stopped just because socially stunted internet people have learned that this is something to be repressed.
In other words: we're being happy over here Alan, if you don't like that Alan, then you can fuck right off.
tommy petrol is clearly a budget British copy of one of America's greatest exports, Vin Diesel
Yes, Vin Diesel doesn't need a spark to ignite, and has a better fuel economy.
I live in East Texas in the US. I'm so addicted to this show. I've watched all of your list at least 3 times each. Even if I don't know half of the answers, it's still awesome!
Ive never watched a current one when it was current... im so excited for this lol
Me either lol
This is what I wait for every year! And with James Acaster! What an absolute joy.
I need Noel Fielding and Richard Ayoade to be regulars
james is literally wiping away tears after seeing the texan lawyer's zoom call. i've never seen him laugh so hard he cried before
If you enjoy watching Jimmy genuinely laugh, check out 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The comedians on that show bring him to tears of laughter a lot. Yet another great British show.
@@brookecorbin6073 love that show to bits, but i'm talking about james acaster crying, not jimmy
@@JG-kk1mr funny how the comment you are replying to has been removed but the comment counter still says it's there... kinda like they are protecting us but still padding their stats.
I know the clip the comment was about though, I've seen it on about 12 different clips right here, I'm not sure why the comment was removed... maybe the all mighty algorithm doesn't like seeing the word spit written but the entire clip is just fine.
I’d been waiting for this! Thank you so much Rikki, I hope your holidays were excellent!
Patiently rewatched all the episodes waiting for this hahaha
I live in America and impatiently wait for someone to upload this every year!
Yes!! What they said. You give the BEST gifts 💝
Is there another BFQ coming in January or is there only the BFQ of the year this year
@@TheTom1996 is that a joke ?
This was a perfect lineup this year IMO.
I love the classic faces like James Acaster, Sarah Millican, and Sara Pascoe..
But also I thought the newer guests were great too, Judi Love, Guz Khan, and Tommy Petrol.
Amazing lineup, I agree
You never disappoint with your timely uploads of the Big Fat Quiz! Thank you!
When I was a kid I was always excited for Santa and presents at Christmas more than anything. Now as an adult, this show is what I get most excited for at the holidays (gingerbread is a close second.)
Saw the Mitchell Brook Primary School students and felt a deep sense of Melancholy at the loss of Sean Lock once again. RIP Sean. 😢
Also all the thanks in the world to Rikki Six. I've been waiting literally all year for this. It's quite honestly been the highlight of the last 12 months
As an Australian fan of The Big Fat Quiz, I was kicking myself seeing Matt Doran as a genuine question this year 😂
It was beautiful wasn't it, and that apology, in still cringing.
That Mohammad Nofuél joke had me in stitches😂
Yes! I was in tears! 😂
I wasn’t sure if i was gonna like this years quiz,, And then Guz Khan showed up and i knew this was gonna be just perfect
50% Taskmaster. My "Possible Enjoyment Scale Test" (PEST) for just about anything is now (Panel show guests /Taskmaster participants). A 50% result...sweet.
So happy that Big Narstie didn't get a seat. I can barely understand a word he says and when I do they mostly weren't worth the effort.
I can never watch the primary school kids without hearing Sean Lock thrashing them. So missed!
The joy of James enjoying Tommy Petrol is the type of joy I want in my life
Of course they won, they had a three-man team: Jonathan, Judi and Tommy Petrol.
If I ever get to visit Britain, I so want to attend a taping of one of these. They've been my favorite thing for the past several years. I'm American and got into British panel shows in college, maybe about 6 years ago? Been obsessed ever since; I've never genuinely laughed at comedy as much as I do at British comedy and these uploads keep me going. Thank you for posting!
I feel the same way! Which ones do you watch? I wish we had more shows like this with the same vibe. I feel like American shows like this would miss the mark but I really wish we were good at this too.
8 out of 10 Cats, 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown, Celebrity Juice, Would I Lie to You...just to name my favorite 4 that are widely available here on YT with full series
@@johnnycbad they did great, I really enjoyed Stacey Solomon's presence! But yeah it's nice to feel the electricity in the air this time :)
I never knew I wanted James to be the Doctor, but now I don't want anyone else.
Same!
I'd actually start watching if he was the Doctor.
Huge fan of james, but honestly he strikes me as more of a sidekick. I would make him a companion and Richard Ayoade the Doctor.
I NEED him as the doctor, even for a special they can make it work
What a great panel this year! I was not familiar with Judi or Guz, and they were awesome. I love Sara and Sarah!!
Check out last season of Taskmaster :)
@@davidjohansen4339 i came say the same. Being in Australia I haven't been able to access many episodes but he's so chaotic lol
mate you should watch the taskmaster season with guz for the vibes
@@KlaximumSkroeft yess
Agreed. It's incredible and so hilarious
I am an American watching this program for the first time. Great fun! Thanks so much for posting it.
I am so thankful that you share these annually. It’s my favorite part of the holiday season.
watching this while recovering from covid. Phil McCann sent me into a laughing/coughing fit I almost couldn't recover from
Get well soon
This was my first time watching and as an American I was rolling on the floor. Watched for Sarah, loved all the guests and the host. Can’t wait til next year!
You should go back and check out 2006. Enjoy! :)
Oh my friend, as a Minnesotan, be prepared to fall down the rabbit hole. They are all great! I recommend 2017 or 2006
Ayyyy RikkiSix knocking it out the park once again for all the foreign region-blocked fans, thanks and love to you!!
I love that James did an encore of his ice cream sugar high from the previous year
And in a themed tshirt!
I'm a BIG BOY
Rikki, as you do every holiday season, you have blessed my feed, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Hope your celebrations were excellent 💖
Every year you provide me with happiness Rikki. I can always trust you to upload these and you’re quick with it too. Thank you again
"I'm here live... I'm not a cat." He sounded so distressed like he was trying to reassure himself he wasn't a cat.
I needed this. My favorite every year. I even take time off from licking the windows to watch this.
Hilarious as ever but Jimmy’s hair dye is the best joke in the whole quiz 😂😂
I live in Texas. This show was recommended to me by TH-cam about 6 years ago. Since then I've discovered QI, 8 out of 10 cats, Countdown, Peep Show and so much more. Thanks TH-cam
Ever watched Celebrity Juice, hosted by Keith Lemon?
@RedBeard1620 is that the one with Holly Holly Willoughby? If it is then heck yes. I love that show
@@joycebivins2256 As Keith Lemon calls her, Holly Willoughbooby lol and Ferne Cotton aka Nostrils
It's that time of year again when I think to myself "Next year I'll read the news more to answer all the questions"
We need a fourth panel and it always should be Noel and Richard 🥺
I used to think that Richard was one of the worst, most annoying panelists on panel shows........ But I realized he's really not that bad after I saw Judi.
iT'S bIG fAt QuiZ tIME!!! The only thing I've been looking forward to this entire second bin fire of a year... although I love everyone on the panel, it's very strange not to have either Noel or Richard in it... Thank you for the upload, Rikki Sixx!
Or Russel. I was thinking the same
Bob Mortimer, too. Still feeling shock and sadness about only yesterday finding out Sean Lock died, and have no idea how I managed to miss the news as I am an info addict who attends to it constantly every day.
I'm pleased with this group...no Winkleman or Mel Gelgrinch being annoying..
Jackie Weaver's got some comedic chops!
I thought she kept up quite well with the others' wit. Outpaced some of them
Loved how instead of a banana, pizza or cheese plate James brought two pints of ice cream.
I’m usually sad if Richard isn’t on, but this turned out to be one of the best panels in a long while, to my mind. All three teams seemed well-matched. Jimmy good as ever. But please come back, Jon Snow!
I love Jon Snow!
"This show is a marathon"
this might be the most competitive episode of the big fat quiz i've ever seen - i've never seen all six contenstants actually try their hardest before bahahahha
This was a great lineup, they had nice chemistry i enjoyed that a lot lol! I hope they regularly come back!
Are you serious? Apart from Acaster and maybe Jonathan Ross it's a piss poor lineup. Who even are the others?
@@Joeonline26 why are you so pressed
@@theindoorkites Why are you so pressed that it's the truth? It's just a shit panel and Carr's jokes get worse every year.
@@Joeonline26 Someone on youtube said they enjoyed a bunch of comedians in a panel show in the comments section and you come under their comment and invalidate their enjoyment, be egoistic about your opinion being the truth, push your unwanted subjective opinions on them.. please think about what you're doing right now.. go touch some grass..why so triggered over a panel show..
@@theindoorkites LOOOL "invalidate their enjoyment"- what on earth are you talking about? You had one opinion, I had another. 2 people having different opinions doesn't "invalidate someone's enjoyment" you oversensitive fool. I'm not "pushing my unwanted subjective opinions" on anyone. This is the internet, I am fully within my rights to make a comment, but that doesn't mean I'm "pushing my opinion" on anyone. Do you really think that I consider you important enough to specifically "push an opinion" on you? LOL get over yourself. Oh and the phrase "subjective opinion" is redundant since all opinions are subjective in nature. It's also ironic that you saying my opinion is "unwanted" is a *purely opinionated* statement and nothing more LOL, well done on contradicting yourself.
I hope your as diligent in putting up this years quiz as you were for last years. Thank you again for posting these for all of the non UK viewers. I wait all year for this show.
The way he said "you could make the joke, you're on the same show" @54:00 made me absolutely lose it
This was great as always, but I must say that I missed Jon Snow's legendary dance moves
Thank you for posting this! It was great to see James Acaster having a good time.
It's amazing that the guesses for the "Phill McCann" question were no more ridiculous than the actual name XD Especially Mohammed Nofuel!
Mohommad Nofuel had me in stitches! 😄
*Nofuél
This one was a real corker. It's also nice to watch a summary and confirm that this whole year has actually been weird as hell, and it didn't just feel that way.
"Don't you ever leave me, dear cousin, or I'll do the same"
All of a sudden an unexpected My Cousin Rachel vibe and I love it!
Reminded me of when she was doing team tasks with Rob Beckett on taskmaster and they called them brother and sister
In my admittedly low number of BFQs watched, this is one of the if not the best. Jimmy actually makes good jokes and all the contestants make good jokes and balance it by actually being invested in the quiz. If any other better edition exists, do reply.
My favourites are BFQOTY 2006, 2008, 2013; BFAQ 2015; and BFQOE 2016 :)
My favorite is 2015. I love the chaos. It.may not be the best balanced, but it makes me laugh the most.
If you think this is one of the best then watch literally any BFQ maybe except the one with Mel B in 2014 because she was no fun
Absolutely brilliant lineup this time! Sara and Sarah! James Acaster and Guz Khan! I really needed all these laughs. Such a good time!
Watching this in the states, and I didn’t know about Jackie Weaver until now. Such a brief moment and she handled it with such grace. She is a treasure and I hope she’s appreciated for quite some time
But still she doesn't have any authority, Jackie Weaver!
for everyone else reading this comment, that zoom call was not just a brief moment. There are recordings of it on youtube and it is funnier than what was shown on this show. go watch it if you haven't!
also i love how everyone on the show refers to her as "jackie weaver" and rarely jackie, just like the participants of the meeting
I feel like something is missing................... Oh no, Jon Snow retired and he's not gonna dance anymore.
:( he could have done one last one, I missed seeing I this year
Fuck I didn’t know he retired

Guz Khan, Sarah Millican and James Acaster really made this one so funny
I can't believe they missed calling Guz Khan "Gas Can" during the petrol bit.
Dolly Parton wrote "Jolene" & "I Will Always Love You" in the same night! ♥️
This was a wild ride. I loved the slightly unhinged energy of it. Judi was just great and the teams overall were a wonderful match.
