@@radiosonic0007 I’m loving it. Used it mostly on 20m. However, my 20m dipole was downed by wind. I have an efhw (40-20-15-10) that I plan to put up soon that will give me greater access to the world 😀
Hi Phil' Glad you liked the video. The Xiegu is a lovely radio I'm for home and portable as for the fan stand I bought it from sinotel in the uk Best 73 Roger
I’ve heard that the connectors are board mounted surface mount soldered. Be careful not to break them loose from the board. That’s about the only negative comment I have heard.
Great video, thanks. Im just looking at getting into CB and Sideband Radio. I really like this model. I havnt as yet found out if it is ok to use in the Uk,or is any license required? Hoping to get one soon, looks really good with the heads-up display, for a newbie like me. Subscribed. Many thanks :)
Yes it will do 11m but you have to a mod to the radio there's a arrow on the board that shows you which part to take out. There are videos on TH-cam showing how it's done. Best 73
Hello Christopher, I use a Half size G5RV and a long wire. I will be reviewing a new antenna in my next video Multi-band end-fed antenna with mounting bracket 80/40/20/15/10m shortened from UK antennas. Not a great time here as bands haven't been that good. For portable, I use a sotabeam band hopper 3 dipole antenna it's linked, and I have had great results out portable 73
Christopher, with any lower power radio, you want your antenna to be as efficient as possible. I have talked to South America on a Buddistick on a tripod in my yard. However, my best contacts have been on my Par EndFedz. You easily get the entire band. You can get the SWR close to 1:1 and R to 50. For field portable, RG-58 works fine and takes up less space and weight. Some people even use RG-174 for short runs at low frequencies; especially SOTA types. Others may have great luck with many field antennas, but EFs work great for me. Plus, tune once and forget about it forever.
Just ordered mine on the 8th of June. Hope to get up and going soon. Mark K3DEX
Hi Mark, how's the radio going ?

It really looks like a nice rig. Hope to see you outdoors on the air. Where did you purchase the rig from?
Hi David, I bought the xiegu g90 from sinotel in the UK. Great little radio and looking forward to going portable. The ATU is excellent. 73 Roger
Why not used international phonetic? Mexico vs Mike.
