Shunyamurti's reply: No, there is only one awareness. But at the ego level, the awareness is mistakenly identified with the mental-emotional apparatus of the body. Once all identifications are relinquished, freedom is our state.
@@satyogainstitute Thank you, but what does the awareness report to? Something is aware of the awareness. The awareness looking at itself, aware of itself, but something is missing
The past couple of days there was a song that kept coming up in my thoughts, This is the end, from The Doors. So I listened to it. The first verse of the song felt like a hint to say goodbye to the ego. 'This is the end, beautiful friend. This is the end, my only friend, the end. Of our elaborate plans, the end. Of everything that stands, the end. No safety or surprise, the end. I'll never look into your eyes, again. Can you picture what will be, so limitless and free.' Thank you for shining some light on the pathless path to see how we are doing.
Thank you, Shunyamurti! It seems to me the true love is always direct to life, and after that stage we can love every being. The life in your enemy, predator, snake or scorpion is the same substance, that vivify myself that's why to do harm to my enemy or any living being means to do the same to myself.
My response would be that the ego keeps the hubris entertained through visual stimuli designed to keep people from awakening from the dream... Much like anticipating the arrival of the deus ex machina savior who never comes, the ego is easily fooled, usually through ostentatious flaunting of scripture lol
Shunyamurti's reply: The grace of God is required, and there must be an act of surrender or at least a feeling of devotion to God to be able to attune to the grace that brings awakening.
The mind must serve the heart..a heart fully open and purified reaches a state of being. No shadow, no fractures, only connection to the Divine (pure Love)
Somehow I always feel like the people that go to the retreat are playing pretend. I much enjoy shunyamurti's lectures and his books, I thought his wordplay was brilliant, but the "spiritual" communities always put me off. The new word for this I believe is toxic positivity.
No, 'toxic positivity' is about preventing others from expressing their negative emotions. Google search the term and see. Even though I've never been there, their website states that people are encouraged to discuss issues that arise within themselves, either with full-time members, or with Shunyamurti. Surely that's more like 'therapeutic positivity'.
At the moment the world is full of toxic positivity. The ashram is a place to let go of this toxicity. It is a place of learning, so offcourse there are different levels of ego and yeah ego pretends, but it's not about that. These people have a intention to be there to let go of their toxicity, their ego. It is a school of wisdom, so yeah some people are still in ego. But why do you worry about that? You do you and realize we are all one snd surrender. Every one is ONE.
The awareness is observed by another awareness ?? Then some other awareness would need to be aware of that awareness? And on and on forever....?

Shunyamurti's reply: Abide as the total awareness, free of thought, until the ego mind has vanished, then see if you still have such a question.
you are it
there is pure joy, hearing this🙏💘
9:51: ''Keep moving into higher levels of love until everything that is non-love has fallen away.''

Energy- effort! Effort is its own reward. Karma- Dharma. Laws of physics. Life gives you what correspond.
Keep up the good work Shunyamurti!
Why so many people cant seem to wake up even though they’re in deep despair for most of their lifes?
Have you experienced ego death or was your question in the general sense?

Let us know when the top is coming.
There are seven levels of love, for the mind only though...
In truth it’s all love right? :)

@@hamishcollide There is no connection to the Divine. You are that Divine.

Doesn't Commonwealth refer to noble ideals, shared himanity or whatever, held in common?
