    I love gold sovereigns. They are beautiful coins that really reflect the grandeur of the Golden Age of the British Empire. I sort of wish I had picked up a 1950s or 1960s Elizabeth II example for cheap when I had the chance!

    Nice variety of Sovereigns. The sheer variety of all their different facets makes them a pleasure to study and examine. Great video.

    Mr. Numi - I recently discovered your channel and love each of your videos but especially the ones involving sovereigns. I’m a silver stacker at the moment and I don’t own a sovereign yet but likely will in the future due to the “curse” you have laid on me. 😉

    I've taken an interest in Queen Elizabeth early bust sovereigns, they're ageing very nicely in my opinion.

    Hi Numi. I live in the US and have been collecting various Sovereigns primarily because I like them for their size and history and appearance. So far I’ve not tried to sell any of them. My question is, are Sovereigns as easy to sell in the US through dealers or at coin shows or wherever as say Eagles ? Or, even though the premium to buy Sovereigns are less than when buying Eagles, will dealers typically try to buy below spot on Sovereigns? Also, in Great Britain do dealers typically try to buy American Gold Eagles below spot or do they sell back at the same percentage spread to gold content as the Sovereign? Thanks

    Any idea on mintage of them I dont see in march

  • @ecklar123

    Unfortunately I did not get one reply on the potential selling of Sovereigns but I really like them anyway so I enjoy collecting. The next question I had was that I can and have been buying bullion Sovereigns with practically no problems from the major US coin/bullion dealers. It’s easy. Here is the current gold spot price and here is the current price say for the 2017 BU Sovereigns. OK ... easy enough. But what about when we want to delve more into the historical Sovereigns like the 1930? Where can we find the best deals with the lowest potential of getting a bad deal ?

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The more historical items come from forums Facebook groups and auctions plus eBay. It’s a waiting game and eventually everything turns up

    Your view of the s Africa 1953?

  • @robertw9677
    @robertw9677 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Numis maybe a silly question why do you feel soverign size are the most collectible, I like big coins mostly I buy 5oz silver I bought my first 5 sov recently and love the size but I am guessing as I look at sov book it’s the tremendous variety, and secondly Your view of 1953 South Africa proofs I bought a sov and a half sov my thanks for all your videos you transformed me into a sov lover I love the history as you mention thanks for the help

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Robert Walterman the Sovereign is the most collectible size because most of those who enjoy Sovereigns collect that size. This is likely to change over time. People have the odd 2 Sov or 5 Sov but the 1 Sov is the staple.

    Hi Numistacker Can you tell me please, why are sovereigns, which are not 99.9 gold, worth collecting/stacking? Shouldn't we be maximising the sale opportunity through buying coins/metals that (potentially) could be melted down by a jeweller? Or am I playing in a different game to you i.e. do you buy these only for numismatic value/potential? Surely they can't all be rare enough to increase in value over time? My question applies to gold Eagles too. Thanks.

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jack Brown Sovereigns cover many areas bullion proof rare common etc and as bullion are one of the lowest margin bullion coins along with eagles and Kruger. I have never bought gold for melting I buy as a stacker and collector for medium term appreciation
