I didn’t know about it my first year stacking and definitely kept some powder dry for this year. Though I’m curious if the deals are going to be as good as in previous years given the current supply issues.

@@thegringostacker There's always someone that wants to sell and move on or needs money but yes at times there could be less deals around than there has been
The only thing i think i would have done differently would have been to have bought more when gold was under £1000. I think back then i had more commitments so it may not have even been possible.
I thought about this too. My first gold was in the £900s but what I invested in through the past few years has done far better than gold in the equivalent period so I'm not too upset and I would really be worse off had I just bought gold
My LCS has been telling me that he has been selling large quantities of 1/10 ounce gold coins. He said that many clients are buying hundreds at a time. That is a LOT OF MONEY, and huge premiums! The only reason somebody is buying small gold in quantity is for BAD TIMES.... I am bothered by the implications
That's interesting. I know an LCS smaller dealer in the UK who deals with lots of sovs which are the preferred coin overall from his experience but apparently not had any big buyers after smaller coins than that
I been looking at the history of gold prices since 1970. It was never above £250 per oz until about 21, 22 years ago. What caused the price to start climbing and climbing? It has increased 7 fold over that time.
Can't give an exact number at the moment but here's a video from a little while ago with over 65 Oz of gold sovs. Add to that the 1 oz and a few random bits and pieces m.th-cam.com/video/QsWAGw2oOZs/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgzmZsVmqLOjuoteGat4AaABAg
HELLO from greece!! i buy for my stack only gold sovereigns because here are the most liquied gold coins with low premiums .... other gold coins like britannia have much more premiums and when you go sell them you take under spot so you lose many money !!
I was surprised to find out that sovereigns were so popular in Greece. Good to know. Some of my shields came from a gold dealer in Greece too. I also visited Thessaloniki a couple of times. Beautiful country.
Hi, where is best to get bullion (used) please? Not too worried about the condition it’s in just the liquidity. TIA would prefer a shop but online and reliable would be ok. Great topic
Probably best online unless you're based near London or Birmingham. Try Atkinson's, Hatton Garden Metals or Bullion By Post perhaps. There's no one best dealer it depends what you're shopping for, stock levels and their offers at the time but each of those I've used multiple times and are trustworthy
@@SovereignSaurus thanks v much for the recommendation once again. Looking forward to having a look. Gold Bullion coins I think as watched BYB channel and recommended possibly starting out with that.
Nice way to start my day looking at all the lovely gold pieces . I think the only change that i would make , is to have bought more metal earlier when the prices were much lower . Thanks for the eye candy Sir.
You state that, in hindsight, what you would have done differently is not set a budget but buy more. Who could have predicted? Anyone. Guys, gold is cheap today compared to 20 years on. Buy now. Don't set a budget. Don't wait for bonuses. Sell everything else. Borrow as much as you can. Don't miss out on what God has put in the earth for those who want to grab it immediately. Duh.
I would buy unallocated gold to start with. Than when you have enough, switch it to gold. This way, less premiums. It also makes your gold way more liquid.
@@SovereignSaurus I love the quarter ounce Tudor Beasts. I already have a couple of them. They are pretty low premium over here across the pond compared to the AGE's (I paid $460 and $463 for mine whereas the quarter ounce gold eagles are $540 and above)
If I were to do it all over again. I would pay off all my debts and shred my credit cards. Then save a little per pay period, the goal would be for an ounce of gold or more by year’s end.
Loved this video. Your channel has been very helpful in my early stacking journey! Im now on my early youtube journey! I want to throw a little challenge to some of my influencers to make this video for your subs (ill settle for a reply 😅): What do you wish you knew before starting this TH-cam channel?
It depends what you want to use TH-cam for? For me it was a good way to look at what I'd bought close up and learn about the coins, I didn't intend on having public videos. If you want a big channel with lots of views I wouldn't bother making a niche channel on stacking though pick a broader topic.
Dirty hands 🤣 Otherwise I wouldn't. Also a bit of an experiment if it helps the coin stand out more clearly. I wouldn't handle proof coins but bullion is bullion
Well, you're not messing around in your gamble on the first in series for the Tudor Beasts, delivering a nice return. It's a pretty safe bet (nothing is guaranteed, this is not financial advice), that the coin will see some appreciation in premium over spot. But were you actually buying one every month then?
I've got a couple of tubes of 2022 sovs yeah, they were often priced better than 'best value' sovs at times this year. I still buy other years though too. I really like the TBs and would be happy to hold them but should the premiums rise on the 2nd hand market I'll be happy to take profits and buy back cheaper bullion.
Britannias seem to be the best option for stacking based on the current rules, for eg they are CGT exempt. Buying new silver from dealers at the typical premiums plus 20% Vat puts you at a fairly deep loss from day one though... Silver has to really move before you can even break even unfortunately. I'll explain further on a future video 👍🏼
I would do more research before buying and selling. Know the spot price and what the coins are worth. Also put more cash aside for those things that come up.
If you were to start stacking gold even if it wasn't $2000 an ounce, the one thing I would NOT do is buy numismatic/high premium bullion like those Queens Beats coins. Get 1 ounce or half ounce Gold American Eagles, or Gold Maple Leaf's.
If you can buy the higher premium bullion stuff on release like the beasts when the premium is similar to a Brit you could do quite well. For a stacker though it doesn't make sense to buy once the premiums have risen 👍🏼
Ran over a hitchhiker and stole her clothes, I was driving through town and saw her stood on the corner and thought, Oh man... That would make the perfect backdrop.
A few people mention this... When my hands are a bit scratched up or filthy from tinkering it's easier to put the gloves on. I'm obviously not bothered about touching bullion coins especially ones in capsules 👌🏽
Man i absolutely love the British Britannia 1oz silver and gold bullion coins. I got a few monster box's of them. I traded some silver bars for em and as for the gold ones I got roughly 40 of the 1oz gold Britannias with the golden and silver eagles. But man I buy a Lil bit of everything I love my Morgan's lol I inherited 973 silver Morgan's lol my grandfather had alot to do with the Carson city mint and he buried over 900 of them in jars and wooden boxes here on our dairy farm. And with all the silver n gold I inherited I'm Lil over 60,000 ozs of silver yeah it's alot. My grandfather and great great grandfather all put alot of their wealth into gold n silver plus back in the 1800s 10 bucks 20 bucks ect was in gold and silver coins. So yeah they was millionaires so thats how I ended up with most of it. I'm considering doing some trading for diff bars n coins and rounds ect. And clean the hoards up some
@@SovereignSaurus I know brother. It looks like your stack is a work of 11 years. I try to stack too. Silver and gold. Thinking about boosting my gold coins. 1 oz or 1/4 like you. Thanks
