God, this makes me tear up. Every little sound, song and even ui element gives me a pang of nostalgia. Hopefully I am not the only one. I remembering playing the shit out of this game as a young boy.
They got rid of it mainly because the game was laggy as hell for many players. It really is a shame, though - I do miss the open world aspect of The Sims as well. It was nice until it lasted
@@snowembrace but with today’s technique it wouldn’t be a problem (other games have way more complex content) but unfortunately, ES doesn’t really seem to be bothered 🫠
@@wiebkke It was a problem most likely back when they released the game in 2014 - I'd imagine that working on a new expansion that gives us the open world aspect back would mean doing an almost complete makeover of the game, which I don't really think EA would be inclined to do, sadly

this amount of lots and families is just unfathomable…. in sims 4 we pay 40$ for a world with 5 lots. i’m mind blown thinking every single one of those houses is actually playable…….
@jaybee4288 only generation and seasons didn't have a world. In the sims 4 the latest world Tomorang has only 9 lots, in some game pack worlds there are only 3/5 lots.
I barely remember playing this one. but this looks like the PC version, the console version was lacking A LOT of stuff. And it was even worse for Sims 4 on console. There were certain things that could only happen in the PC version that never happened in the console one. Like getting burglarized. I don't think that's ever happened to me in any sims game.
going back to sims 3 after getting tired of sims 4 BS (lovestruck) - sims 4 is plainly just giving players tons of boxes to tick and leaving everything else to our imagination. i miss sims 2 and 3 game mechanics!

I bought The Sims 3 on Steam, but due to some random issue, no matter if it is on Steam, EA, or any other place, the game can't be played on Windows 11, which sucks.

I played this at my uncle's house when i was 8, this game is so amazing why did they get rid of open world map... that was such a big detail.

Had to go back to some memories. Sims4 is literally the only game I don't got ages of gameplay as I do with the other three ones.
