Very sound advice here, my dad told me a similar quote when I was learning to drive long ago. "Always assume everyone around you is about to do the dumbest thing they could possibly do and drive accordingly, be prepared to react and always be aware."
Awareness, I swear that's the most important thing. Simple awareness has allowed me to avoid so many crashes from others' mistakes.

The fine must have been in Forest Park where there is no grass median. My buddy got a $250 ticket there. But there is a sign in the NB and SB lane noting you must stop in both directions!
