I love her so much and if you read her book, "John", when their marriage was happy it was the sweetest thing ever and it just breaks my heart what happened with Yoko. It was horrible, the way she was treated. But she is still an amazing woman and she's so devoted to her son, in a way John never was even when he was alive.
I'm so glad that you feel compelled to be so involved in the lives of three complete strangers you really know nothing about. I'm quite sure that Pete Best doesn't mind trading on the association that made her of public interest to begin with. I'm also fairly sure that John and Yoko regretted ever meeting each other and having a son together, too
@sexobscura And likewise, I'm "glad" you felt compelled to make a condescending remark on a random TH-cam comment from 10 years ago. I hope you find something more fulfilling to occupy your mind!
Cynthia never fails to amaze me. She has so much dignity and is so soft spoken and wonderful. She appears to be one of the most non-judgmental and classy people I have ever seen.
Sad that that Evil person had to keep John on drugs for Control. What kind of person keeps John family & his son from John so called death celebration she had to have spot light on her. If Cynthia would of come with Julian the Evil person said Julian could not come to NY.
Cynthia said that thier problems begin when John started doing drugs.Because Cynthia wouldnt do them with him they couldnt communicate with each other or John quit talking to her.
that's no doubt the reason John picked up on Yoko. She was more than willing to do all those drugs, but she brought in heroin for a nightcap! All those drugs made John easy to manipulate, for sure.
@Rex Rampage o come on everybody i dont belive you decent people not and onestly i dont now why the people tasted lsd thats one of the worst experiences and fellings and toxic things onestly i wil be very scary if someone taste marihuana and the effecs they cause they scary tasted any drugs
@Rex Rampage Cynthia, was a decent loving wife. Sure she got money for writing her book JOHN, but it was to tell her side of the story no one knew. Just like The Beatles made records for money. If you read the book you would get a clearer picture of how deceitful and manipulate John could be. Unfortunately, John did exactly what his own Dad did to him. So history repeated itself. As for Yoko she had her own agenda. I know it takes two to make a marriage but John was completely wrong in the way he treated his 1st family. As Julian mentioned in an interview " His Dad preached Love & Peace but he showed now of that to us". I think if John had lived he might have made amends according to what he communicated to his family in England, since they were all cut off from him when he married Yoko & moved to NYC. Everyone has their opinion & this is mine & you have yours.
cynthia stuck with john from when he literally had to beg for gigs at seedy night clubs until he became an international phenomenon. i cant believe he left this loving woman on such terrible terms for yoko ono and threw her under the bus. read "John" by Cynthia Lennon if you want to know more about her role in his life...verry interesting book

3:46 pm. 1/28/2022 my first time , ever watching anything on Mrs. Cynthia Lennon. What a gem of a person she was...your loss John. What a mistake letting her go really.
How gentle and soft spoken is she....I hate that John didn't stay with her. She could have probably helped John through his issues more so than Yoko ever could. She likely would have had the patience with him during that time that he needed. You can she truly was in love with him.
Cyn is so lovely and soft-spoken. (Totally opposite from his second, witchy wife.) If only John remained in England w/Cyn, he'd be here today. I wish there were more interviews with her. Cyn's books were a good read, especially the last, 'John.' Very informative.
Yoko was Japanese, and they could still have lived in the UK. The met in the UK, so she had the right to live here. Anyway George Harrison and Paul and Ringo ALL married American women!, and continued to live in England!!!!
That's a useless, potentially offensive, comment. Noone can forecast whether someone would still be alive, least of all any famous person. I can't actually imagine such a genius as John getting much more out of life for much longer as he'd already 'done it all' in cultural terms, mostly. He paved the way for David Bowie. It was an awful murder yet I strangely can't imagine it not happening as I never knew a mid 1980s, let alone a 1990s John Lennon. I think he'd regard the world as becoming an increasingly less serious circus and I can't foresee a particularly happy rest of life, just as I couldn't for Jim Morrison or Kurt Cobain.Once such a legend, the rest of your life is as a performing shadow, with the real human being feeling increasingly like a stranger in the cultural landscape they helped make. They already lived the life of hundreds of people in a short space of time.
To understand why Lennon fell for Yoko, you have to understand the relationship of Stuart Sutcliffe & Astrid Kircher which, for John, constituted an ideal love. Stuart & Astrid were a pair of avante-garde artists who became soul mates. While Cynthia may have thought of herself as an artist, she wasn't in the same league with Astrid or Yoko. Just as Stuart abandoned The Beatles for life & love with Astrid, so John would attempt to duplicate him. But did he succeed?
i doubt there's a day goes by when Cyn doesn't think about John, she loved him when he a was nobody AND when he was one of the biggest musician's in the world! John was daft to leave her and Julian the way he did, that's one thing i'll never understand about John :(
Terry Wogan's chat show went out Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights on BBC1 at 19.00. If Lennon had lived and if he'd returned to the UK in the early eighties as he might well have done then it's this programme where I think he might have appeared. I suspect that there might have been some rumours in the press and a few no shows but finally his arrival at Heathrow might have been chaotically covered in the lunchtime news. When Andy Peebles interviewed him in 1980 he reported that one of Lennon's first questions had been ''How's Bernie?'', ie Bernie Andrews, BBC producer, so it's conceivable that Lennon would have been prepared to appear, possibly at short notice that night, especially since the beeb would have been desperate to get him. If Lennon had been in the right mood then it could have been a joyous affair. Assuming a guitar was available then John might have been prepared to play, solo, in some fashion and we've seen before that those off the cuff performances are often the best. So what do you think? He's obviously going to want to promote his latest material but there's an opening for something from the past: In My Life? I Want To Hold Your Hand? The programme was only half an hour long and followed by the then new Eastenders soap but would the Corporation just let him carry on if it was good.
I don't think she ever stopped loving him. If I remember correctly she still retained the surname of Lennon after her first couple marriages. Of course this may have been because she wanted to keep the same surname as her son, but truly I think it was because she still loved john.
From this and many more interviews i've come to the conclusion that there is one major difference between Cynthia and Yoko. Cynthia never and still doesn't want fame.

Paul cheated on Jane. Ringo cheated on Maureen. It doesn't matter which way you spin it, it's all the same.
It wasn't stable, and Yoko elaborated on that. It wasn't as much as an average person, but he still saw her many times. It wasn't luck. It was the fact that John was a drug addict, and Cynthia didn't want to go there with him.
John loved Yoko with all his heart & soul just as he loved Cynthia, if you hate Yoko you hate John, he said that many times. And for anyone to say she was "hotter" is just a matter of opinion and looks more like racism than personal preference. That said I found Cynthia's book "John" an amazing story.
