Wow. This was one of your best travel locations yet. Definitely a paradise, so quiet and peaceful! A place like this is to me the ultimate beach vacation. An hour or two of walking on an empty shore like that is just the perfect relaxation therapy☺
Totally agree! We love the fact it's low key and not too busy, sure it could be a little bit more beautiful, but with less of a crowd and low prices we'll take that compromise!
Hey kids, love your work. As Gili Air veterans and semi-regulars (honeymoon 1998, nine trips since), mrs and I can't resist presumptuously throwing in some handy hints and observations, if you're loitering there for a bit: 1) The best snorkeling route on the island is to toddle about 100m north of Manta Dive on the east side (say hi to our old mate Rob the manager), snorkel out to the drop-off - slowly so you don't miss juvenile fishy weirdos in the shallows - hang a right and follow the live coral, billions of fish, turtles etc about 300m to Chill Out Bar (cocktail happy hour, excellent BBQ and whatnot). It's easy to spot the destination through your masks as the coral clears and a white, sandy bottom (good name for a band) presents itself for the discerning swimmer. Best swimming spot on GA by far. 2) This sounds counter-intuitive, but don't underestimate the beauty of having the sun set behind you. It cuts incredible golden light through the coconut palms, and the sky turns mauve then purple as the moon rises (if your timing is fortuitous). 3) Restaurant recommendations, you say? Well if they're open (we'll find out when we visit in October), Ruby's is a huge favourite, but we love the local nosh, so we hit the warungs as recommended by, say, Rob at Manta Dive. He knows, he's lived there since the Renaissance.
Oh, I laughed so hard at "question mark." I do that to my husband all the time when he doesn't realize I've asked a question. I've never heard anyone else do that. Love it. ♥️
Sure is a chilled island Your villa is Gorgeous 💕 My Indonesië neighbors have told us about the many beautiful islands. See plenty of photos too When he cooks smells divine 😜 Wow you both be tipsy 😂 after that cocktail 😜🫣 Great video. Hope Nalu doing well ? Enjoy rest of your Week & have a Good weekend 🥰
Gili Air, What a chill Island, Our kind of place . It looks like you had the island all to yourself. A great place to celebrate a Wedding or Anniversary (hint hint). Nalu would enjoy it too. As always, guys, a great video and a wonderful series. Sending you much love from Richmond, Va.❤❤❤ Harriet, Jim and Yuki
The islands of Gili Air, Trawangan and Meno are not included in the territory of Bali friends, the three islands are included in the Lombok region, West Nusa Tenggara Province. These three islands are still included in the customary territory of the Sasak tribe and they do not allow motorized vehicles to use only bicycles and rickshaws. 🙏
Gorgeous! Aside from you guys, I subscribe to a few travel channels on TH-cam. Seems like everyone else is in some frigid snowy location right now, but you guys are in shirt and shorts in a tropical paradise! I like your style! Save a sip of that cocktail for me! LOL!! 😎🍹🌞🏖
I am from Central Java, Indonesia, there is a lot of food at low prices on the side of the road ..Price below 10 thousand..But welcome to Bali bro n sis❤
Thanks for the video. Did you walk to your hotel, or did you do the horse and cart again? I am trying to plan my Gili trip and am a little Nervous about the horse issues. Thanks!
Gili Air is the one but i'm surprised your beach shots didn't show the reality of plastic trash, unfortunately common in Lombok and Bali. Anyway I hope you two got pizza from 'Mama Pizza', but also ate locally, in which case (for anyone reading this) suss out Warung Parida. Coffee at Cafe Alegria opposite the harbour is great for a coffee and smoothie bowl, Barefoot Blondie apparently good too.
We didn't see any excess trash anywhere on this trip actually, we weren't hiding it at all. The most noticeable place was probably Gili T actually but I think we talked about the contrast in that vid I think, but nothing like years gone by
Nice island really close to home if you want you can come to America and ride hoses on my ranch open invitation just let me know. Oh and private ranch i don't give rides lol
Looks nice, but I wouldn't travel thousands of miles just to be on an undeveloped island and beach. I've seen plenty of beaches in my life and they all kind of look similar, so it takes a lot to impress me. The type of people that go to these locations are like young spring breakers just looking for a cheap place to drink and party.
@@drippingout6154 My personal preference has been to live in a cooler, less humid place the past few years. Been living here in Cuernavaca Mexico an hour and a half outside of Mexico City. Low 80 degrees during the day and high 50s 60s at night.
Gili Air = trash everywhere, trash burning everywhere and witnessing animal abuse 24/7. The prayers are the smallest thing that would bother anyone. It’s absolutely awful there and I do not recommend visiting. Stayed there for 4 nights and was more than happy to leave.

Amazing tips team, thanks so much! People find these videos in years to come and comments like this prove to be super helpful

Haha really? That's so funny!
I loved the Gilis when I was there. The vibe felt more like Polynesia than Indonesia, but with much better food!
Good point! Yeah we can totally see that in places now you say it
What a paradise island. Somewhere else on my wish list. Thanks for showing us these amazing places
You're SO welcome!
Looks so beautiful and gorgeous , private place you are staying 💕
I'm going to Island view on Gili Air in 6 weeks! So the fact you stopped there bodes well! 😆👍👍
It was the highlight of our trip mate, you're gonna love it

Yeah we were pretty tipsy after that cocktail (or 3) good times indeed!
What a stunning part of the world. Thank you for sharing it with us 🌺
Totally agree!
Been there a few months ago, stayed at Ama Lurra, seems at the same room if not mistaken. Nice place indeed ❤
Awesome! Hope you had an amazing time as well
Loving the Gili islands!!
Thanks Dane & Stacey ✌️😎🥰🇮🇩✨
Thanks for travelling with us
Fantastic work guys
Love loved it 👏

Awww Nalu would love it! He loves the beach... we however, not so much with him hahah, the clean up is such a bloody pain lol
Oooh that boat ride makes me nervous but the views look so worth it.

Kayak dia tau deh, gili ada di lombok soalnya 0:58 ada tulisan lombok tapi judul vlog bali
@@mackiesa3385 Thanks :)
Yup we know - it's in the vlog title and explained more in the description, but most people visiting Bali don't know
Really liking your content these days. Will definitely watch every episode now. I like the ENERGY now. Performing for the camera so key.
We appreciate that!
Awesome insight for travellers guys, editing on Point as usual ❤ youse xo😊
Cheeeooww - thank you!
i watched your NZ road trip journey, because i''ll be visiting soon. and now you guys in Gili, welcome.
Stoked! Thanks for following along
What a beautiful place! I love the villa you had :)
It was so dreamy!
Amazing 🤩 video again you guy’s! That accommodation is stunning. That island 🏝️ is more relaxed and chill vibes! 🥰🥰
Oh it was paradise! Such a beautiful part of the world

Haha well theres definitely times where we'd trade for some snow! But this sunny scene was pretty spesh!
Vibes After Vibes! 🤩🙌😎
Hellll yeah !
Nice vid and full of positive vibes. Everything seems to be empty. What time of the year have you been there?
From memory this was about November, just before busy season
Another great video🎉
Thank you for making us travel with you
Thanks for coming along
Hi, Is Nusa Lembongan worth visiting if we cant get to Gili Air. Or should we take the trouble to visit?
I am from Central Java, Indonesia, there is a lot of food at low prices on the side of the road
..Price below 10 thousand..But welcome to Bali bro n sis❤
this lombok
Great video! Curious when you went, if there was a lot of rain…and if Ramadan was happening + if it affected your stay?
We were there in November 2023 :)
How busy do you think it will be there this time of year?
It all depends on school holidays in Aus and NZ, avoid those at all costs!
Thanks for the video. Did you walk to your hotel, or did you do the horse and cart again? I am trying to plan my Gili trip and am a little
Nervous about the horse issues. Thanks!
It's not walkable sadly, so you'll need the horse again!
@@DanegerAndStacey thank you for the response! I am really hoping I could just drag my bag to the hotel. Seems unlikely.
I can't see a problem with the horses, they look strong ponies and well fed.
Pretty sweet accomodations for a good price! Can you take a ferry straight to Gili Air or do you have to go to the other Gilis first?
Sadly you gotta go via another Gili or 2, but the stops are pretty fast thankfully and they're all like 5 mins apart
How disturbing are the call for prayers? Going in August and planning on staying on the northeast/east end of the island..need my beauty sleep xD
Not too bad at all on Gili Air. Gili T is quite loud in the centre of the island/closer to the port from memory but its honestly not bad
Hey guys I can't find Vlog 9 and 10...please help. I'm hooked!
They probably weren't out when you commented, should have seen em by now?
@@DanegerAndStacey yep have since watched them plus the wrap up episode. Pure gold and thanks for all the tips. Going to Bali for first time in May !

Could you hear the mosque in the morning on this side of island?
Not really, maybe a little because it's kind of everywhere not just one place. Its just part of the charm and it's only short
Definitely a slice of paradise right there 😎
This series is epic.
Did you squeeze in a second pina colada?🍸 🤪
More like 3 pina coladas! (each)
Come to my city Banyuwangi ...do you know blue fire in Ijen mountain ... ??
Already ep 8 two more for bali vlog, dont want to end.. 😭
All good things must come to a end it seems :(
North of Lombok ❤
Yup - we gotta check out more of mainland Lombo
WOW!! Bali or Cook Islands?
Neither! Lombok.
We here ya on that! Lots of similarities
You must visit 👉 east java, borobudur temple, white crater......................
Hi Sir I'm from Pakistan and wana study in Australia so which city will be best for me i wana study master in psychology
We're not from Aus, can't really recommend the best city sorry
Nice island really close to home if you want you can come to America and ride hoses on my ranch open invitation just let me know. Oh and private ranch i don't give rides lol
gili is not bali but part of lombok island
Yup, we say that in the video. But the general public doesn't know that
The Gilis aren’t apart of Bali but..
There are not many tourists
It was perfect!

so developed island like Hawaii?
