I'm a naija boy for life!
Genetic studies have shown that African Americans in the US have more African ancestry from populations that lived near present-day Nigeria than from populations that lived elsewhere in Atlantic Africa (Western and west central Africa). In agreement, it was shown in this study Nigerian as the most common ancestry within the US, the French Caribbean, and the British Caribbean, among descendants of the African transatlantic slave trade. I personally did my DNA test, and like most African Americans I found out that 90+ % of our DNA is of African people originating from modern-day Nigeria and the surrounding regions which includes the entire Sahel region of Africa. Slavery may have stolen our African languages, cultures, and our ties to Mama Africa, but as an African-American a descendant of African slaves, I I am proud and truly appreciate and love our sisters and brothers from Nigeria who I consider our distant family.

Go to ur village, visit ur uncle or aunt, reunite with ur brothers and sisters and cousins, let ur kids relate with their uncle and aunts, and their cousins, they'll teach them Yoruba, even if they can't teach Yoruba, at least they'll teach them pidgin. 😂

Growing up in philly (U.S)... i was ashamed of my heritage for a long time. Cuz back then the hood didn't care for Africans and fitting in ur environment is very important for young kids. But recently thanks to the music and films like black panther...its suddenly become a bit cool to be of African decent. Slowly i developed more pride. But this video really made a impact. Im actually proud to be a nigerian. And now i know why. Thank you.🙏
