Deacon, I’m not black (or American). But if I was I think I’d just rather be called “American” rather than “African American” OR “black”. I mean, is there any point referring to the “African” or to the “black” descriptors? They seem like the terminology that perpetuates the continuation of an irrelevant distinction that contributes to disunity of peoples.
