@@mrgiraffe2702 No. Honestly just the first 24 hours were painful. It got better. I only have 5 trays left and they are a bit sore with each new change but not nearly as bad as the first time.

It was interesting to see that in your case you had to go triple the initial time, so I’ll keep my expectations lower regarding the total treatment time. It was great watching all your videos. Congratulations for the results! Cheers
Your teeth look amazing definitely worth the journey , im right at the beginnings today registered for the free consultation . Im hoping for a big improvement.
Thank you so much for your videos on Invisalign. I start my treatments in about a week. I have learned a lot from your videos. My total cost is $3800, which I think was the same as yours. Mine also includes whitening and some bonding. I hope I get as good results as you did, your teeth look great.
Your teeth look great! I've had braces 3X lol (I'm not great at wearing the retainers) and your experience with Invisalign seems much more agreeable than traditional braces. Congratulations on your fantastic new grill!
Thank you I think your videos were perfect. I had my first consult September 17th and start my journey November 11th that's not the day I get my invisalign but the first step I'm just like you I AM NOT STRIVING FOR A HOLLYWOOD SMILE JUST MORE UNIFORMED👍
Thank you so much for these videos! I'm about to make the leap myself, and perhaps I'm in a similar position to you - early/mid 30s, no functional or health issues with my teeth, just a brit with British teeth (never had braces as a kid and slightly wonky teeth). Your comments on not needing to have invisalign but wanting to go ahead anyway resonated - so one question: would you do it again, knowing the effort required? And did the pain disrupt your sleep or ability to work at all? Thanks again!
I am glad you have found the videos helpful Dorothea. Yes, I would do it again. I won't lie at times they were frustrating. Just the inconvenience of taking them out for eating etc. But, it was well worth it. I really had very little pain and what pain I had was temporary. It's not the same for everyone. Perhaps I am a bit more tolerant of the discomfort. The pain was worst in the first week or so. I think only once or twice did I take some painkillers just to help ease the aching. It never affected my sleep that I recall.
I am currently halfway through my 15-month Invisalign procedure. My teeth already look perfect to me. In fact, at my last checkup, my dentist's assistant thought that a couple of bottom teeth could use a tiny bit of rotating. She did a new scan of my teeth and said that even if the dentist does not agree with her assessment when he comes in to check, we can use the scan to make my retainer. That signals to me that I could be done if I choose not to do the refinement. I did agree to do it and was told to wear the current trays until my new trays are made in three or four weeks. Well, it has been six weeks and still no new trays! My question is, since I'm stuck on the same trays for six weeks and they're not really snug anymore, are my teeth being harmed or being moved slightly out of position now? Of course, I can't ask my dentist because he'll claim everything is fine as he scrambles to find out where my new trays are. I'm wondering if they lost my scans or forgot to send them to Invisalign for printing up.
I appreciate your concerns. I went through a similar time period wearing the same set of trays as new ones were made for refinements. Demand for Invisalign is high at present so there may well be delays a bit longer than normal but I would have thought you would have gotten them by now. The trays you are using will be fine as they will be keeping the teeth in place. They will feel a a little looser as they are no longer really having to apply the pressure they once did as your teeth have moved. Now the aligner is acting as a retainer. I would chase your dentist for an update.
@@ElectricTeeth - Thank you for replying and putting my worries aside! I called my dentist twice and will call again in a day or so if I get no response.
Your final result is great! I just finished my treatment. It looked perfect after 34 trays, but the orthodontist thought a couple of teeth on the bottom could use slight rotating. We did refinement trays, but then it opened up gaps because he forgot to check contact points with floss. So more refinements. Gaps didn't close up enough, so he cut out the molars on the remaining trays. Helped a little, I guess, but I'm sad I didn't insist on stopping after the 34 trays. I have now been wearing my retainers a few days. Is it normal to have the wisdom teeth cut off the retainers? I feel like gaps between teeth on the bottom left side are bigger because floss goes in way too easily. Would this be as a result of the wisdom teeth not being covered by the retainer? Also, he told me to wear the retainers 22 hours a day for a month. The usual is 3-4 months to firm up the area around the roots. Is there harm in only one month? Should I just go for two anyway?
Hey. I can't say if it is normal to have wisdom teeth cut off retainers. It probably depends whether they have come through properly or not. Mine for example are only and will only ever be partially erupted and so they don't get covered with the retainer. I can't imagine missing them off will really have much of an impact because those teeth won't have been moved with the braces originally. Gaps between teeth are not always completely equal. I use different sized interdental brushes between some teeth and others. It varies from one person to another. Do you have a permeant/bonded retainer too or just removable? If just removable, the longer you can wear the retainer the better but ultimately you will likely want to enjoy your smile without the retainer. If you are happy to wear for 2 months rather than 1, there is no harm that can come from this.
@@ElectricTeeth - Thank you for answering all my questions. I only have the Vivera removable retainers. I had asked my orthodontist why only one month. He said because I wore the trays so well and maintained cleaning of my teeth throughout. I read later that it takes a few months to firm up the root area, so it has nothing to do with how well you wore the trays. Thanks for putting my mind at ease about wearing them longer. I don't really want to, but I will, just to be sure.
Great results, John! I'm currently undergoing Invisalign, and also believe I will go through whitening and bonding at the end of the treatment. As bonding will change the shape of your teeth - did you require another set of removal retainers to account for this?
No. Because my dentist knew I was having bonding done, they made allowances for this before creating the retainer. What they did is added a bit of filling material to my tooth where the bonding would be completed. Think of it like a really cheap and nasty version of having the bonding done. They did this for the the purpose of the scan of the teeth to have the retainer made. The filling material was then removed. I then had the cosmetic dentist complete the bonding properly and the retainer fit perfectly due to the temporary filling material placement during the scan.
The videos you created gave Give insight on the process the viewers appreciate it. Question what cleaner solution did you use for the Invisalign trays ?
I used a toothbrush and clean running water each time I took them out. And then once a day I would soak them in a retainer cleaner. In my particular instance i used 'Retainer Brite'.
Looks great! I just got my aligners today. I was not told abt the attachments beforehand, nor the IPR. I was crying after my appt. My teeth are straight. I got the aligners for my open bite. So having my pretty white teeth with a gap from IPR procedure that was not discussed with me, absolutely destroyed me. Ortho said he needed room and it will be brought together. I'm still sad because I liked the shape of my front teeth before he filed them away without telling me. 🥺😢 Please send 🙏 this works out. Did you have to keep the attachments on for ALL the trays?
Sorry to hear this. I am surprised they did not tell you beforehand. All being well you will be really happy with the treatment come the end and your smile will look great. Yes, the attachments were kept for all my trays.
Hi Rafael. I just took the braces out. Once in a while it is fine to go extended periods without wearing them, if you can't really avoid it. Lets say I went out at 7pm and got back at 11pm, I didn't notice my teeth shift during that time.
I had braces in 2016 to 2018 Teeth aren’t too bad but I know they could be better , but anyways I have a 10 month treatment coming up and my Ortho gave me 1K off bc of no insurance, and it’s only gonna be 3.5K , so I’m excited I get my impressions done 9/26
Amazing results!! People must be so fussy, that’s a winning smile! Did you pay everything upfront? Are payment plans available and if so what’s the minimum required per month?
I had to pay an initial deposit. I then paid in a couple of installments as the treatment progressed. This wasn't on a finance/payment plan. I had saved the money ahead of time. Payment/finance plans are generally available. They differ from one dental practice to another, but they are generally going to be similar costs and similar terms.
@Electric Teeth, in your introductory video, you set out to use the Invisalign's for just 18 weeks (3 months). Why did it end up being 18 months? Thanks.
The main thing is I misunderstood the time frame. I was given 14 trays to begin with and I thought that was it. But turns out that was just the first batch of trays. 😬 The original treatment plan was estimate to be around 8 months. It ended up being a bit longer due to the pandemic and extra trays required to 'refine' the changes and get them looking right.
I have watched your Invisalign series with interest. I am on day 3 of my first aligner. Interesting to note a lot of people saying they are on aligner x of y weeks. Mine are changed every 10 days so with a planned 34 aligners currently that will be 340 days so 48 to 49 weeks. I will also needs rubber bands from about week 5 or 6. I am having no issues wearing the aligners but I find them a little difficult to get out. I have also found in one area my teeth are really sensitive to the point I can't brush them! I have already given up with my electric toothbrush in favour of a soft manual brush. Does that go away? Any tips?

Electric Teeth did you use a Vibrating Mouthpiece during your treatment. Lots of videos and online articles talk about Vibrating mouthpiece speeding up the Invisalign aligning process.
Hi, I am on my second last tray.. Just concern how your teeth are doing now with the retainers? Are they still in the same position or slightly moved from the position
🙋🏻♀️ My dentist supplies Reveal aligners, and I've had a quote for treatment which will last 24 months. My front teeth are overlapping and bottom front teeth have moved backwards and slightly apart. Do you know if Reveal aligners are of the same quality as Invisalign? Would you say aligners have more pros than cons when compared to fixed metal braces?
I don't know enough about Reveal to comment honestly. I suspect they do a comparable job. Invisalign are just the premium/most popular brand. Providing the treatment is dentist led, that is a good start. Personally, yes, I think aligners have more pros than cons. The more discreet nature and you can take them out when you need to. I didn't wear them a couple of times for special events etc. It depends on how compliant/committed you are. I have heard of many who don't wear the trays long enough, because they can take them out and then subsequently, teeth don't move quickly. So if this is you fixed is better because you can't remove.
Hi, I, too, received this treatment. It was recently completed. Yet, I can tell that my gums are receding more, resulting in bigger gaps between my teeth. It is also receding where the teeth are located. I'm curious whether this happened to you. Plz assist me. As time passes, I get increasingly concerned.
This has not happened to me. The gaps and gum around the teeth can look different to what you are used to, due to the new position of the teeth. I advise you speak to your dentist to get personalised advice based on your teeth and the treatment you had.
Hey, I have a question about the period of the Invisalign . My dentist said it’s enough for your teeth only 14 trays about 6_7 month. I have only one problem for my teeth normally my teeth are straight and I have a little of overbite . But I’m worrying about the duration of treatments it seems so short for me Now I’m waiting my trays she ordered already.
The main drawbacks are your teeth can be sensitive whilst you whiten them. You generally need to try and avoid more staining food and drinks during this time if you can help it. You don't have to continually do them, but many people will 'top up' their whitening once a year or so to keep them looking great.
@@ElectricTeeth thanks for the insight. Also ordered my a sonicare 4100 becuase of your well sought out reviews. Final thing is a water flosser. Might you recommend me one? Or point me in the direction of video reviews you've made on them.

I don’t understand how a 14week treatment turned into an 18 month one. That’s a shockingly longer amount of time. Now I wonder how long I will have mine. The doctor said 12-14 months. Should he have said 3-5 years? My treatment cost $6000US so this all has me very concerned. Only 9 days in, they really are a lot of fuss. I know it’s all for the best, but eating is no longer enjoyable. I just want to finish eating so I can clean my teeth, and the trays, and get them back in so they can do their job. They’re not uncomfortable to wear but 12-14 months is a very long time, unfortunately.
I am not sure if you saw one of my earlier videos in this series, but I misunderstood the timing. I was given 14 trays in my first batch. I interpreted this as all I would need when in actual fact the claimed time frame on my paperwork was much longer. I thought I would get all the trays and just have checkups along the way. I didn't realise the trays were provided in batches. They do this in case changes need to be made to future trays and therefore they are not manufacturing aligner trays that will never be used. So, I think 12-14 months sounds about right. 👍
I had a treatment call Interproximal Reduction (IPR). Essentially my triangle shaped teeth were filed to allow them to come together better withouth the gap.
Great question. I don't know exactly. I should try to find out. I think they mainly use high powered drills to essentially break the attachments down before using special solutions to remove any adhesive etc.
I had a root canal and 2 teeth with crowns right next to one another and Invisalign does fine with moving them. If your mouth is too crowded your ortho may give you the option to have some teeth extracted but it will certainly add time onto your treatment process.
Joshua Lewis - I've had a few root canals and I have many crowns, top and bottom rows. I am currently in the middle of my Invisalign procedure and already my teeth have straightened beautifully. Also, my bottom row was overcrowded and would be getting worse with age. One tooth was being pushed into a row by itself! This also has been corrected already. My dentist assured me that having crowns is not a problem.
@@Heleous281 I’m only on the third tray, changing every 2 weeks so it’s still early on but already I’m seeing my bottom row come into line. Really don’t find it all that painful either.

I can't comment on the treatment time specifically but it sounds about right it only a little adjustment is needed.
Apparently you don't need that much
@@ElectricTeeth thank you so much
@@candyluna2929 definitely but she said if will needed I will order another trays
Are their any drawbacks to whitening your teeth? Do you have to continually do them?
The main drawbacks are your teeth can be sensitive whilst you whiten them. You generally need to try and avoid more staining food and drinks during this time if you can help it. You don't have to continually do them, but many people will 'top up' their whitening once a year or so to keep them looking great.
@@ElectricTeeth thanks for the insight. Also ordered my a sonicare 4100 becuase of your well sought out reviews. Final thing is a water flosser. Might you recommend me one? Or point me in the direction of video reviews you've made on them.
👍 Thanks.
Sure thing - here is a video with our recommendations - th-cam.com/video/E4HZCaeoDmg/w-d-xo.html

Very nice teeth
did you have problems getting the invisaligns out mine are really bad
No not really. Occasionally they were more tricky.
Help? How does your body work something out of your gums, that you can't get to on your own, if they are always in an Invisalign tray?
Err when you take the trays out to brush and floss?
@@ElectricTeeth it's not coming out with floss or pick or water floss. Very deep in there.
If you have something lodged in your gum your likely going to need to see the dentist. Your gum doesn't tend to work these things out.
Is the bonded retainer included in all cases of Invisalign?
No. Most come with it but it does depend on the dentist and their approach.
how did your black triangle in between your central incisors disappear with invisalign??
I had a treatment call Interproximal Reduction (IPR). Essentially my triangle shaped teeth were filed to allow them to come together better withouth the gap.
Is having sleep apnea and therefore using a CPAP machine contraindicated for sleeping with Invisalign?
This is a question for the orthodontist. I want to say no, but I am not qualified to say.
No. I use a cpap machine and wear Invisalign no problem
just curious, how do they remove the attachments on the teeth?
Great question. I don't know exactly. I should try to find out. I think they mainly use high powered drills to essentially break the attachments down before using special solutions to remove any adhesive etc.
Just wonder how long the metal bonds need to be there?
They are designed to be a permanent fixture. Whether you keep them forever is up to you and your dentist to decide.
How much did the bonding cost?
Several hundred pounds.
what about smoking with invisalign?
As a non-smoker I can't comment. I am presuming the advice would be avoid it and if you have to take the aligners out.
It's thermo plastic so it will warp the trays and change shape
Out here looking like a reincarnated Rick James.
My ortho in usa wa cost me 6500$ 😅
How can someone w multiple root canals and extra teeth straighten them?
I had a root canal and 2 teeth with crowns right next to one another and Invisalign does fine with moving them. If your mouth is too crowded your ortho may give you the option to have some teeth extracted but it will certainly add time onto your treatment process.
@@TheLegendarySlug Thank you for your insight!...Are you satisfied w your results thusfar?
Joshua Lewis - I've had a few root canals and I have many crowns, top and bottom rows. I am currently in the middle of my Invisalign procedure and already my teeth have straightened beautifully. Also, my bottom row was overcrowded and would be getting worse with age. One tooth was being pushed into a row by itself! This also has been corrected already. My dentist assured me that having crowns is not a problem.
@@Heleous281 I’m only on the third tray, changing every 2 weeks so it’s still early on but already I’m seeing my bottom row come into line. Really don’t find it all that painful either.
@@TheLegendarySlug Awesome! Good luck on your journey! Healthy smile incoming 😄👌
18 months and 3k+!!!! Nam mate, should have just got train tracks.
The price for regular braces wouldn't have been much different.
@@ElectricTeeth I dunno man.. I just paid 895 for mine. Both arches and fixed retainers included.
