This is a huge improvement. First trailer was a legit joke. This looks like it could actually be good. Not expecting a 10/10 film obviously but it definitely looks more entertaining (and less horrifically bad) now
As someone who grew up with Minecraft, this is a much better trailer and seeing bts on the movie, I gotta say that there’s genuine passion and enthusiasm behind the movie. I don’t think it’s gonna blow me away but hey if it entertains me then I’ll call it a win.
Napolean Dynamite is a comedy classic and actually holds up really well. I just showed it to my nephews and they loved it. Nacho Libre is also a classic. I haven't seen Gentlemen Broncos but I know a lot of people say it is underrated. I'd say thats a pretty good track record, even if he hasn't made a movie in a while. I suspect this movie will have similar humor to his previous films, loved by many and misunderstood by most. My only concern is if the big budget and the difficult concept get in the way of Hess's strengths.
As someone who's been playing Minecraft for 11 years, I'm loving the look of this. It seems like it's going to be really fun, and I really appreciate the unique look as opposed to them just doing traditional Minecraft animation we've seen a million times on the internet. Might catch hate for this but idc, I'm excited 🤷♂️

Looks like it follows a very similar plot to the Mario Movie. As a Minecraft veteran since 2012, some things they have absolutely nailed. Noticed they have elytra’s which bums me a bit cause we probs won’t get a dragon fight

@ I completely get that. The reason why i’m interested for this is the same reason I’m excited for the HTTYD remake and that’s because it’s a franchise I’m familiar with/know a lot about. Now I don’t play at all anymore, but the first time I started playing Minecraft is when I was 9/10 years old (18 now). So I think the target audience is people who grew up with it like my generation and the younger generation who are just now finding out and getting into it.

As a teenager who had played way to much Minecraft the game itself has some interesting lore that could be expanded into a good story. However the studio just wants to make a bad money grab.
Anybody saying "it looks better than the first trailer" is an industry dead-internet-theory ai plant and cannot be trusted. Or the more likely option, they don't understand what made the first one bad. Keep in mind all those bad things from the first trailer will not be removed.
I think what’s putting me off about this movie is that 75% of the characters (not counting Steve) seem really jaded and annoyed with everything that’s happening. I could forgive having one character be the stand-in for confused parents, but why do we need THREE characters to constantly roll their eyes at the camera and go “Minecraft is weird amirite gamers??”
I will give them some slack for at least doing research on how Minecraft world works and that its already looks better than Madame Webs trailer, but Im still skeptical if they have cringy puns

The most obvious way to make it to a film is have it where they’re going on a quest that Herobrine has set you on and at the start you have to face one of the bosses and then you can make more films but yeah this is eh
Hollywood needs to let go of their obsession with Jack Black. dude was peak in 90s/2000s the minecraft kids do not have attachment to this dude. this movie is a big mistake
I have a very strong feeling this film will be another film where audiences are critics completely disagree. It will have a very low RT score for taking it apart as a movie but it will have a very high audience score for all minecraft fans. A lot like the mario movie, another video game movie that audiences and critics disagreed on, only difference is, unlike the mario movie, i think this minecraft movie might flop

This trailer makes the world fun, and I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with Steve. The other 4 just look and sound so boring, and just unfunny. It won’t be the next Lego movie, but it’s not gonna be absolutely awful like the first trailer made us all think.
I think the setup helps to justify why it looks like guys on a green screen a lot more. I also like they are committing to the game mechanics. Otherwise it would just be a terrible CSI kids movie
