Skill drain hender this deck no? The monster are to weak as far as atk to have skill drain active. Is there another card or cards usful than skill drain?

Maiden does not work like that. "The field is treated as umi". Kairyu Shin reads, "While umi is on the field". Ive done the testing. It is an outdated text. I wish man. I wish.

Interesting.... I used online simulators like YugiohOmega and DuelingNexus and Maiden allowed Kairyu Shins effect to apply. I believe you are incorrect.
Maiden is not Umi, but the Field is treated as Umi, which is what Kairyu Shin needs to use it's floodgate effect.
