In my honest opinion, I've tried many niche fragrances in the past few years so it's not like I'm approaching to this world or business for the first time. Therefore I can firmly say that no matter how many modern, strong , sophisticated scents you smell nowadays, Creed Green Irish Tweed is one of the top3 best niche fragrances of all the times. So I would rather say that this is a fragrance to settle down with for the rest of your life rather than a fragrance to approach for the first time to this fantastic world.

I got my bottle of GIT in March, on first wear I thought it was weak performance wise. I let it set for six weeks and there was a noticeable difference especially in the opening, that lemon verbana was real present, but the freshness and brightness of it is what really got my attention. I will wear it to work tomorrow and then let it set until next spring, I’m sure it will be even better. Great review sir

Yeah they usually say it gets more potent once it gets some oxygen. Like a good wine you got to let it breathe. However, on a contrary note I find that the quality in smell of all the creed fragrances compared to pre 2010 are not as rich and as potent as old batches. I’m glad you were able to get more potency as this fragrance is probably the GOAT

Lord have mercy, Green Irish Tweed. Twenty years ago this month I bought my first bottle of Green Irish Tweed, also my first purchase from this house. Right on the spot I became a fan of the fragrance and a dyed-in-the-wool Creed supremacist. Unlike a lot of folks I still enjoy the brand a great deal. Very classy scent and perfect for spring and summer. Ironically I never get compliments on fragrances I wear, but GIT garnered two positive notices this year. I have two bottles now, a smaller one for traveling and the big boy for local excursions. Smell of success indeed! Like you, GIT is better on me than Aventus and I enjoy that scent very much as well.

I recently had a subscriber (who was new to niche) ask me to recommend either Aventus, GIT or EROLFA.....I went with GIT. In my response I mentioned to this young man, that 20 years from now, this scent will still work and he'll love wearing it......and you've just proven that I was going to be right!
Congrats on the anniversary! This is a timeless fragrance that projects a wonderful confident masculinity that works on everyone.

Every time I hear two fragrances smelling the same or very similar I think they must have broken noses or something.
Same with the "dupes". They all fail to smell like the real thing because 1)Perfumery is very complicated and it takes a lot of time, effort and skill to make a great fragrance and they don't have access to the original recipe 2)They don't have the quality raw materials.
Take the most duped fragrance out there, Aventus. Not a single one could fool me into thinking it was the real deal in a blind test. THEY SUCK!

Right on, I’m a big creed fanboy, and I always try to get the good batch numbers. Having both of the good batch numbers 2010 and below, I can affirm that after even owning a bottle of vetiver 48, I can attest that green Irish tweed evokes a general sense of self comfort and calm. I find it soothing to wear and then the harsh notes kick in and you smell the grittiness of the wood… then with the high note of citrus and violet. Absolutely was probably the best Creed fragrance until Aventus, however it’s GIT for me

In the beginning it felt more like 5-6 hours, but I was never really sure if I become so used to it I couldn't smell it anymore or if it actually wore off. Hey Marcelo (or anyone else who can answer),
Any tips on how to tell how much juice is left in your GIT bottle? I saw a video where a Creed employee said if you can put a flashlight behind the bottle and see how much is left then it's probably not an authentic bottle. I've tried putting the bottle in the fridge to see if the condensation line would indicate juice level but no luck.

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector

Hey @Seth Johnson, I have thought about this with this bottle (and some others that have a very black/dark bottle)....I think it's a 'guy thing' because I too want to know. But when I couldn't come up with a suitable solution I came to the conclusion that once nothing comes out; then I'm out of juice 😂 and time to buy a new one 🤩As a thought, I wouldn't put my perfume in the fridge. I've been told by guys in the industry that extreme anything (heat or cold) will affect the molecules and therefore the fragrance...hope that helps??

I don't like the opening of this one. It got that weird body odor vibe found in many Chanel fragrances or maybe it's a French perfume thing. I just don't get it why you intentionally would make a fragrance ugly smelling in that way.

On the other hand, green Irish, eventhough it doesn’t have the big projection of aventus, it feels more professional and feels more like a higher professional fragrance that is meant to use with suits.
