    people should stop giving this comment a thumbs-down so much... i gave it a thumbs-up... i'll have to see what he is talking about, apparently at one minute and twenty three seconds.. however, even though he alerts everyone to my alleged mistake, he is only complimenting me on my ability to mask said mistake and incorporate it into the tune, like the pros do he says... i appreciate the acknowledgment

    I love how Ian hits the bag and tunes the middle tenor drone...and stomps his foot, the way a pipe major would, and just kicks ass....you don't see that alot in these yourtube videos, and Ian, it REALLY helps a beginning piper ....you are awesome, and your piping is just brilliant....chris

    OK, i went back and watched my video again. The E note you alert me to is NOT a mistake but entirely intentional. It's how I play the tune. Think of it this way: part 3 has C-shakes with arpeggios on E & F using LowA, then has D-shakes with similar movement using F & hG. It makes perfect sense, for me, to play part 4's C-shakes segment with arpeggios on hA-hG-E not F. F is already part of the hA-hG-F movement in the D-shakes area. I think the way i play it sound more logical and musical.

      You cant play wrong notes a solo piper as long as you can play the mistake with confides 😂😂

    As a new 58 year old piper, I really appreciate the tunes you've posted. Mason's apron is a bit past my skill set at this point, but I am working on "Wife of the Old MIll Dust." Thanks for doing such a great job on that tune too.

    0:25 was not a flub but a slight pause, as was the one at 0:58. they're intentional to keep the music sounding less linear feeling. thanks for the thoughtful commentary however.

    Hi I just want to say excellent interpretation of this tune. very enjoyable to listen to. one piece of advice though. When u make a mistake try not to show it by the expression on your face. If u did that in competition then the judges would totally annihilate u. other than that well played. hope to hear more of you in the future

    Hi , om absolutly stunned About The sound of bagpipes , but can someone explain me how à bagpipe works sometimes you saw him stop blowing air in it but there was still that sound ( sorry for my stupid question ) and btw very Nice perform mate keep it up

    • @Wafaloo
      @Wafaloo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The air in the bag keeps the sound going, but the air is passing through the drones and the reed so you have to keep blowing into the bag to keep it full. And you have to maintain a steady pressure.

      Ninja Pwease it's called a Pele. To try to make it simple, you play G gracenote on D, followed by an E gracenote on D, and then a D strike. Getting it up to speed takes time. Cheers

    • @NoName-ld9mh
      @NoName-ld9mh 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are different variations to practically every piping tune. this is the version that I and many other people who play the pipes have been taught. For all you know the "original" you claim to know could be the one that isn't the original. Even if this isn't the original it isn't disrespectful. unless you have the very first copy that was written and I highly doubt you do you can't and don't ha e the right to say this isn't the "original". I find you saying that disrespectful.

    • @Scottishandrewchannel
      @Scottishandrewchannel 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      not sure why Masons would find a highly skilled and articulate craftsman playing pipes so beautifully would be anything other than overjoyed at the amount of enlightened impro put into a basic 32 bar reel - and by the bagpipes ?

    • @Scottishandrewchannel
      @Scottishandrewchannel 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      my own live version on fiddle is very fast but not that Masonic as it doesn't have the extra impro stuff
