After checking out Jason's photography and knowing his skate sensibilities, I'd love to see him produce/direct a skate video. I bet he could put together something really rad in a way other people wouldn't be able to.
@@fogpumasIn a way, but Jason's said that video opened the door into photography for him. Now he's been doing it for 30 years (and obviously more film) and skateboarding has had 30 years of innovation since then. I'd love to see what it looks like now.
Forget a Skate Video. Dude could make an actual Hollywood Movie about Skating...and has the juice to not only get the Actors for it, but also the Skaters. Do some real skate history right.
Jason was talking about older guys just being able to do it, Rick McCrank is a dude that no one is talking about right now, but holy crap Rick is freaking killing it right now.
Jason Lee episodes are the best… he brings a super great energy that makes it just so entertaining and enjoyable to watch and listen…. Also good to see Pastras on there.
It's so crazy the effect skateboarding has on us. Once you are in it's a wrap. Even when he was big in Hollywood he was still watching skate videos. Jay Lee is the man.
Jason Lee is a very rare and special person. Love the episodes he's been in. Could have never imagined he'd just be chillin, open to whatever and chatting like this. Super great !
Great episode guys. Born in 83, almost 40 now. Every skater in that room is relevant to me and my skateboarding timeline. I knew of Pastras and Lee as a little kid, then Jeron and Chris as a teenager and Kelly in my twenties. You are all blessed to have experienced professional skateboarding and each one of you has inspired millions, literally. Thanks for your second hand stoke all these years.
I could watch these guys talk about and review their favorite tricks all day long. Back when the Nine Club used to ask "who would you like to see on the show", my number 1 answer was always Jason Lee. Amazing episode ❤
Jason is right, It doesn't feel like an interview or anything like that, even for the viewer, it's just a conversation about skateboarding among skateboarders 🙌 easily one of my favorite episodes. Love you guys ❤
I listened to the podcast and HAD to come and watch Best Kickflip of All Time section. I'm old, I know all the clips, watching you guys go off is the best most validating thing ever!! Skate rats for LIFE!!!
Thank you so much for clearing up the back board/ front board slide confusion for me! I’ve been skating since I was 12 and I just turned 48 and have always thought the terminology was weird. But hearing that it’s always the way you’re facing the object when you approach it, it makes total sense now. Finally!!!!
Maybe it’s just being a teen watching Jason but to this day when I see him skate I truly think he has the best steez in the history of skating. Can’t put into words it just is.
Jason Lee was like Gonz on Vert. So natural to it and so flowing. It was beautiful in the Blind video to see a street skater rip so hard on a vert ramp like that.
I love that Dune knew the little tidbit about Hosoi's Echo Park house once belonging to WC Fields. It speaks to how rad Stereo was, and how its whole aesthetic went way beyond skateboarding and incorporated an obvious knowledge of jazz, art, literature, etc.
I love the comments on the feeling of skating in 40ies and 50ies.. To drop in a bowl when you know your family is dependent.on your sallery at your job makes the stakes sooo high and the rush when you do it soo great. No adrenaline showers like that in my teens.
Jason Lee is the reason I fell in love with skating. A neighbor got a hold of his video part somehow and I was just trying with skating until I saw him skate and was like holy shit, I want to do that. Building ramps out of old plywood and cinder blocks on a road, taking whatever we could find lying around the neighborhood. I would love to meet him someday.
This vid makes me want to go skate again. Being 47, I remember blind, blue, and Stereo. Jason Lee was always one of my favorite skaters. I have his burger king board still stored even though it is broken. It is great seeing him and Dune together. Thank you for making this happen. 🍻
Jason getting stoked on his pre berries park footy is how every skater should at the least feel about their own footage. I know skaters are supposed to non Chalant about themselves but fuck it man, skating is incredible and should be proud of your own work
I’m only 32 but no J Lee! we dont get annoyed hearing ya’ll reminisce. fun fact: my friends mom owns the “french place” they are talking about in los feliz. right in the very beginning
The fast and poppy flick that they're all talking about in the kickflip conversation comes from riding skinny boards. That's an art that got lost to this ultra wide board trend. J Lee himself even says he really came into himself with the flow and the pow during the first Stereo video days. That fast flick and pow comes naturally with skinnier boards.
This episode was so amazing and inspiring (JLee is so cool) that I just bought the Crob Twin Paddle and for the 1st time in 17 years I will step back onto board and start skating again. At 46 I'm more stoked than ever. Thank you for this Nine Club!
There’s nothing wrong with skating as a hobby. I lost it years ago. Now my daughter is sort of into it. Now it’s fun just to carve the streets and do a simple flip trick every now and then
Would love to see Jason Lee back a third time. He has a very infectious and childlike enthusiasm for skateboarding. It's like listening to your old school friends talk about it.
Yup, started skating in ‘85 and watched a dubbed copy of The Bones Brigade Video Show & Future Primitive on VHS. Lance skating in the beginning was magic for sure!
My dad had a 10 ft tall 16 ft wide Vert ramp in our backyard when I was born. Never got to ride it obviously but the stories we heard our whole lives from having a Skate Rat dad were legendary.
Man, nerding out on skateboarding is the best. I over this episode, especially Jason’s enthusiasm. I’m glad you mentioned Kalis for the 3 flip because his 3 flip over the garbage can in Heavy Metal (opening montage) is one of the best ever done. Jason’s 3 flip over the sand gap is a classic/ favorite. And Jeremy Wray over the picnic table-so good! Oh and Carroll’s up the 3 stair the hard way (stairs behind him). Great episode fellas!🤘
This is really cool to see. I grew up skating Cheap Skates and remember seeing Pastras with Barker and hearing people say things about the street skaters. I didn't pay much attention. Only skating both the mini ramp and the Vert ramp. Which both were large! The mini was 6ft tall with a spine and the vert ramp was 12ft tall with 2ft of vert! Best vert ramp ever!! And Dan Tag along with Vallely used to kill the vert ramp!! Vallely with his ollie to fakies and Snake Man written on his grip tape! It was legit too! LOL!!
@@Unusualsuspect24 To be fair, he didn't say they had a good relationship. Other than that, I'm with you 100%. I could barely watch this, just like I can barely stand to be in the room when family is talking on top of each other at a holiday dinner.
@@Unusualsuspect24 I see what ur sayin but I also think that if ur friends with someone for 30 years u kinda find ur lane. maybe ur the talkative one, or the jokester, or the smart silent one, or the mastermind. Gonz's kickflip over the planter in the Real video is my all time favorite. Like Dune said....the way he flicks is so unique. But it's also funny because his switch flips flick like everybody elses 🤷♂️

Part of the appreciation to. It was hard to see it back then I can't imagine before that. Really love these duel guest episodes! Reynolds and Beagle would be so sick!
That would be amazing!
that would be to good to be honest
Or beagle and shane heyl
Just have beagle keep coming back 😅
Yoooo that would be such a good one!
After checking out Jason's photography and knowing his skate sensibilities, I'd love to see him produce/direct a skate video. I bet he could put together something really rad in a way other people wouldn't be able to.
Wasn’t that basically the first Stereo video?

Couldn’t agree more! My long time favourite skater. Best style and blows my mind every time I see him skate.
Rick fkn ripps !!
BRO YES! lol every time I see my rank lately he's killing it! So good!
Roger is on point with the clips and photos. Makes the show so much better seeing what you’re talking about during the conversation.
Jason Lee episodes are the best… he brings a super great energy that makes it just so entertaining and enjoyable to watch and listen…. Also good to see Pastras on there.

SKATERS SUPPORTING SKATERS ❤️
You already know! Thank you so much for the support!!!
Jason Lee making skating fun again. I got a board recently it's been 19yrs. He's the best guest ever
Love these duo episodes! Haslam and Daewon would be a dream, but we gotta get that Daewon episode first
Great show, still hope one day to see Gonz, Natas, Blender on.
For some reason I don't think they will.
Natas for sure

I can listen to these two legends tell stories for days. So rad.
I haven't laughed so uncontrollably, since the last time Jay Lee was on. Can not wait for the Reese G animations. Unlimited.

hearing jason lee yell COME ON melts my heart, Syndrome is the greatest villian
Maybe it’s just being a teen watching Jason but to this day when I see him skate I truly think he has the best steez in the history of skating. Can’t put into words it just is.
First saw him skate in 86? Out front at the big vert championship Anaheim. 360 flips. Crazy good special.
This is the best one yet. Nerding out hard af.
Jason Lee might be my favorite human, could listen to him talk for ever.
My buddy got that Dune board, brought it over to my house, just he deck, and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
I don't think I ever continuously giggled through an entire 2.5 hr episode of anything. Jason and Dune, I LOVE you guys! LEGENDS ❤🙌

what can I say? This was the greatest!!!! Next, get Gonz and Natas on together
That would be fkn epic. The stories!!
Seriously made my day watching Jason Lee getting stoked on his footage, the love is real :)
Poor Roj is working overtime on this episode. Excellent stuff!
The absolute best part of this was everyone getting psyched on the beat kickflips
Could listen to Jason talk all day, such a great episode
He should do his own podcast
Super cool see you in two guys from my era, I grew up watching these guys in the 90s and early 2000 👍
We're literally watching street skateboarding's history unfold on Nine Club!
Man the OG skaters are such good storytellers

This was great. Hope you get both of them back again. We need more Chris and Jason.

So rad to see J Lee, legend.. I think Tommy Guerrero might be the key to getting Gonz and Natas on..
This and Jason Lee’s episode are the best hands down!!
I love all the geeked out references and recalling all these scenes from memory. Amazing
I think these two guests are my fav duo. Jason Lee's best kickflip discussion made me so happy.
the best episode ever with Jason Lee! Keep going! So many memories thank you guys!!!
Honestly it’s so cool to watch these legends have the same discussions I have with my skate buddies.
Man to be a fly on the wall for this one. Be so fucken awesome to be able to just sit in the back and listen. This is one for the books!
you are the fly, man
I love how Jason doesn’t brag about ever being the man. He’s humble but in a jokey way.
Jason Lee is highly entertaining!

love these guys! Jason just has the best energy. such a cool dude.
I know nothing about skating. For me, it was just nice seeing Jason on a podcast again. Love seeing the guy.
My favorite Nine Club so far... best vibes🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another dynamic duo! Love these
Jeremy Klein and Willy Santos? Or Tom Green.
re: 360 flips: In Mississippi and Louisiana they called them "alligators" or "gators" in the early 90s. Wondering if anyone else ever heard that!
This is a skateboarder leaving this comment. This video inspires me. A true representation of everything that is good. True happiness. One love.
OMG so good. I sure hope they come back again!
Jason what an OG!
Best treat in the basket today
excited for this one

This is one of my favorite episodes ever. So much fun and great conversations.
DAYUM! Kelly really hadn't seen the 84 original Powell video of Street Lance!!??!! So cool he got to do it with The Duo! Thassasupacray
yea, that was great.. the look on Dune's face while the video rolled... (his eyes kept darting back to the video enjoying the pool sesh)
Bam's kickflip ender in One Step Beyond is a spectacular example of the trick and probably my favorite kickflip of all time.

Please get JASON DILL on the show again. Solo or maybe with AVE? 🙌
PLEASE get ave and dill PLEASE
Forrest edwards !!!
That's what I'm talking about ❤❤💯💯💯
I'm not a fan of Forrest Edwards he's kinda ignorant
