I recently got a sofa and it needed to be reupholstered. I took my own sweet time, logged on to your channel (love it) and reupholstered it (my very first time), I bought good expensive fabric and it now much new sofa looks amazing. It looks professional and people love it. I'm hooked!
Yeeeeesssss!!!! So good to hear! Well done! It is addicting when you get great results at a fraction of the cost of paying someone else to do it. Thank you for commenting.
The air compressor and staple gun was the best decision when I used drop cloth to cover my sectional. I did not tear off the fabric because I wanted to keep it intact in case my vision did not come out the way I had hoped but I am please with how it did come out, B work for sure but I am super proud of it and what I can do. I tried to make my seat cushions one like one of your videos it's not even close but I am not confident in sewing zippers and getting one cohesive cushion cover so I tuck every time. It works for me though. Thanks for this channel it gave me some confidence.
I’m so glad to hear this!!! I bet if you were to try the cushions again you could get the zipper thing down! Thank you for commenting.
@@MimzyandCompany I plan to try I’m new to sewing and upholstery the compressor was a game changer for sure
I especially like what you said about being happy with B- work. I wasn't completely thrilled with my first finished pieces, but even though it wasn't perfect, It was still way better than what it was before I did it over. So ... definitely worth the effort.
I love your final tip. It's the truth and a good motto for a lot of projects. I ran across your channel when you posted about using a curtain rail from Ikea or something. I watched and kept it in the back of my mind for a long time. It gave me courage to create a solution for window coverings on a large sliding door. I really appreciate your videos.
Thank you so much Anne! So glad you’re here!
Smart, sensible advice. Learning & accomplishing vs. expecting perfection. Thanks, Mimzy!
Thank you🙏🏻
You could buy a piece of furniture and make it a learning piece. If you mess it up, indo it and try a different way. Just keep working on it.
Yes!!!!
Thank you. I'm gonna try.
This was super inspirational! I’m definitely going to recover this old chaise lounge that was given to me.. I’m just going to take my time & have fun. Love this channel & im so looking forward to this new adventure!! 🤩
I'm so happy to hear this Josephine! You're gonna be hooked.
Thank you for the video.
Thank you so much I am a beginner and I have chosen a small sitting bench that would go at the end of your bed. I watched the video on fabrics - awesome. Where would I find vintage looking floral fabric? Thank you.
good question! I'm always looking for good vintage looking floral fabric! DecoratorsBest.com is a good source for floral...a little pricey, but everything is these days.
great video Mimzy!!!
Thanks Cara! You're sweet. I'm trying to do more talking head videos so my production time will be less.😀
Love your video! I have a large leather ottoman that I pickup free. I’d like to cover the leather with material. What is the best way to do this? The leather is stapled or nailed and has tacks at edges.
The best way is to remove the leather and replace it with fabric. Leather is too slippery to cover over.
Love this thank you.
thank you.
There wasn’t a video where you were pointing 😊
I'm still editing the video. Sorry! check back soon! Thank you for commenting!
Such a disorganized presentation, hard to listen too.
Thank you for those kind words.
