I've watched this at least 5 times now and it gets better everytime. Mo's level of energy at the end is amazing.
Lol same
About to go for my daily training run.
This definitely gets me that feeling is runners chase.
This is one of the best track videos I've ever seen.
Crazy as this has virtually no views for being the greatest 5000 meter race/time trial in American history. What this video doesn’t say is that they put 3 guys in the top 10 US ALL TIME. No other 5k has had that level of Performance from that many US guys, let alone a 5k that was set up in a month and was pushed by pure grit. This is insane.

Watched this 4 years ago and still holds up as some next level production!
The footage of Woody after the race perfectly shows how it feels to PR. Like the music is perfect and I don’t know why
I've never seen a runner so hyped for their boys like Mo Ahmed. Its one thing to win all these races and be one of the best distance runners in the world. Its another to want the same thing and be hype for your boys
He paced 4600m insane
This is a hidden gem... wow
mo ahmed has the vibes at the end tho he has got the energy
I watch this before every tough workout for motivation
So well done. Felt like I was there. Inspiring filmmaking.
how does this only have 4.4K views!? i was basically crying by the end of it.
agreed; runnerspace could never
And at this time, only 49 comments?!?
me too
Because Nike is a bully.
Share it to the world! More races and coverage like this is coming. Glad you liked it!
We need more track events like this. So up close and personal. You can feel the energy.
Mo hyping up Woody is the friend we all need
The best track video I've ever seen.
Sooo good! Pumped up now
This is seriously one of the best running videos ever made.
Beautiful. Artistry capturing artistry. Thanks for sharing.
I get nervous for them lol
my heart was really beating
Just want to say this is AMAZING content. Seriously keep up with these kind of things, I absolutely love it. Feel like the running community is behind other sports when it comes to media content but this channel and these videos are getting the community up to speed. Incredible editing, story telling, well put together, Im impressed. I love it, thank you very very much!
Thanks Andrew! Glad you're enjoying it. We'll keep at it!
This video slaps. Definitely underrated and under-viewed for how awesome the production quality and the content is!
What a video & what a story! Amazing job by the Nike BTC guys to host this & big shoutout to Nike for making it happen. That crowd was unreal! It must be electrifying feeling that energy alongside the track.
The race was put on by Portland Track and Tracklandia....a small crew that pulled this off in less than a month. We did it to benefit the athletes and happened to get it done at Nike under the radar.
2:43 dude thats so trippy. like looking at this in the future, and owning a pair, i can recognize those as Nike Air Zoom Victory prototypes. Dude, they’re missing the air pods in the shoe, but i know they’re the same shoe because of the upper, and the traction pattern. that’s so cool.
How are there so few views? This is an actual quality film!
AMAZING athletes!!!!!! Woohoo!!! Thank you for recording this historic event.
This is dope
Great job foks. Truly enjoyed this video! Thanks!
This was very well done! Little late to watching, but the performance, the energy, the story telling and the editing is outstanding!
This video needs more views
We need more vids like this, that was awesome
Olympic record is 12:57. U.S got some potential for this years Olympics
The olympic record is 12:37
@@svend-emilpoulsen8017 I think you may be confusing World and Olympic Records
Yeah the OR is 12:57, WR is 12:37. Often Olympic Races are more tactical and slow at the beginning since no one has enough courage to really push the pace. These three guys will be racing against guys who ran 12:40s, so they definitely have good competition but we'll have to see how it goes in Tokyo next year.
Yh nah 12:57 means nothing the guys from Africa will have ran 12:40s and it’s a lot more tactical
@@webbymastergaming true but no one has broken 12:40 since Haile Gebrselassie in 1998 and Kenensia bekele 12:37 in 2004.
I don't count Cheptegei’s 12:35 as offcial because he was being helping with computer wavelights pacing system in the track. It's a cheat code
Great video!
Iv got goosebumps after watching this!!! Awesome race!
Amazing vid
Good video, congrats to the guys who ran!
Absolutely insane.. amazing video
Mo paced thru 4600m??
Well done of the video. COngrats to everyone.
Biggest takeaway is that runners do their best when they feel their worst
perfect video

How this only got 39k views when I watch it every week
A real life Rocky moment.
I hope woody had a considerable amount of beers after this
this is so underrated
Hearing Centrowitz talking about how painful the 5K is fuckin relatable
You know it's a good video when it has (1) dislikes 😎
It has 1

best 5k on American soil.
12:45 I wouldn't have been surprised if Mo literally just body-slammed Kincaid out of excitement lol.
@Tracklandia do you know the violin tune that's played when they start the race? I looked at the linked song used in the description but it wasn't that one
Cold String by Tiny Music.
@@rjmcn4 do you know the music they use during the interviews
Does anyone know anything about those 2-3 other guys running in a group behind them? I guess they are part of the BTC Elite team but what times were they trying to hit and for what?
The BTC Elite guys were there to fill out the field and make sure that there were more than enough athletes in the race to have the times count. Official rules state that 5 athletes must start, it does not matter how many finish. There were 8 athletes total starting the race. The BTC Elite guys (Julian Heninger, Liam Meirow and Jeremy Freed) ran 14:49, 14:50 and 15:11. Their accounts of running through the sound tunnel of trees on one side and screaming fans on the other are electrifying.
@@Tracklandia Oh thanks for the reply that makes more sense! Did any of the BTC elite guys PR?
I am just realizing that there should be another Portland 5000 with other people too.
We've got you, Braik
hi jeff merill! watchin from sweden!
Hello Alexander. Bundle up, it's cold outside.
@@Tracklandia u bet jeff! and rainy! but i have a warm blanket here!
Can someone explain why they "needed" a track rail? Is that the actual circumference of the track that is recorded as the "official" distance?
This video kinda got me emotional lol
I briefly mistook Ciarán O'Lionaird for Billy Crudup.
This comment is kind of a long shot, but I’ll try. I remember just after this happened there was a photographer selling a print of all three with the board following the race. I have been trying to search Twitter and the web for the info, but with no luck. Any help or info you could provide would be incredible.
That was the talented Howard Lao who captured that beautiful image. You can reach out to him here: www.howlaophotography.com/. I bet he would create a print for you.
@@Tracklandia this is just incredible, thank you so much for this!!
Who else really wants to see the footage of woody passing Lopez?
7th time watching this idk why
WTF, why is this like a year late
How can I watch the full race without paying for it.
Because this is amazing and I want to watch the full race now because of it.
Watch emma abrahamson's video i dont think theres full race footage or is there?
Dude Centro does not stop talking
I believe that is what Mo was talking about
Amazing track!@#!@#@!!@#
I'm not crying you're crying
A lifetime from the world record. Not bad though for Americans.
at 11:32. the oldie who is talkin. he says: "they are snowballin and they are on it". well given nikes shady past (read matt harts "win at all costs") i am assumin he means they are doped to the gills. anyone disagree? or agree to disagree?
Never heard of the snowball effect before? See 18:50.
This host looks scarily like a young Werner Herzog
Just think, Centro on Salazars hot sauce.
