Rank Fiends/Boosters used Broodmother, Visage, Meepo, Arc Warden and Lone Druid cause they were like selfish heroes. You can just play on your own, farm your items, push towers while your team 4v5s every teamfight then the enemy realizes they are down to their tier 4 towers and they got a bear/spider/clone/rat/gargoyle just chipping away at the throne and game is over. It was insane back then, still great now (on low ranks mostly, where you are surrounded by special people)
In addition to the other comments about solutions to mana problems, you can switch your treads to intelligence before casting spells (increasing your max mana) to use less of your overall manapool, then switch back to your hero's primary attribute after casting to get the damage bonus back. I don't know if this has been commented before on other videos, but this is referred to as "tread switching" and is good to do on all heroes, not just broodmother. You can also switch to strength if you're low on HP and running away from enemies, and the extra health it gives you is sometimes the difference between surviving or dying. Well played and keep it up!
Brood is one of these heroes that changes a standard game simply by being there. She can be really powerful if she dominates the lane and the rest of her team plays around her properly, with all the space she creates, but if the team is ignorant then even dominating lane performances will not amount to much. I used to play a lot of Brood years ago, these days I do not touch her unless I am in a full team and know people have a clue about what to do in a Brood game.
Dude I really love your vids, your commentary, your friends, your insights, your funny story, its like watching a podcast but while watching Dota too (pun intended) Im still on the Axe video, catching up soon! but yeah man, welcome to Dota! hope your journey is filled with fun and joy!
General tip, go soul ring on heroes that have enough hp for it but small mana pools. I hear you say "I should have gone arcane" when you first ran out of mana, but arcane does not help with your horrendous mana pool. Soul ring affectively increases your mana pool virtually by permitting a low cooldown health to mana exchange that affectively increases your mana pool during the short duration you have its active. Arcane boots does the same for you, but at a lower cooldown and your hero will build orchid anyways so the passive mana regen is not worth exchanging stats and attack speed from treads for an arcane boots
Aside from the control groups for microing spiderlings and soul ring as a source of mana, a third tip that nobody has mentioned yet is that certain summons in Dota are worth a lot of gold. Throwing an army of spiderlings at an enemy hero that can waveclear them is a pretty hefty amount of gold you are feeding them. This is in contrast to League where there are rarely any summons that are worth that much. This is because many summons in Dota are FAR more spammable than in League and the gold bounty for killing them is a way to balance them. Also, you kinda see the point of Broodmother here. She can control the map like no other, but she doesn't have very much to offer in a teamfight compared to other traditional carries. The two biggest perks of Broodmother is that she can generate an army of summons that not every champion can necessarily deal with and that she is incredibly slippery and hard to stop when she is split pushing.
Very good gameplay for a first time broodmother. Tips for a micro based hero: If you hold alt or control and then press a number key, you can assign the units you selected to that number key. For example, you can have your main hero on 1, summons on 2, and both on 3 or whatever. That way, you can quick select without having to drag your mouse. Also if you double click on a controlled summon you can select all of them on screen at once. And how dare you insult broodmother's looks. She's a hard working single mother of billions.
very stronk hero with amazing kit, some people use to spam this hero to get to higher rank and boosting, even with all the nerf, still pretty strong

soul ring also good with brood, u sacrifice some health to gain temporary mana, but with your regen from innate it's doable
i like your vids man, keep it going 👍
Ah, the hubris. 12:13 15:37
You should have gone soul ring first so you can spam ult
You have infinite amount of spiderlings so always use ult à
you could switch your map to the other side like in League
Better than Elisse
