It’s amazing that for something so cheap it can survive hell better than some traxxas cars I’ve seen the only downside is the wltoys cars collect dirt like crazy

My brother bought one of these but the B version and he loves it. The B version of this truck is so much easier to control than than the other B versions especially when you put some thicker oil in the shocks. I have the A979-b version and it’s a beast but I killed the diffs in 2 weeks. Lol
the gears on all of them are trash they need metal upgrades

Did u know that the WLToys remote will bind automatically to any of the WLToys rigs, so u can take one controller n all ur rigs n it will work with them, just FYI

I bought a B version and nailed it flat out against a curb. Bent the driveshaft and busted a wheel seat, as well as shattering the plastic rims. converted to all metal parts and it works lots better.
Wow! That little RC is fun durable and managed to survive your severe bashing! For the price it really is a good little truck!
Hi Kevin, great video. I just got a A959B two weeks ago. Great little car to start in the RC world. As you mentioned, it has a lot of power and you have to be pretty careful in order not to crash it at high speed when the road is not perfect. Would you recommend me to get the A969 as a second car for a bit more off road than the A959B? Thanks in advance for you opinion and best regards from Argentina.
Got mine for few das now - it's just a happy little powerdog 😁To elliminate the "little downside" of the front, just bend/kink the body back at the front-edge for like 20° - won't pop over the bumper anymore🙃

I always understood that smaller RC's don't break as often since they aren't heavy enough to break anything if/when they impact. They're pretty good too being small, you can run them in the house and chase the cat...or dog.

Interesting car with not a lot of reviews out for yet (and nothing like the durability testing you do). Looks well priced for something that has a large motor and apparently metal gears.

I had a wl toys a959 for 2 years and i used it about 3 times a week, the motor did get tired because its a brushed motor only cost £8.00 to replace. The only thing that broke was a stripped the spur gear, I was giving it a kicking every time I used it (it got most of its miles at the skatepark). It gave me a really good idea if I would like to get into the hobby. It also showed me all the components in an RC car and how to do maintenance like adding diff oil, greasing the diffs and tuning shocks! now I saved up the money for a second-hand E Revo 2.0 with upgrades I have never looked back, yes I broke a couple parts on the car but the nature of the hobby.
All RCs break, most of mine do every time i take them out

You have also taught me ALLOT about how to look after an rc and shown me all the do’s and dont’s about that I need to know. And have inspired me to get an expensive rc car as well!

I run my a959 on an rc car track with 3 foot tall jumps and I know kev said you don't need to upgrade anything, but if you want to run it on a track I would suggest you buy some better shocks and if you want to some new tires I would also suggest that too.

Pretty much the same as the 12428. Then again i guess you can say the a959 a969 a979 are pretty must the same as well and there is separate reviews for them.
Nice. They are really good. Just wach out for water. My daughter burn her esc combo on a small puddle. Is a cheap replacement but still, cut the fun short.

i just built an a959 full metal upgrade and the total cost ends up around $300.00 including the donor car.
well worth it tho if you enjoy the wltoys brand. just be sure to upgrade the wheels as well for a bit more ground clearance.
These things are really nice! One NECCESITY is to get an aluminum shock tower, cause they are fragile, mines broke easily

My dad bought 2, one for me one for him. First one lasted about a week, second one about 3 weeks. banggood didn't want to know.

Love your vids I have a Traxxas slash2wd and it goes to reverse then the wheels lock up when not going on reverse any idea what wrong
BigfishTV there could be something wrong with your motor, mess with the speed trim on it if you can, sometimes that makes it do that, or it could be bearings or gears in the transmission.
Need new gears one might be broken
Matthew G like it slows down really fastens wheels stop fast they spin in opposite directions when I spin them but when u turn both the same direction they won’t move unless pulling the trigger
BigfishTV that also might be the diff you can open it up and check the gears in there, also open the transmission that could have broken gears too
@@bigfishtv9899 is there adjustments on the pinion gear? Maybe gear mesh is too tight? The mesh has to be right or it will cause binding which puts enormous strain on the motor. Check your pinion/spur gear mesh bro 👍

have you tried a 3s lipo on that? the speed must be ridiculous! the esc is infact capable of it i have one of those esc receiver and it handled 3s just fine on my homemade rc boat.

Can you put 1500mah lipo battery in there or is it gonna ower heat then?
I ones made my own rccar out of al kind of parts I found. I couldn't put the gas throtle above around a quarter since it then would get faster to fast and almost always become uncontrollable and drifting/ cycloning all the time.

Essentially the A959, A969 and A979 are the same for some variation in the wheels and body. Only the A949 has a narrower width and 55mm wheels, but same wheelbase.
A version uses a 390 motor
B version uses a 540 motor
Walked into a hobby shop for the first time today, asked the guy if he's seen Kevin Talbot's videos....he said yes. I'm like alright that's what I want, gave him my price range, he said follow me, lol. Sorry I didn't order online brother, wanted to support my local hobby shop so they don't go under. I will order one from you eventually though, no worries.
