A whirlwind of a performance! A truly sweeping interpretation! The climax of the middle section (from 5:52) and the ensuing charge of the light brigade (6:54) are absolutely breath-taking.
We can all learn something from this. Played the wrong first note on his RH, had to pick his nose in the middle 😂, and still soldiered through like a champ.
An extraordinary rendition. Although Stephen Hough seems to have difficulty with achieving what he wants with the left hand triplets, he succeeds brilliantly. He really brings out Liszt's structural and melodic genius.

This is a gorgeous and powerful perfomance but, still, I'm very surprised (for a great pianist like he is) that he missed the very first chord of the piece Must have been quite disturbing for him
There’s a video of Argerich on TH-cam from 1977 playing this piece. The sound quality isn’t great. There is some background noise. But her playing is superb. She nails it……
Hough is amazing. I saw him perform Rach 3 but I really wish I could see him perform Liszt. Bravo 👏🏻
Powerful performance by Hough. Brilliant!

Stephen Hough🌺
WOW! Brilliant playing and what a memory!
Playing from memory is standard these days. Also, this piece is not overly complex to memorize. Great playing by Hough.

강약의 연주가 돋보입니다. 완벽한 연주 너무 좋았습니다. ^^
Astonishing! Bravo, Maestro Hough. Thank you, Maestro Liszt.
Schön!
This is fucking epic
Terrific!
