To be honest, I'm not at all a fan of this skip that you did. A lot of things wrong with it so I'll go in detail: The least of my worries is the grind. Sure, I personally think it's absolutely unnecessary and a rather cheap way to overcome the challenges of the game, spending a long time in order to become way overtuned. That's especially true because you were plenty strong already. Your damage output was insane before the grind so I didn't see the need for it at all. But that's a matter of style. In any case, it's really nothing we'd need to see. What is really not a matter of style, however, is that you're essentially playing an entirely different character now. Think about it: Different school of magic, different spells, different staff, different stats, different armor, different rings. The only thing you kept from the previous episodes is the sword. But since you hardly use that anymore, that's debatable. For all I care, you could've just as well loaded up a different safe file. Although not content wise, this feels like I skipped like 5 episodes. Another thing is the exploration bit. Quite a few really important discoveries happened off screen here. Even a potentially relevant NPC was completely skipped over. This hasn't been an issue since your DS1 videos but skipping this sort of stuff kinda sucks. Now, I agree it wouldn't have made for the most exciting content ever and may have felt kinda disjointed from the rest. But then again, you kept in like 10 minutes of elevator riding during your attempt on the twin princes so I don't think that's an argument at all. Probably the worst thing about this stuff is the bit about researching stuff. Part of the fun in watching these videos is witnessing the discovery and you finding your own way through this game. Now, if you're just going to research important item locations, that really hamstrings o lot of that. Especially since you really didn't need that bit of extra healing. It's nice, sure but was that really that necessary? And how do I know the rest of it, like discovering just the ring and npc you need for your build, wasn't researched as well? Why stop at only 60 intelligence? Did you even know about soft caps beforehand? Is that just intuition? Did you really randomly decide to read the Dusk Crown's description and discover its effects all on your own? Don't get me wrong, it's your playthrough and therefore your decision. These questions and their answers really don't matter in the end. Play the game however it suits you. I'm just staying that's not what I'm watching these videos for. And the result of all that is you now running around one-shotting everything. I mean, good for you that you're having an easy time now. But that's not very exciting, especially if we didn't get to see a huge part of the journey to get there. Like I said, you may as well have just loaded up a pre made, min maxed save file. Overall, really disappointed with this turn of events. But let's see what the future holds. Since you've pretty much got it all now, I'm sure there's no room left for something like this to repeat.
I apologize for the skip. As I was farming and going back to old areas, I didn’t want to fill any episode with content of me exploring places we have already seen. It didn’t feel like it would be exciting to see the same thing over and over again. This really was just me trying to beef up my character. I’ll still have challenges, I’m just a lot more further along than I was in the previous episode. While I was running around farming, I thought back to the advice you gave me in the previous 2 games about soft caps for attributes. I remember my caps really easing up around 60 in Dark Souls 2 so I wanted to do the same here. I also remembered your advice about looking at the attributes for the armor to help with elemental defenses and that sort of thing. And I know if you read the descriptions for rings it will show you more information about what the ring can do, so I thought the same thing for armor, specifically the armor pieces that don’t exactly have a matching set. Since they’re unique pieces, I figured they would have unique attributes as well (I ended up being right). I only looked up what the description meant because I wanted a more accurate detail. Once again, I apologize for the large gap, you won’t see a big jump like this again.
Damn, I kinda forgot how much info I've shared already. Just goes to show how long these series have been. It's alright though, it's not as big a deal as I probably made it sound. Just shared my thoughts so don't worry about it too much. Not sure I've told you this before, but the dusk set has been around since the first game. It belonged to princess dusk, a character relevant to the dlc of that game. Damn shame you missed out on that one.
It’s all good, I get it! I really got to get around to the DS1 DLC soon. I feel like that’s a big gap in everything. Also, just so you know, I have a summon coming up only because I thought the summon was part of a specific quest line. Just letting you know now I broke my rule lol
@@gameboydrae8556 tbh i don't mind npc summons at all since they're literally provided by the game. There are people who would complain about those as well but not me. Heads up by the way: once you get to elden ring, you can pretty much use any summon sign you see. I'll get into details once it's time but just know it's not an issue at all there. Even less than in the Souls games

Oh, also don't get me wrong: the video was quite fun in its own right. I'm just ranting about that one aspect.
