She was exposed to the atomic bomb just as she was entering the kindergarten building. There was a bright flash followed by a loud boom that sent glass flying. She suffered injuries to the forehead and her legs. Her parents, worried about her, came to get her and they fled to an air-raid shelter. There were many persons who had suffered burns and other serious wounds in that shelter.
