Funny white diamonds story… when I was like 5, my dad bought my mom white diamonds for Christmas. I specifically remember him being so excited about it while we were wrapping presents with my older siblings. I was intrigued by this fancy lady perfume so I busted open the box while no one was paying attention and DOUSED myself in this shit. Obviously everyone within a mile radiance noticed the scent. My dad was a good sport and laughed about it but didn’t realize that later that day, my mom immediately smelled me and knew what her Christmas present was 😂 I think that was the birth of scent obsession. My mom still has that bottle 30 years later ❤
Also I agree that it is straight up pungent and not in a good way 😂😂

I recently got and wore it for the first time (after seeing it when I was young and smelling it on others and always loved the scent), the first day I wore it, it was a love for me. I agree it's strong so wouldn't recommend over spraying. It's one of those scent I can just open and sniff to enjoy when I'm not wearing it.
Funny White Diamonds story. I buy my mother a bottle every Christmas. At this point it’s an unspoken tradition. She used to buy my Gram, her mom, a bottle every year. I don’t own any, but I like to smell it for obvious sentimental reasons.

I have learned so much from you. Been in so much pain after chemo yesterday and layered on myself Sol De genero bum bum cream, cheirosa, and the fragrant coconut body oil and Trader Joe's dupes for their cream on my rough heels and l felt so much better smelling like a macaroon....
@I M ...first off, I am really sending you all the healing and loving thoughts! I truly hope the chemo and everything it comes with will be worth it in the end!
Secondly: I have several chronic illnesses and they all come with pain, mobility issues and damage to my body & brain. Perfume/scent is one of the very few things that can elevate my mood. I'm broke AF, being on disability, but two years back I made a deal with myself: every day or week I can't eat, regular food or at all, the money I save with that isn't allowed to go to bills, but has to go to something nice (to balance my life out). Everything goes to books, vintage and fragrances. And lately mostly fragrances because I'm too ill to dress. I soooo get where you're coming from. Smelling like a snack, a sensual flower, or some kind of sexy boss really takes your brain to a happier place, even when that pain is still there.
I'm ecstatic I discovered Middle Eastern perfumes in the beginning of 2022, because they're so affordable (okay, not everything, but a large %). They either have great "Inspired By " fragrances - a different twist to a popular edp - or their own lines and you can usually buy four or five 100ml bottles for the price of just one big designer bottle. If you like gourmand fragrances and Oriental sweet florals you'll find enough to your liking. Of course there's plenty with Oud - unfortunately 95% of Oud perfumes is revolting on me - but you really need to get samples of those first.
Oh, maybe now that your skin is so dry (or even drier) from the chemo you could give Attar oils a try? An Attar - basically a small bottle with 12 to 15ml of perfume oil - can really be great if you can't take too strong a scent and also want that whole intimate experience. Both from the literal meaning: taking care of your body, as well as projection wise: long lasting, but very close to your body in smell. And they make your skin supple like oils do.
You could mix them with an unscented cream or lotion too if you need extra moisturiser. Some Attars come in these really elaborately decorated little bottles, nice for on a vanity, but you can also get quite simple ones. I have one Attar called Sultan which looks really fancy (and was therefore also 25 bucks for 12ml), but recently got two little square glass 15ml bottles with simply a silver text that were discounted to 7 euro (normally 15 a piece). All from Swiss Arabian - a brand with a lot of oils. Sultan has a glass rod attached to its cap with which you apply the oil. The others, Million and Badar, had roller balls in the bottle. I took out the roller balls so I could apply the oil easier (it still has a relatively small hole).
Last week I was in so much pain. I couldn't eat, sleep, couldn't read or watch TV. And somehow all my fragrances seemed to make me nauseous too - too strong. So I grabbed Million, softly massaged a few drops on each extremity and my torso and before I knew it I'd fallen asleep. I woke up after a few hours with a tiny smile around my mouth and realised that it was the combination of that wonderful, but very cosy smell + focusing on my body in a good way through the whole process of massaging the oil on my skin (even though I could barely move), that had somehow made me relax. It has made me realise I need to make a few of my own oils. I bought a few cheap perfume books on how to make perfumes and perfume oils and now I just need to find the right ingredients (vanilla and Jasmine are my favourite notes, so I'm thinking of making two 1-note oils or perhaps mix these two and add a topnote to create one simple, delicious perfume. I can't wait for the moment when I have the €€ and the energy to create them!

Random: Strolled into Marshall’s today and they had all the KKW perfumes. All The Nudes, Pink Lips, Opal (Pearl?) and lots of Versace, which I passed on.

Refuge Nights was my very first perfume and I have such a love for it. They discontinued it though 😢 The original wasn't the same at all as this new version - it was plummy & sweet but smelled so elevated, never felt like a cheapie to me. Never got to trying the other versions. Love to hear you talking about the brand!

Sheesh! That DKNY perfume bottle looks wicked! I think I just like the bottle, I’ve never really seen anything like that before except maybe kenso flower bottle.
I ordered on Amazon 2 Pacifica sampler sets, very good smells, then did an online perfume haul of island vanilla, blue moon, silver moon, Tahiti gardenia. And need to go back for sunrise moon- which smell amazing. They sent me 2 gifts: a great face serum with vitamin c, Hyaluronic acid & Vitamin E, and under eye vitamin C patches. Totally worth it to try their sampler scent sets and the perfumes are like $20 each!!!

Hi! Can you do a haul and review of the Kandy Bomb fragrances? I believe they’re from overseas but can be found sometimes in discount stores. There’s Kandy bomb sugar fix, pink parfait, vanilla thrilla, and a blue version which I can’t seem to get my hands on. They‘re definitely dupes of Pink Sugar but smell lighter and better to me. Hi Ksenja and community' I have a bottle of Jean Philippe Paris' impression of Angel for Women by Thierry Mugler. I tried this scent after years of it sitting and really like it but I have no idea what I'm smelling. Does anyone know the notes?
