Glad to hear you're feeling better finally, Leigh. Congratulations on the birthday start finish. It is gorgeous - and the bits you pointed out aren't mistakes, they're customisations!
Thank you! Appreciate your lovely message. I have been on a bit of a finishing kick of late. I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed with WIPs and I don't like that some are languishing. So... if I get as many over the line as I can, I will be able to focus some extra time on some of the bigger, older WIPs next year, and also feel better about some new starts. I have some empty bags, after all!
@ - I am trying to do the same thing - I am trying to get my WIPS Finished. I work on one Non Full Coverage until it is finished and I work on one Full Coverage until it is Finished. ❤️🧵❤️
My goodness, that Brick House sampler is a beauty! I wish we had more access to her patterns here. And the last finish for the year will be awesome! Good plan to go through your wips to choose some to finish, I must do that! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, you mentioned that on your latest video. I guess, here in NZ, we are used to ordering from the US for a lot of things, that we don't realise that other countries also have trouble getting some designs. I don't know where my friend got it from... possibly when it first came out? Another reason why I like to pass on my charts when I am done - so others get a chance to stitch some things that can be difficult or costly to get. I will probably pass this on at the next retreat, in Christchurch in March.
Gosh where did the time go, it's silly season. I love your finishing. Band sampler looks great, I think I have that chart in my stash. Can't wait to finish work this year and have the summer break. Be watching more of your Flosstube, especially the previous ones that I have missed. Happy Holidays 🎉
Oh, the silly season is so named for just that reason! Suddenly we have to "catch up" after a whole year or more of not catching up. However, I do want to keep my networks open, and for some of the after-work drinks, it is to let folks know that I am moving on. Gosh, you probably have a bit of flosstube to "catch up on" haha. You could just wait for the Finish Parade before Xmas, and the WIP parade around New Year as that will catch you up with the stitching!
Love your Brick house sampler (especially that gorgeous red house) Keep looking forward to that 'no work computer' holiday - you really need a complete rest after your difficult year.
Yeah, I need it! I will probably take a break for Flosstube for the couple of Sundays I am away. I will pre-record and publish my Finish Parade and maybe my WIP Parade... the latter might be in the new year. And I might do a Vlog style video ... or not. A proper holiday is going to be amazing.
So pleased to hear that you are so much better. I think I might have to go shopping because I adore Brick House Sampler. I was very interested to hear that you sometimes stitch a row rather than complete stitch with variegated. I was going to use a CGT thread on a new project, but it put me off having to do one stitch one at a time, even though I had heard that you can stitch a row then stitch back, after all we can do what we like can’t we. As always fabulous projects. Have a great week and Happy Stitching
I usually use what I call the tweaded approach often - especially subtle variegation. I love the effect. :) Gotta find what works for the project and the thread and the effect. And also … I’m lazy and one X at a time takes too long lol
@CreativeLeigh1919 Well I am exactly the same in that I am lazy and much prefer stitching in rows. I don't do the stabbing method either if I can help it
Thank you for the video. I'm so glad you are better. I love your finish but can't find it as usual. The new project you are going to try and finish is fantastic. Enjoy your warm weather. we have a nice fall weather right now, but hopeful of snow this winter.
Hi Gail. Try: farmgirldrygoodsshop.com/brick-house-sampler/ for the sampler. Yesterday was a lovely day and today looks great too, although I will be sitting at a desk for most of the day. I can't remember when I was last in snow... I missed the (rare) big snow dump in Wellington back in... 2011, I think? I was in Australia. I've lived in Wellington region for 25 almost 26 years, and that's the only time there was snow... and I missed it!
I am in love with your brick house, turned out beautiful! Love the silk one too, I think I like the idea for the monochromatic silk. Happy silly season.
Thank you, Liz! I like to talk about my "I didn't get this right, so gonna change it" process. I know that people are often discouraged if they start something and then change their minds. Hey, it's part of the process, right? Looking forward to giving the sampler some love in 2025. She's a big one, but, stitching mono. will make it go faster, for sure. Ha - actually stitching on it will make it faster! :D
Oh my heavens, lots of lovelies are being stitched. Good luck with the band sampler, but I do like the Keslyn one and think it will look fab as a more monochromatic piece. See you in a few weeks 😊
Thanks Christine. I am still only 95% sure I am switching to mono. But I for sure and ditching the highly variegated. I will frog that and carry on with the border and maybe I will try a couple of solid motifs in the colour. We shall see. That's a 2025 problem! haha. Looking forward to the catch up in December! Looking forward to chillaxing!
Hi Leigh love your finish the colours are beautiful, love that band sampler I’m doing the short version of that, haven’t pulled it out for a while, your hair is pretty, hope your last 20 days go quickly for you, have a good week Thankyou for sharing 🇳🇿🪡❤
Hi Donna! I love that band sampler so much... but like everything... it has been neglected. I finished beading a Mill Hill finish for a friend (I offered to do it for her as she seemed to have stalled on it, and she has been so wonderful and supportive this year), so that left me only an hour to stitch on my own project last night. I got half the big alpha row (so, A to D) stitched, and I got E, F and G stitched this morning. Just the H to go and that first row is done. Am deep in replanning of my project this morning as we have to push one of the milestones out to the end of January due to leave and issues in testing. Sigh.
It's like a future self and a past self having a little chat... and the past self wants to be right, and the future self doesn't want to frog! haha. So, I'd best get that needle fired up!
I hear you on the Stitching Fun design. I stopped stitching mine as wasn't happy with color placements. Have put it away till I'm ready to sort out what I'm going to do. Love Remember Me. Shes on my list to kit with all my other Teresa Kogut designs next year. Shes my favourite designer at moment
You know it's true. haha. I stitched so much last week that I poked a hole in my pushing finger, and had to change how I stitched for half that house... which slowed me down. Size 28 needles hurt when constantly hitting the nerve! haha. I need some of those wee thimble patches for times when I get a bit obsessive with the stitching.
I know you are set to stitch Cross Stitch Fun all one color, but what you have pulled are so beautiful! I would urge you to frog variegated and use all sold colors. But, your teal color is beautiful if you go monochromatic.
Haha. Yeah... I am tempted still... Damn. what to do? haha. First... frog, and perhaps just carry on with the border and put off further decisions? I could try a couple more motifs in the colour...
Hi Leigh, loved all your stitching and finishing this week, such a variety. Thank you for sharing x

Completely randomisations! haha. Thanks!
The sampler you finished is lovely. I really like your leap year stitching. Glad you are feeling better. 20 DAYS!!!! Hope they go by in a flash.❤
19 days now! And today flew by.
Love your birthday finish. Some great progress and decisions. Have a great week and Happy Stitching 🌸💞🌸
Thank you Suzie. Hope you have a fab week!
Gorgeous finish!!! So happy you are getting better, and I hope your 20 day countdown goes quickly! 😁😁😁😁🩷🩷🩷🩷

Thanks Leigh. Great catch up. Good luck with the band Sampler but if anyone can finish it - you can! Happy stitching.
Ha. You know it. I have just half a letter to stitch on the big alpha row (A to H). Nearing 58% now. Totally finishable!
