  • Amberlight 2 from Escapemotions.com is OUT!!! The amazing update to one of my favourite bits of software.
This is just a quick play after installing it, can't wait to get into all the juicy new features. :-)

    Nice.
What do you plan to use it for?
    What new features interest you?

+commenzator Cheers, love the fact we can do animation now, looking to use that feature to replace the sky in some drone videos. The bigest think for me though is the scalable UI that will let me use it on the Surface 3 a lot easier, also the grid is really useful as is the copy and paste stuff. Going to be fun

I think the one thing that makes me balk at using fractals apps seriously is the lack of direct control. It's a bit like shooting in the dark and hoping for a good result. Sure the effects are good but it's difficult to achieve a specific design.

+commenzator I agree, but the randomness is also one of the reasons I enjoy using them too. Sometimes these types of apps can take a piece off into a totally new direction.

I used fractals apps in the mid 90's to work in with my digital comic artwork. I used an Intuous 1 at the time but was learning 3D with tablets that came out before Wacom entered the scene. Still find that if you want predictability then a 3D modelling app is the only solution.
With Amberlight, are there any options to translate the output into 3D or export the lines and shapes?

      +commenzator unfortunately not, no.
