That's a good helper you have there. A gift from God. I'm doing a cow hide like this. It's truly a lot of work.
She's adorable helping clean the hide. How long does a hide this big take to go from cleaning to being usable.
honestly I am still softening it. It takes a while and a lot of work. Ill be working on it this fall. Until then it is in the freezer.

Please forgive my ignorance. What are you scraping? I understand the stretching process and the fleshing. But lost on the scraping.
Whats the tool you were using and how did you sharpen it?
Do you brain it after the first scrape?
How long did it take to become soft?
Do you have a video on the process of stretching and tanning the moose hide?
I would love to see more as well :)
