Along with the broken hip Tom Petty was also contending with emphysema. He had procrastinated going to the hospital in order to finish the 2017 Heartbreakers tour. The tour's last concert was on September 25, 2017. However, Petty waited to get medical attention. It has been speculated Petty was waiting to play with former member of the Byrds, Chris Hillman. Petty had produced Hillman's "Biden' My Time" LP. David Crosby stated that he, Roger McGuinn, and Petty were going to play with Hillman at LA's Troubadour Club on October 17. Unfortunately, Tom Petty died on October 3, 2017. The 17th concert was cancelled, it fell on the date of Petty's funeral. Did Tom Petty put off getting the medical attention he needed in order to play this Byrds reunion show? It seems quite possible.

Too many real pain meds in his 66 year old body. Who was the Doctor(s) that prescribed all of those drugs to be taken at the same time?
He must have been in incredible pain. He is free now!
It's amazing people are so shocked and upset when these people die from drugs.
I'm disappointed you didn't cover the Traveling Wilbury's albums.
I was living nearby when those 2 albums were being recorded at Friar Park Henley on Thames
Sadly Missed. 😢
Great short doc, except for using a photo of Rosanna Arquette a few times as his wife, oops!
Not a loss to me. Pills and booze did it. This action of Petty sent the message to young People on being cool. Take drugs. Not my idea of a stellar human being.
I think Tom Petty would throw up if he knew one of his songs was used to sell a child's video game.
He is missed
Something to keep when you have a pool is a submersible pump, some experts on LA wildfires suggest.
The day he died, I had to actually leave work, due to how upset I was. 😅 Such a loss! I’d passed on buying tickets to his last tour because the prices got insanely high. Really wish I would have spent the money, now. 😩
He was in the days of my youth.
