This one rips my heart out. I am left sobbing at the end of this EVERY TIME! If you have ever been through this situation, it brings it right back. The wailing absolutely breaks me. I love this performance. Have you ever heard the tiny Desk concert of hers? It’s another one that is really fantastic. And her background singers are incredible. Such a good performance if you ever get a chance to check it out.
You simply MUST react to the tiny desk concert. Best tiny desk ever done in my opinion. I cannot cannot stop listening to it and its been 3 years. You will absolutely LOVE her backing singers too.
I can’t get over the part where in this clip she looks like somebody’s mom from the PTA that you would pass in the dairy aisle at the grocery store and secretly she’s a soul singer who can surgically remove your heart with her voice. Amazing.
Nothing beats it ❤ I was so excited when I saw the thumbnail. I know I mentioned her before, but let me say Scarlett Fae, one of Ren's back up singers has a really interesting voice. I think it would be fun to hear you do a breakdown of her singing. Have a brilliant weekend.
Stop it. I’m here obsessing over your Chappell videos and you do this ?? Ugh best vocal coach reacts channel. I cannot believe you had not heard of Yebba before ! Evergreen is a great song of hers, especially the performance in the cathedral !
I love this so much! Tim, I would so love to see you react to Chinchilla's 1:5 song (the live version). I just heard it yesterday for the first time and it is just UNREAL.
She has collaborated with many in her early days almost a decade ago. Even winning a Grammy. This song is 7 years old. Yes her mom committed suicide a week after its release. Took Yebba a few years to recover. Three years later she put out October Sky in tribute to her mom. A high school teacher who used to take home the bottle rockets her class made, calling on Yebba and her brother to set them off in their backyard. See the video, where she and one other play their guitars and sing outdoors. Perhaps my favorite song. A year later she released her first album. It’s amazing! Everyone should watch whatever they can find online. There isn’t much but all worth listening to. She went on tour opening for John Mayer. Sorry I missed it but Mayer sells out quick plus it’s arena concerts. I hope to see her in a smaller venue. I love her. Another reaction to her worthy to watch is the Fairy Voice mother. Tim if you haven’t watched her, check her out. Her reaction to My Mind is informative and moving.
OMG OMG OMG!!! I’m so excited to watch this! . I remember seeing this around 2019 and was wrecked. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen it since and it’s still just as powerful. I have described Yebba as a vocal gymnast. See you in 25 minutes ❤
Now listen to Boomerang! And her duet with Clark Beckham singing Gravity. At 69 and a lifelong music lover I swear Yebba is absolutely one of the best I've ever heard. It's shocking to me she's not known in the league of the best ever.
SIR YOUR REACTIONS LITERALLY MADE ME SMILE... CRY AND AIR PUMP .I ADORED HOW YOU HOURNEDED HER AND YOUR GENUINE EMPATHY AND RESPECT FOR EVERY CHORD SHE DEMOLISHED..ON ONE OFV LIFE'S GREATEST PLEASURES FOR MUSIC LOVERS IS THE AFFIRMATION OF WHITNESSING A FELLO MUSICAL HUMAN ENJOYING..THE CREATIVE CIRCLE OF LIFE ❤...THANKYOU FOR COVERING YEBBA ❤❤❤
I would love to see you react to Boomerang LIVE after this because it is also about a relationship ( not her own this time) but the tone of the song is VERY different. I feel like the fact that when this was performed she was going through a very difficult emotional time ( her mother died vis S just a week after this performance and she uploaded it for free to bring awareness to mental illness and the stigma that it comes with.) Numerous years have gone by and I think that Yebba was in a very different emotional space and I think it’s reflected in the performance. Emotional, but not with the brutal rawness that we hear here, especially with her riffs, runs, vocal fry, etc
Wow - what a wealth of knowledge you’ve dropped on an obviously stunning masterpiece performance by YEBBA! So many things you pointed out, I’ll work on implementing in my singing. How’s the process for private lessons work?
If you go to my website, which is up in the description, you can text our number and Raya my assistant can talk you through any questions you have! I have several amazing teachers that work with me and we do lessons in person in Philadelphia, Jersey City, and South Orange, New Jersey, and we have students online all over the world. My schedule is pretty full right now, but I do have windows here and there. ✨🙏🏼
New fan and new sub. I would love to hear your reaction to Emily Armstrong who has debuted as the new singer for Linkin Park, capably taking on the role once filled by the late Chester Bennington. She has his raspy belt, but I always wonder if singing in that style is sustainable. They streamed a live performance on youtube that includes a lot of their big hits from years past, and it was a lot of fun.
Sadly, I believe Yebba lost her Mother who unalived herself just after this song was released. She had suffered from mental illness for years. As a result, haven't heard anything else from this phenomenal singer. I hope she will grace us with her talent again someday, when she is ready.❤
To answer the question in the title, this is not the best vocal ever, but it is without a doubt the most heart wrenching vocal ever. Of course this is based on my opinion.
Love Dimash and have been following him since his performance years ago in a Chinese voice contest. He’s oput out so much since and he just gets better and better. I missed his performance in Brooklyn because I didn’t know of him until the next month. But music is in the ear of the listener. Dimash is amazing, but as Tim said, one listens to what touches the heart. For me that’s folk rock, classic rock music, classic jazz and many other genres.
-robably heard this song thousands of times. It is never anything short of a heartbreaking miracle. She is a goddamn hardworking miracle of a human. And today, I straight up shattered and sobbed while watching this. Not in a state of breakup, but grieving despair is universal, turns out. 💔😞🙃🫠
Evergreen.
She sang it for her mother.
Been trying to tell everyone about Yebba for years. Powerhouse raw soul.
Oh this is a treat, love Yebba!

@@TimWelchVocalStudio I concur! Her tiny desk (remote during Covid, I think) is spectacular. The musicians, arrangements...mesmerizing.
Not going to lie i did a little yelp when i saw you were reacting to Yebba I am a fan of her music❤ so thank you Tim appreciate you always 👍
💛✨🙏🏼 Yebba 🤯

The best Tiny Desk I have ever watched.

Thanks again.

You should see her duet with Ed Sheeran. Best part of me is you?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜💜💜💜
It is excellent! Super emotional! I first heard her with Jacob Collier, and she didn’t want credit for it. (Bridge Over Troubled Water).

she does have one song on her TH-cam channel from 10 months ago. About to listen to it.

she’s got some other stuff out too!
